Let's praise Steve Martin. Triple A says Steve Martin sucks but in actuality, HE DOESN'T. Sure NOW his career has started going all "Eddie Murphy" but I'm talking about his entire career.

The reason I bring this up now is because I saw Novocaine today and it ruled. He ruled in it as well. Steve Martin rules.

Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)
Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
Bringing Down the House (2003)
Novocaine (2001)
Bowfinger (1999)
Out-of-Towners, The (1999)
Prince of Egypt, The (1998) (voice)
Spanish Prisoner, The (1997)
Sgt. Bilko (1996)
Father of the Bride Part II (1995)
Mixed Nuts (1994)
Simple Twist of Fate, A (1994)
Leap of Faith (1992)
HouseSitter (1992)
Grand Canyon (1991)
Father of the Bride (1991)
L.A. Story (1991)
My Blue Heaven (1990)
Parenthood (1989)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
Roxanne (1987)
Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
¡Three Amigos! (1986)
Movers and Shakers (1985)
All of Me (1984)
Lonely Guy, The (1984)
Man with Two Brains, The (1983)
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982)
Pennies from Heaven (1981)
Jerk, The (1979)
Muppet Movie, The (1979)

Those are his main movies he has done. I'll admit some of it is crap but he redeems himself with The Jerk which is like... the funniest movie EVER.

Plus, Bowfinger, Novocaine, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Roxanne, The Muppet Movie, Parenthood, and Three Amigos all rule while Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Little Shop of Horrors, My Blue Heaven, Mixed Nuts, and Sgt. Bilko are all pretty good too.

Plus all the bad movies he's done have just been bad choices, he's still a great actor.

ALSO, he was the man on SNL and his stand-up was gold.

Well stop that

The Jerk is terribly unfunny. Also, Bowfinger was garbage. I went to see that in the movies when I was little and remember being disappointed with how much it sucked. That was when I was LITTLE. I LOVED EVERYTHING BACK THEN.

The Jerk is terribly unfunny.

This is the worst thing ever said in the history of mankind. Seriously, whoever I show The Jerk to laughs hysterically at it. It is beyond classic. One of the funniest movies ever.

And I loved Bowfinger but I can see how other people wouldn't. :o

I don't know. Steve Martin just strikes me as a really really unfunny person trying so hard to be funny. In fact, I am 90% sure he is one of those guys. I can see why people would like him, but I can see through him.

I don't think he's one of those guys. Watch him from the SNL/stand-up days. He was too "different" to be one of those guys.

I didn't like Bowfinger that much, but Steve Martin is hilarious in most of his movies.

Novacaine was his best movie by far.

I feel embarassed to even think of watching any of his other work. He's like Billy Crystal to me - everybody thinks he's hilarious, but I can't sit thru half of one movie of his.

Billy Crystal shouldn't be compared to Steve Martin.

And yes, Novocaine was great but he's passed the point where he can surpass The Jerk now.

Three Amigos, Little Shop of Horrors, My Blue Heaven and Planes, Trains and Automobiles are all great.
