What would you like to see on the main page?

Just thought I'd make this thread to get a general idea of what people want to see on the site, wrestling-related. Didn't figure to post a poll or anything yet, but Triple A basically gave the new colmunists (loopydate, Loose Cannon, The Duck and myself) a little freedom in that we can post features more than columns. Since the features haven't been too many, we are going to work hard to get it kicking again.

So that presents the question of what to post. Obviously we all have our own ideas, but as freqeunt visiters to the wrestling forum and site I figured to ask people here to get a general idea of the types of features you may want to see rather than posting the question on the main page (yet anyway) and having us have to sort out a bunch of scattered e-mails and ideas.

You guys are wrestling fans, what do you want to see up there? Feel free to give suggestions and feedback, and discuss it. It would be highly appreciated by myself and I'm sure the others as well, so that we can give you what you want to see, and work on getting some hits while satisfying readers.

Well first and foremost, less bias in the headlines. I'm rather sick of seeing stuff like "Further Proof That Vince McMahon is an Asshole" passed off as news. More frequent updates too, but of course that was the point of getting new writers.

Actually, I would like to see a "column" called "Further Proof That Vince McMahon is an Asshole". The author could take facts every week and twist them until they make Vince McMahon look like an asshole (moreso than he already is).

A bit lame but.. how about a daily Caption Feature. A different pic every day that you can caption, Hilarious ones could be archived.

Alright, we can do that. I'll choose some old school pics and some newer ones and you guys will send any one of us your caption. We'll do a pic per week to give time to everyone to send them in and then we'll choose the best 5 or something and put them on the front page. :y:

Back in the day this site rocked! There were news updates daily, usually a column as well. I know that since there's only one main wrestling company news isn't as juicy or interesting, but it'd be nice to see the site go back to how it was. (I also miss the women of wrestling pictures).

I've been impressed with how fast the updates have been coming since Trips gave us access. I wish I subscribed to one of the newsletters so that I could be posting stuff, too, but I don't. But, to feel useful, I may post Velocity results tonight.

As soon as we can figure out a way to do the caption thing, it will be done. Belee dat.

Don't worry guys, news will be updated every single day now. I won't post news that is totally bullshit. Only news from legit site and also from this show I listen too.

As for the columns, I'll give you guys a rewind at least 2-3 times a week. I'm leaning more towars 3. The "Loose Report" will be up every week as well. And I know loopy, RB and Duck will keep this site updated a lot too.

I'm also working on getting that whole Information section redone, so if you guys need to look up something like historical ratings, PPV's, Raw Results, Stables, Title History etc........ it will be here and you won't have to go to another site.

Well the links under the news and thing from reporters is probably either to their own stuff, or their sources, or other sites they suggest or whatnot. Don't really think it's that huge a deal, and really can't do much about it when someone posts one. But as LC said, you prolly won't be seeing any of that stuff from our posts.

The fantasy tournaments thing is a good idea. I had an idea also to show readers that their opinion mattered as well, and maybe a small incentive for someone to join. I am gonna start up an "Ask TPWW" thing soon, where I would randomly pick, or have a queue of wrestling forum posters and get their opinions on some of the heavier subjects on the WWE, and post it.

This may make readers want to speak their mind, and end up joining the wrestling forum, while giving the existing members a chance to vent their opinions to thousands of people. I'll announce whenever I'm ready, probably after SummerSlam some time. I know it isn't THAT big a deal, but I'm sure some people wouldn't mind doing it. It would be appreciated, and I thought it was a neat idea.

You will probably be seeing humorous stuff up there as well. I think LC has even posted his second column already, so we plan to get it going. Please continue posting feedback and ideas, we really appreciate it.

How about a weekly article called something like "Superstar to watch" where you talk about a wrestler that looked impressive during that week, and why he/she is worth watching on TV.

It'd be a change from a lot of the negative criticism.

I have been trying to integrate the message board with each thing posted on the main page but haven't been able to find a script that would do that. :mad: Well, I have, but it either hasn't worked or just is not compatible with this version of vBulletin.

If I could get that done, it would rule. Every thing posted on the main page would have a "post your comments" link on it that would link to a thread automatically posted on the forums (in its own forum) and people could reply to everything posted, like columns and news and whatever.

Cool. Cuase usually the max file size is at most 20 Megs and those are only the longer clips. Plus I could turn it into an article as well.
