I was perusing through the thread about tables in wrestling, and I got sort of an idea. Bear with me here...
As I'm sure many of you have noticed, there always seems to be an odd assortment of objects around a wrestling ring. Tables, ladders, chairs, sledgehammers, stop signs, trash cans, fire extinguisers, etc.
Now I don't know about you, but I don't know why the hell anybody would just have a sledgehammer laying idly by at a wrestling match. Same goes for stop signs and other things. I thought it might be kind of fun to come up with scenarios/situations explaining how odd items might get left around/underneath a wrestling ring. I'll give an example...
Triple H knew his promo was running too long when a member of the ring crew held up a stop sign.
I know that was kinda weak, but I hope that makes sense. Now go on, give it a try!

"He put that under the ring before the show because he figured he would use it in his match"
Mick Foley's Tacks are used to pin up promotional posters...
The Barbed Wire 2x4... Is... Ummm... Is part of a security fence that they've been meaning to fix? :shifty:

Considering how on fire Shelton was over the past few weeks, evolution thought it was best to keep an extinguisher around.
Jeff hard kept jumping off ladders before TV time.

Stop Sign - Was hung above the ring when the booking team was meeting and didn't want Triple H's interference
Shovel - Triple H's opponent for tonight decided to get a head start, and went ahead digging his own grave for his career.
Table - Big Show was dining at the buffet, and after eating all the food, had to hide the evidence so he could say no food was ever there.
Ladder - Since the WWE is loosing money, they fired the ring crew. The wrestlers had to set up the lights above the ring themselves.
Thumb Tacks - To hang up promotional posters inside the arena.

Trip's opponent had his sledgehammer ready to nail the final nail in his coffin.

The Ladder was hidden under the ring so it would be easy for the ring crew to fix the Glass Ceiling if it got damaged.

John Bradshaw Layfield started his new job with CNBC today. He put the kitchen sink and pipe he needed to fix their drainage under the ring so he wouldn't forget.

-Everytime Triple H would hit Shelton Benjamin, Benjamin thought of fighting back, but he was reminded of the stern warning from Mr. McMahon and the stop sign under the ring beating as it slowly drove Benjamin insane. (Cheap "The Tell-Tale Heart" reference).
-Everytime Stephanie was supposed to cut a heel promo, she would go under the ring and eat a Thumb Tack from the hidden sack of them down there, to make her voice scratchy.
-Everynight, Vince McMahon and Jim Ross would go out in the arena and take an unsold chair from the audience, fold it up and put it under the ring so hey could say the arena was sold out.
-Anytime a person wanted to go over Triple H they could, but ater the show they would need to get the Trash Can and Trash Can Lid from under the ring and clean the entire arena.
OR
-Bradshaw liked his breakfast so much, he sucked the Trash Can dry, and left it under the ring as a trophy.
-Triple H hid the Sledgehammer under the ring so noone could find it to break the Glass Ceiling.
-The Tables were stored under the ring so Triple H's opponents could have access to a cleaner place to lie down for Triple H.
-Originally Eugene's character wa ssupposed to be a mixture of Jim Duggan and that boy who carries "Plank" around in Ed, Edd and Eddy, so a 2x4 was hidden under the ring for him.
-A Barbed Wired 2x4 was discarded under the ring as Mick Foley's idea of Fairy Floss wasn't very popular.
-There was a hidden Cookie Sheet under the ring in case any of Rico's opponents felt too "doughy".
-There was an emergeancy Fire Extiguisher under the ring in case Big Show got hungry and decided to turn the ring into a giant stove.
I think that's about it. I didn't intend to be offense in any of these, I was just trying to turn everything into a giant joke by using "WWE Stereotypes" and current wrestlers.

Why are chairs under the ring?
Take the empty chairs out of the seating area, and it looks like a sell out... gotta put them somewhere, right?
