Well I went to EB tonight, but it was so packed with stupid people complaining about return policies I just gave up and left out of frustration. But I would like to get into it.

I have a few questions though...

1. I have a cable hook up... exactly what all do I need? Just the adapter and an extra cable?

2. My actual modem is in the living room, my PS2 is in my bedroom. So in other words I have a router in the living room with 3 computers hooked to it. Can I use the line I have to my computer? Or would I have to hook directly to the modem?

3. This is the one you're going to flame me for. The back of Socom 2 said I needed "Ethernet Broadband"... that's what?

4. Lastly... I was thinking of getting Socom 2. Any postives or negatives about my choice?

1. Yeah, just the adaptor and some CAT5 cable.
2. do you have a comp in your bedroom? cause if ya did, you could just use the cable from your comp in the PS2..
3. You have Cable right? You're good.
4. Can't help ya there.

Cool... thanks. I'm reading up on it now at PS's official site and I'm learning a little. I might go rent Socom and a few other games today to see which one i want.

I would suggest getting Madden NFL 2004. Great online game. And in case you don't like football, I don't either, but still love the game, its just amazing, so don't really worry about that. Definatly check it out at least.

I would LIKE to suggest madden but i turned it in after way too much dropping. It just wasn't fun anymore. SOCOM is something you can enjoy more, obviously with more people to play with.

Well for online purposes Socom 2. But MOH is a good game but its online is a little weird.

If you're looking for a shooter (which it sounds like you are) SOCOM II would be your best bet. I hear MOH isn't all that good but I have SOCOM and it's great.

I'll run down the answers for you:
1. The Network Adaptor and a broadband cable.
2. You can hook it up to your router (best choice).
3. Broadband is cable, DSL, T1, etc connections and narrowband is 56k modems. Ethernet Broadband only means you can't play with a 56k modem.
4. SOCOM II is the best online shooter for the PS2. Get it if you're debating on it.

So does anyone know like the full "list" (if there is such a thing) of PS2 (and GC) games that can be played online?

MOH isn't on there for some reason.

I got my adapter today. I still have to get the head set and another fluckin' router. My other router is full cause both of my parents have individual computers and we're all hooked to one.

Socom II is fluckin' great! I was a little lost the first few times I played but now that I got the hang of it, it's a ball. I sat and watched this poor bastard try to be Mr. Stealth for about a minute before I decided to cap him from a roof. Haha.. it was great.

I'm going to buy Socom and rent XIII next week. Then eventually try Syphon Filter and Ghost Recon.

Syphon Filter is going to be a great edition to online play. Along with the HDD compatibility it will give SOCOM II a run for it's money. And now that you have the adaptor just wait for Killzone
