Welcome lesser mortals back to your prized treasure my weekly column. Now I know how much it means to most of you that’s why I decided to go ahead and post and make you wait no longer. This is a very special edition, and edition dedicated to one of my favorite aspects of the Raw brand the Women’s Division. For those of you interested in Smackdown only go do something else, for this is solely about the beautiful, and talented women of the Raw brand. Maybe next week I’ll dedicate one just for you Smackdown fans, but for now lets get on with this weeks.

Now this current women’s division I personally am a huge fan of. The current women’s division is the best the WWE has had for years, decades even. We have a huge body of talent to choose from, and not only that but the talents bodies are good to look at too. Now before I go on and say what is wrong with the Women’s division and what is right I would like to list the women I count in the current women’s division because I don’t count all Raw women. In it I count: Molly Holly, Trish Stratus, Lita, Gail Kim, Victoria, Jazz and Nidia.

My first problem is I don’t think they have enough women in there. The women’s division should have one match on Raw and one on Heat in my opinion, and they just don’t have enough people. You burn out too quickly on them, but that may also be because the women lack characters for the most part. They don’t have anything but good bodies to keep you interested, and that doesn’t last long because I don’t know about yours but I can only get mine up so many times from the same person (I never should get married). So when running on looks alone I bore quickly.

But the women’s division doesn’t run on looks alone now does it. The women’s division isn’t ran like a normal division, it’s unique and that’s what I think the Raw writers and Bookers overlook. The division doesn’t run on heavy storylines, while it does use some it doesn’t rely on them. It doesn’t rely on mic work and promo’s, and It doesn’t completely run on looks (because let’s face it some of those women are just plain ugly). It runs on good solid matches, while short they’re still solid matches. It reminds me more of the old golden age of wrestling. There really weren’t a lot of storylines then, and they didn’t talk that much it was more of a sport (remember Gorgeous George really brought the entertainment mainstream in wrestling). That’s what I like about the women’s division it is wrestling, it is a sport in a world of entertainment, and that’s what makes it so good. I think some of those women could out wrestle a lot of the men if they needed to.

I think though the women’s division is overlooked by bookers and the WWE writers for the most part. I don’t know why though, did the women refuse to sleep with them so they wrote them off the show. Instead the women of the WWE are used as sexual play things (Lita for Kane, Trish for Christian), instead of wrestlers. They are made to look visibly weaker to the men (just look at the last wrestling game), and used as things to get their feuds going with. Doesn’t anyone remember the days when Chyna wrestled for the Intercontinental Title, or the great feuds of the late nineties and early 2000’s. Then we saw women wrestling weekly and it was none as a reason to watch the WWE. Then we didn’t even have as many women, I can only think of four (Sable, Ivory, Jacqueline, Debra). With those four (three most of the time) two women’s matches a week were put on, and the title had respect. Instead now we have the same person (Trish or Molly) champion all the time it feels. There’s no feud to advance the title, and most of the time the women are put in shitty tag team matches that mean nothing and sometimes left off the PPV.

I think the title needs to change hands on the next Raw. Give it to back to Victoria or Gail Kim or even Nidia and build them up. Use them to start a women’s feud, bring something back to the title. Remember people this is not the Trish Stratus title it’s the women’s championship. No title should belong to one person unless that person is drawing well and in feuds. The only feud Trish is in is with Jericho and why should we have a women’s champion in a feud with a man. The only good I can see coming of this is if Jericho somehow costs her the title. We need a women’s champion dedicated to the women’s division, and we need a women’s division that is as great as the days of old. As I said earlier right now the division is the best in decades, so why is one made up of four people booked more than one made up of 7 (almost twice as many). That just doesn’t make sense to me. If you gave the women’s division a chance to draw they would, I can guarantee that.

As for women’s matches (Mud, bra & panties, Jell-O, etc.), I like these matches, I also like the way they are used sparingly. What would be better to advance a feud between two women than one getting the other one put in a Jell-O, bra & panties match? Not a whole lot because I’d have to think that would be pretty embarrassing to be stripped to your underwear and covered in Jell-O. That’s how these matches should be used, or on special occasions (holidays, birthdays, etc.). That is something I like the way the WWE is doing, and would like to see it continue in the women’s division.

That’s it for this edition. Well one more thing I give props to Molly shaving her head, I’ve been told how much hair means to a woman. Next week there may be a edition there may not. I have a show to work next week and you know ten hours a day takes a lot of time. The next edition will be about The Great American Bash, and my thoughts on Smackdown guaranteed though. I do know people read this, and I don’t read those little replies you post on the message boards. If you want me to answer any questions or want to tell me anything you’ll have to e-mail me.

I'd appreciate womens wrestling if it was booked right. IMO they're in the same boat as cruisers right now. Underutilized. Molly is the shit. Gail is finally getting her time. Trish is a heel (personally I like her better as a face), Lita, well....

All the ingredients are there but what can you do....

I dunno, I think adults like to see boobs just as much as 8-year-olds.
