I was reading the Trivia for Kill Bill Vol. 2 and in it Tarantino says that Elle Driver was based off the lead character in Thriller - En Grym Film.
I looked up said film, and here is the plot synopsis (www.imdb.com):
A mute girl is savagely gang-raped and is left at a brothel, after having been forced into drugs and lost an eye. Her parents kill themselves in grief. She trains herself in the use of weapons and car driving, then seeks out her enemies for a silent but cruel revenge.
Real sex scenes are used for the movie, and for the part where the pimp removes her eye, they use a corpse. Nuts. It was banned in Sweden.
There is a DVD release somewhere between August - November of this year (or last year, I don't feel like looking it up whilst family is around), as it has never been released in the U.S. unedited outside of Drive Ins.
Sounds nuts. Anyone seen a bootleg copy?
