Birdstone ran a hell of a race. When he started to close with five furlongs left, I had a feeling he was going to take it.
I feel bad for Smarty, but Birdstone earned that race today.

I hate Smarty Jones. I was at Outback when the race was on, and I went up to the bar to watch, everyone was like "yeah, Smarty Jones, WOO." The only reason people like him is cause he won the first two races. I looked over the horses before the Kentucky Derby, and I was like "I don't like Smarty Jones." Plus he has a gay name. I bet his last name isn't even Jones.
Meh, I generally don't root for horses to win the Triple Crown, or for that matter, any athlete to accomplish any landmark feats.
I figure the less often it happens the more prestigious it is when it does.
(yes, I am fully aware that we havn't had a Triple Crown winner since about 1978)

I rooted for Smarty because of what he did at Preakness.
That was fucking insane. 11 1/2 lengths. Wow.
Hence, when he started to pull away, I assumed he had it won. Because a horse who won by 11 1/2 lengths couldn't possibly blow the lead.
Right?

How can you hate/love a horse? Its a f'n horse, you see it win twice and all of a sudden you are "huge fans." I don't care what you say, you can't be a fan of a horse. They don't have personality, they don't have unique style, unless you know your shit about horse racing you are just a spectator rooting for a certain horse.
Personally, I didn't really want him to win it either, because last year Funny Cide got that far and it was a big deal, so I thought it was a big deal, so then it happened again and I was like "whatever, this happens every year."

Could care less that he won twice.
He destroyed the entire field at the Preakness, god damn it.
When I see any "athlete" do something amazing, I will mark out and pull for them.
Like I am a huge Marcus Camby fan because of his putback dunks. That's the only reason I like him.
But it's true.
Marcus Camby is just a Smarty Jones to me.
I hate when people get all anal about stuff saying "It's just a ____."
That's a high horse and it's gay, and I could do the same thing to half of all yall's posts.
