And they keep coming.

DX: THE NEW BEGINNING

Year: 1998

I know almost all you guys loved this one. Even though you may of booed this moment at the time it happened, you probably look back at it as one of the greatest wrestling moments ever. Raw was starting to get hot around 98 and things were starting to take off. And Degeneration-X would give Raw the boost it needed.

Degeneration X first started out as HBK, HHH, and Chyna. Rick Rude was also with them as sort of a bodyguard. They were cocky/arrogant heels and did whatever they pleased on episodes of Raw. At Royal Rumble 98, HBK would suffer a back injury, which would take him out of action for abut 4 yrs. Michaels, who was World champion at the time, wretled his last match at Wrestlemania 14, in which he was defeated by Steve Austin for the Title. Without HBK, DX seemed dead, but HHH picked up the pieces and started a new army. And when you start an army, you look to your blood, you look to your freinds, you look to the Clique........BREAK IT DOWN.

HHH would say those very words on March 31, 1998, on the Raw after Mania. He would say that Shawn dropped the ball and the Genesis of Degeneration-X would begin on that very night. After saying those very words in the par. above, the DX music hit and out walked a returning Sean Waltman, who would be known as X-pac. Me:  Yes, Waltman, who had wrestled as Syxx in WCW, had been fired by WCW and was now back home.

X-Pac came out to a thunderous pop and would hug HHH right in the center of the ring. You felt the emotion cause you knew they were really good freinds. Then X-pac took the mic and proceeded to give the best interview of his career. He ripped apart WCW, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. X-Pac would deliever a classic line: "I heard Hulk Hogan say on national TV that I couldn't cut the mustard.....well Hulk Hogan, you suck pal. Man, did I love that line. X-pac would finish of by saying that DX was here to rip ass on the World Wrestling Federation and it would start that night. Degeneration-X was really just beggining.

Fast Foward to the Main Event of the night. The most hated tag team at that time, The NEW Age Outlaws, would take on the Hardcore Legends, Cactus Jack and Terry Funk in a steel cage Tag Team Title match. Cactus and Terry were the tag champs. The Outlaw/Legends feud was one for the ages as both teams hated each other. The steel cage would bring an end to this feud. During the match Road Dogg and Billy Gunn would tie Terry Funk to the steel cage and Cactus was left all alone against the NAO. Cactus was over in the corner fighting Billy Gunn and was about to leave the cage. ENTER DX.

HHH, X-pac and Chyna come charging to the ring. Chyna would distract the ref and Pac would nail Cactus in the head with a chair about 3 times. Then the Oulaws deliever a pretty sick Spike Pilediver on the steel chair to Cactus Jack. 1.2.3. New TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS.

X-pac and HHH would come into the ring after the macth and them and the Oulaws would totally DESTROY,and I mean DESTORY, Terry Funk and Cactus Jack. HHH would give a Pedigree to Cactus as Billy Gunn did the "Suck It" Taunt right in front of a down and out Cactus Jack. X-pac would then give Cactus the Bronko Buster. Road Dogg would continue to pound away on a helpless Terry Funk tied up on the cage. HHH then gives Cactus a chair shot and him and Billy Gunn hug. The DX music hits and the four members climb the cage and taunt the crowd to celebrate this new formation.

Thoughts: Wow, what a moment. Top 5 greatest Raw moments of all-time IMO. And one of the greatest beatdowns I have ever seen by a stable. This moment would change Raw forever as fans would come to love DX and DX would be turned babyface. rATINGS would increase as DX rose to the top of the Federation. They would go on to invade WCW on an episode of Raw and have a great feud with the Nation of Domination. I loved DX and X-pac was my favorite and still is one of my favorites to this day, despite everyone hating him. DX were cool and they were a kickass stable. Well, that's it for now. Until Next Time, RKO AND OUT :)
