View Full Version : TNA going head to head with Raw? Yay or Nay?

Reported on the main page and elsewhere that Fox is considering putting a new TNA slot on, and likely head to head with Raw.

Good idea, bad idea, middleground, or suicide?

As negative as some people were about NWA's future with Impact!, this is definitely much more bold a move. History rewards bold moves with either great fortune or great follies.

This would definitely seem like either the death of the WWE's only competition, or a breakthru moment for wrestling fans. Sadly, I'd venture towards the former as opposed to the latter.

Still, obviously SOME people do have faith in them. If this can get them somewhere, more power to 'em.

I'd watch TNA and tape Raw.

Me too. Actually, I'd prolly have to tape TNA, because I don't think Heidi gets FX or FSN, but I'd rather watch TNA and tape Raw.

No doubt in my mind...I would be tuned into TNA...but unfortunatly NWA-TNA dosn't have a snowballs chance in hell going up against WWE's RAW...if SOMEHOW they magically signed Hogan, Goldberg, Sting, and Austin to fulltime contracts, then maybe, but short of that I don't see this being any threat to WWE...though perhaps it could cause a few WWE marks to get their head out of the ground and face their noises towards NWA...

I would watch TNA, but cause I'm Australian, The shows wont be on at the same time, so I don't have to worry about taping and all that... but to answer your question, I would watch TNA, because if enough people watch TNA instead of Raw, then that will get the WWE thinking and give the TNA people some motivation.

Give it a few years, we could have a new Monday Night Wars

If advertised right, i'd be all for it.
But if they just shove it in the slot with no marketing, it'll be the death of TNA.

You know, 1 yr ago, I would of said no fk'n way. But, I read this story the other day and as soon as I read it, I was all for it because I think it would be a good thing for the business. You don't know what would happen until you try, so they might as well go ahead and do it. It's Not like TNA is going anywhere at the 3:30 timeslot anyway. Go for it.

They'd have a much better shot going up against Smackdown. Hell, depending when they actually make the move, they might be up against Monday Night Football too, which won't help them either.

With the right marketing this could maybe work but I am not sure. Sure us internet marks would like TNA but what about the casual marks who only really know about the WWE.

I'd say they would be better to have a "Thursday Night Wars". Because RAW is too well known. SmackDown! is weak right now and a challenge would be a awesome way to get TNA up the ladder and SD! up out of the gutter.

TNA would get alot more viewers if it wasn't on the pay channels for Fox Sports net. I reallly wanna see some TNA action but I can't watch Impact because I don't have the right package. Sucks don't it?

I think he means it doesn't come with the other channels with his cable company. He needs to buy it seperatley.

The Jarrett's would be handing out handjobs to all the TV execs if they got them a 9PM time slot on any day of the week.

Theoretically it would be greta for them, but it aint gonna happen, ever.
