The Rocks current contract with the WWE is up this October, Will The Rock sign on for more cameo appearences or leave the WWE to concentrate on Hollywood?.

Discuss and stuff

I think he will. The Rock wouldn't keep popping up if he didn't love the business. I think he'll stick around.

The WWE will try to re-structure the contract to appease both sides.

The Rock will probably be asked to make only a small handful of appearances a year, most likely around WM time.

I think this works out best for sides also. The Rock is still a featured attraction in wrestling, and thus keeps that base of fans, and the WWE gets to use the Rock's appearances to spike ratings. The less we see the Rock, the more each of his appearances will mean, thus leading to increased ratings.

Not to mention the fact that the WWE wouldn't want Rock to make any appearances on their competitors show. They're going to bend over backwards to keep him on.

Like I stated before, unless Turner gets into the wrestling market again, the WWE shouldn't worry. Even if Turner gets a promotion, how many appearances will the Rock make?

Also, to point out the flaw in your argument- the Rock doesn't need the money. By going to another promotion the Rock will have to work harder to gain recognition, whereas in the WWE he is already comfortable, and the WWE and him are on good terms.

I would see WWE resigning Rock for maybe a multi-year deal... Prehaps, like others have said, only required to make appearences during WrestleMania/SummerSlam time, maybe 1-3 matches a year, and have a set price for random appearences...

I dont know all of the details of his deal with the WWE over his name, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Rock has to have a deal with the WWE in order to use the name.

Anyway, its a moot point. Rock will never go to TNA because A) they couldn't afford him and B) he would never want to be seen in a minor league promotion like that. It would hurt his image.

As for a deal, nothing will be set in stone in terms of dates, because the WWE knows Hollywood is Rock's priority. But as we've seen he loves coming back and will continue to do so whenever his schedule permits and the WWE has something for him to do.

The only threat they would ever have with Rocky is if one day years from now, some new company is started by a billionaire (just say Turner) and Rock isn't drawing in Hollywood and cant get anymore deals. At that point if he wanted to get back into wrestling semi-full-time he could go there istead of the WWE. But even that is far fetched, because even at this point with all the stuff Rock is committed to, he never has to wrestle again.

Rock has a bright future in Hollywood and he doesn't need WWE anymore. Period. And didn't he already buy the name "The Rock" off Vince already?

There's no reason for him not to sign again. He's paid big money under his contract and shows up whenever the fuck he wants...

Rock is living comfortably, I wouldn't see money being an issue with him even if there were a billionaire. The Rock has cut some promos that pretty much convinced me that WWE is always gonna be his home in wrestling. Whether or not he's doing movies right now, or in the future won't change that. Of course he'll sign up again. And if he doesn't, don't expect him to go jumping to any other wrestling company.

From what I understand, Vince still owns the name, but they worked out a deal so that The Rock can use it on TV and in the movies.
Don't know if it's a flat fee, or if it's a percentage, but WWE still owns The Rock.

The Rock will definetly stay. He still loves the business and doesn't want to be anywhere but the WWE.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

He will appear only once in a while, and when its a surprise (like the first time with Eugene), ratings will be huge!

The Rock is the man!
