This is not your favorite wrestler, this is who you think is the best. Think about in ring skill, charisma, mic skills, accomplishments, and staying power.

10. Sting
A great worker, very entertaining, great gimmick.

9. The Rock
One of the best on the mic ever, if not the best. Good gimmick and in ring skills.

8. Mic Foley
Great gimmicks, great mic skills, good wrestler, and one tough bastard.

7. Owen Hart
Amazing in the ring, and great charisma, if he had better mic skill he would be higher.

6. Chris Benoit
One of the best ever to step into the ring, his stuff in Japan, WCW, and WWE proove this. (Moreso WCW and Japan however). He just isn't to charasmatic and his mic skills are pretty shabby. But his wrestling skills got him to number six.

5. Steve Austin
Really good in the ring, he can brawl and wrestle with the best. Great charisma and mic skills, his gimmick was a big part in changing wrestling.

4. Kurt Angle
Amazing athelete, he can do it all, he just needs more time to be in the top 3.

3. Shawn Micheals
Probably the most charasmatic wrestler ever, great high flyer, mat wrestler, and brawler. He can do it all. It is almost a tie for the top three.

2. Bret Hart
His character and amazing in depth wrestling skills put him at 2 above Micheals.

1. Ric Flair
Just amazing all around, best on the mic, best in the ring.

10) Lou Thesz

He was before my time, but if even half of the great things I've read and heard about him are true, he deserves to be on any top ten list. I put him at #10 simply because I haven't seen enough of him to compare him to the guys that have been at it the last fifteen years (my time).

9) Chris Jericho

Sure, he's never quite gotten the respect he deserves, but there's no arguing with his Undisputed Title reign or his multiple runs with the Intercontinental and Cruiserweight titles. Even when his storylines are not the center of a RAW broadcast, they are always among the most compelling.

8) Ted Dibiase

In my opinion, the greatest heel in wrestling history. I've never hated a character more than I hated the "Million Dollar Man" when I was a kid. The greatest wrestler to never hold one of the "Big Two" world titles, Dibiase will probably never really get the respect he deserves.

7) Kurt Angle

At this moment, there is no one in the world better than Kurt Angle. I've been watching him for three years now, and can not remember a time when he hasn't executed a move to perfection. There is almost literally nothing he can't do.

6) Ricky Steamboat

While not quite as high-profile as some of the others on this list, Steamboat will certainly be remembered for putting on some of the greatest matches of all-time (Randy Savage @ WMIII, any time he fought Ric Flair), and for being one of the smoothest performers in history.

5) Curt Hennig

There may never have been a better technician than Mr. Perfect. For proof, watch his Summerslam '91 match with Bret Hart. Hennig could carry a good match with almost anyone, but never got the top spot he deserved. Had he lived just a bit longer, that might have been remedied.

4) The Rock

I was debating whether to include the Rock on this list at all. He's not exactly the best in-ring performer (though he is quite good). He's not the best on the microphone (though he is quite good). He makes this list because of the impact he's had outside of wrestling, not in the ring.

3) Bret Hart

Another career that was stopped short for tragic reasons (Goldberg, the stroke), Bret Hart could have made it to the very top of this list, but now I don't think he ever will. A brilliant in-ring performer and the ultimate sympathetic babyface, Hart will have to settle for third-best on this list.

2) Shawn Michaels

I know I'll catch some crap for putting Michaels ahead of Hart, but think about it: what did Hart accomplish that HBK did not? Who has continued to compete at a high level, putting on Match of the Year candidates into what should be the twilight of his career? Michaels, that's who.

1) Ric Flair

Simply the best. Ever. I don't know what else needs to be said about the Nature Boy that hasn't already been said on these forums or in any number of other places. Has almost never put on a bad match, can carry anyone both in the ring and on the mic, and has the most incredible presence ever.

It's way too damn hard to pick ten, out of all the countless greats out there, but I'll try. I'll probably end up changing my mind a thousand times after writing this, but for the moment, these are my top ten wrestlers of all-time:

10) Rey Mysterio, Jr: Without a doubt, the best cruiserweight wrestler on the planet, possibly of all-time. The man absolutely defines everything a cruiserweight should be: energetic, blindingly fast, and packs enough style to make just about everything he does look good. True, he doesn't draw the monster crowds like the main event players, but I still think he deserves a spot on here for being the greatest luchadore there ever was.

9) Lou Thesz: same reasons as Loopydate that he's on here, and why he's so low

8) Chris Benoit: in terms of technical wrestling, probably the best wrestler in the world today. His only problem is his lack of "pizzazz" (I won't say "charisma," because he's got it in the same way Arn Anderson did) and his mediocre promo skills, but in the ring, I honestly don't think even Angle or Jericho can touch him (keep in mind we've only seen Angle when he has to wrestle the restrictive "WWE style") In his 18-year career, he's practically done it all, but never really got the accolades he deserves until recently. He may not be the best there was or ever will be, but my money says he's the best there is.

7) Curt Hennig: It's really a shame that he never got a hold of any World Titles, because he had just about everything a heel could ask for: charisma, unparalleled mat skills, and that finesse that just makes a crowd love to hate him (I see that in Chris Jericho, too) His matches with the likes of Bret Hart were among the best WWF had in that day, and he could've easily been one of the biggest names in the business hadVince seized the opportunity. He will definitely be missed.

6) The Rock: He's like Hulk Hogan, except with skill and without the ego. When he stepped up to fill in for Austin, he quickly became one of the most successful names the business has ever seen. The man practically bleeds charisma, and although the predictability of his matches could be annoying for the folks at home, practically nothing would pop a crowd louder than his spots or singing along with his promos. In terms of entertainment value, few if any could match the Rock when he's on top of his game.

5) Stone Cold Steve Austin: Before the Rock catapulted from main events to main stream, WWF's flagship wrestler laid down the foundation on which Rocky was able to stand. The Austin/McMahon feud made some of the defining moments of the Attitude era, and if anyone should doubt Austin's skill in the ring, I emplore you to check out Austin/Bret of Austin/HBK from the two consecutive Manias. Say what you will about his current character, but Austin was definitely the top performer of the late 90's in my opinion.

4) Shawn Michaels: You know who Shawn Michaels is, dammit! I put him lower due to the rather notorious bullshit he pulled in his day. Still, even if he was a scumbag off-screen, he was amazing in the ring and on the mic.

3) Sting: This was the guy Ric Flair decided to pass the torch to, and for good reason: he was incredible. Every bit as good as HBK in the ring in my opinion, and not a complete chode behind the scenes, he was the heart and soul of WCW up to the day they closed their doors forever.

2) Bret Hart: Simply put, the single greatest technical wrestler of the 20th century. I need not continue.

1) Ric Flair: No question about it. Back before Vince brought his promotion to the mainstream, when wrestling was "sports-entertainment," and shows were still more than advertisements for the monthly PPV, there was one name that stood above them all: Flair. You all know why Flair was awesome, so I won't keep going on about it. Just remember, though: he's still an active member of the Raw roster, even though he's about 20 years past his prime, and he can still keep up with the fast-paced style of today. No one, absolutely no one, could tell a story with his matches like the Nature Boy

Other honorable mentions:

Bruno Sammartino
Ted Dibiase
Terry Funk
Ricky Steamboat
Chris Jericho
Kurt Angle
Owen Hart
Big Van Vader
Mick Foley
