M-A-G

So, here I am. I'm right back at it again. What say we bring M-A-G Month to a close this week, huh? I had fun, but time marches on and all that. We've got one more goody of mine to tackle as May approaches its final days, but we need to add last week's offering from You Don't Know Jack: Television to our leaderboard. Here are the standings....
One-Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - 8.71
Aquatic Ambience (Donkey Kong Country) - 8.66
At Doom's Gate (Doom) - 8.375
Guile Stage Theme (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo) - 8.25
Bloody Tears (Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest) - 7.85
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog) - 7.72
Fight Against Smithy (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars) - 7.2
Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved) - 7.125
Spark Mandrill Stage (Mega Man X) - 7
Breeze - In Monochrome Night (Silent Hill 3) - 6.25
Big Apple, 3AM (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Turtles in Time) - 6.16
Still Alive (Mirror's Edge) - 5.5
The Instinct (Killer Instinct) - 5.42
Heaven (The Impossible Game) - 4.16
The Jack Attack (You Don't Know Jack: Television) - 3.57
Well, if nothing else, "Heaven" from The Impossible Game doesn't have to worry about being the bottom of the barrel anymore. A 3.57 for "The Jack Attack" is a poor showing, indeed, as it now occupies our last place position.
Are we going to get a repeat of such an occurrence this week? Well, we shall see. Seeing as we're bringing my month to an end and we've been dealing with my favorite games and franchises, it's only appropriate to finish things off with my favorite game of all time. It's not hyperbole when I say I find almost everything about this game top shelf, and one of those things is the soundtrack. One song in particular grabs the attention of almost everyone who plays this sucker and I absolutely consider it the best in the game. So, without further ado, let's dive into Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and listen to its signature main theme, Ozar Midrashim....

And there it is in all its glory. From the opening cinematic to the final battle, this song has a tremendous presence in the game. Is it a welcome presence? I leave it up to you and your capable hands. We'll see you next week!
