Plot outline: The movie is based on the infamous "Stanford Prison Experiment" conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The 'prisoners' are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the 'guards' are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority. (IMDb)
Just saw this. Good stuff. Like the plot outline says, it's based on the real life Stanford Prison Experiment. A fake prison is set up to observe the psychological effects prison has on people. It is really fascinating.
I found it on Kazaa, so DL it if you want. Pretty hot.

I also a different movie of the same idea where they took a subject into a room to help test a person on their memory skills. The person they were testing was acutally just a recording over a microphone. With each incorrect answer, the subject was told to shock the person over the microphone with an amount of voltage. With each incorrect answer, the voltage would increase and screaming would ensue over the microphone. It was a test used to see how far the subject would go before he would refuse to continue the experiment due to the severity of missing the answers. They also mixed up the test by letting the fake testee getting some right answers every once in a while just to see if that would prolong the time it took for the subject to stop the experiment.
Genius stuff. But it could easily cause some people psycological damage. Some crazy stuff.

Yeah I rented this. Not as good as I was hoping. I had heard good things about it, and I enjoy German films. Interesting stuff indeed but I felt it moved a little slowly. Oh well. It was a decent psychological thriller/horror.
I still say :y: but if you don't like reading subtitles then you shouldn't watch it.

With the prison abuse scandal in Iraq, many "experts" were trying to use the same logic found in these experiments as to why the things that happened there, happend.
