Yeah, I've been thinking about past wrestling tag teams which have formed from two singles guys, who were midcarders at best and had no past relationship with each other, that were thrown together and went on to become great tag teams. Teams that come to mind are New Age Outlaws, Jarrett/Owen, Kane/X-pac (believe it or not, they were pretty good IMO) Billy and Chuck, Hollywood Blondes (greatest of all-time.) etc...... You guys can post some more if you want.
Anyway, what I'm getting at, is that the tag divisions on Raw and Smackdown have been pretty lackluster lately with only a couple of "real" teams wrestling. London and Kidman could br great, but they won't last long as champs because there babyfaces. It's the heel teams that work well and stay as champs longer. Raw has LA Resistance as champs and they are the best possible team to hold the belts there.
But, if I asked you to put together a team right now if two guys whom are really doing nothing, who would you choose. Do some for each show. Give them a name too, if you can think of one.
Mine on Raw
HBK/Jericho: This would be an intersting one and you could really go eathier way with them, heels or babyfaces. HBK needs to turn heel soon and go back to his "DX" type character. Jericho is a perfect "tag team guy" right now and I would use him in a tag team because he's not going anywhere as a singles wrestler. I would call them something like "The Highlight of the Night." I would like them more as heels though and I can see they getting tremendous heat from the crowd.
Hardy/Kane: They need to do this to save the storyline. This would be an excellent heel team and I can see this working. Lita can manage them and I can see her as a more darker type chracter. It would be like an "odd couple" type pairing. They could get really dark music and call themselevs some kind of cultish name. Don't know though.
Smackdown:
Suzuki/Tajiri: I think they are making a mistake pushing Suzuki as a singles guy right now. His in ring skills aren't great, so you put him in a tag team and that covers it a little. Tag him with Tajiri for obvious reasons and keep the wife as manager. The translating thing works with her and they need to keep doing that in interviews with Suzuki.
Chavo/Booker T w/Long as manager: Don't know why, but I see this working. Booker is doing nothing and will continue to do nothing as a singles wrestler. HE needs to be in a tag team. Chavo is a great heel to have and I see him as a great tag team guy too.
BTW: After viewing the Smackdown Roster, god dam it sucks. They really don't have a lot of guys.
