I :love:d the POD show.
The first act was Lacuna Coil, and as we all know, I'm not very keen on their music, so I decided it was okay that I missed their entire set. When I got there, they were signing autographs, and I have a friend who loves them, but couldn't make it to the show, so I got them to sign my ticket for her. Cristina Scabbia is hot.
The 2nd act was Hazen St... the only band I knew nothing about. They were punky and energetic, so it was a good set.
The 3rd act was Blindside...and they were decent. Nothing impressive, as far as I'm concerned. But the guitarist and lead singer were jumping around and doing karate kicks and stuff...lots of speed and energy.
The final act, of course, was P.O.D. I've liked them for years...but this is my 1st time seeing them live. They were breathtakingly awesome. I was way more into it than I was any other concert I've been to, but that had to do with the venue and my tenure liking the band. The setlist was like:
Boom
Set It Off
Alive
Youth of the Nation (they pulled some of the younger kids in the crowd up on stage during the song, really cool)
Satellite
The Messenjah
Without Jah, Nothin'
Wildfire
Will You
Execute the Sounds
Freedom Fighters
Revolution
Southtown
Sleeping Awake
I was rather disappointed because they relied on their last 2 albums for material, when lots of the older stuff is kick ass (if it is a little more religious) too. Sonny (the lead singer) was throwing out bottles of water like crazy (at least 25-30 bottles over the course of the show) telling us to share and such. He also got up on the crowd barricade a couple times during songs while the crowd helped him keep his balance up there.
In short:
Pros:
Cristina Scabbia
LC signing my ticket
Hazen St.
Sonny being totally awesome
P.O.D. for putting on a KICK ASS show
Cons:
The merchandise stand didnt have the shirt I wanted big enough
Not a wide variety of P.O.D. material
No TGR :'(
No Jamie :'( (The friend who likes Lacuna Coil)
