View Full Version : RVD's lack of push

There was a lot of talk amongst some of the workers last night about Rob Van Dam being de-pushed in recent weeks. Rob worked another Velocity match making it his second appearance on two weeks on the show.
We had originally thought that the lack of push could have been associated with his contract. We have been told though that some sort of short term deal had been struck. It looks to be a case of WWE just simply not pushing him.

RVD was obviously a fan favorite in the United States Championship Fatal Fourway. How could the writing team possibly not come up with something for the guy?

I really don't know what to say, aside from that sucks. If this keeps up, wacky antics will not ensue. RVD is too damn cool to be a Velocity regular. :-\

Check my column out on the topic. I literelly just read that PWInsider tit-bit and wrote it....I'm very passionate on the matter :,(

I don't understand this, people bitch about Ric Flair being repetative....yet RVD does 5 moves in WWE. Granted he was great in ECW, but I noticed that his technique in ECW was so sloppy that he was a danger to himself and others on many occasions.
I don't like RVD. I think his promos are laughable, and his gimmick is well....dull. "Hi, I'm R-V-D...and I like-a the weed." I just...no.
Now if he were to recapture that cocky gimmick he had in ECW, shook his move set up a bit, and quite half assing it in the ring, he could really go places. I just don't think he has much of a passion for wrestling anymore. Burned out before his time I supose.
Fuck, I don't know why Vince does this to talented guys. It's been said so many times, so I don't know what else to say except:
Fuck you, Vince.

RVD was at once good. But since Vince dosen't want the high risk wrestling,RVD will forever be under utilized and will forever be remember for his matches with Jerry Lynn. That and being beaten by Orton.

Hail Hail the future of the WWE.
*Hails Randy Orton*
The subject of RVD has been spoken about so many times. The bottom line is that they missed there chance to put the belt on RVD from the invasion to the time when HHH crushed him thus making him look uncredible.

RVD on Velocity is a good idea. He could actually gain interest to the show if they do this right. RVD is low on my list of deserving WWE Championship holders, and I think bitching about his position on the card is wrong. A guy like Triple H doesn't deserve to in the main event, yet a guy like RVD does? I call that hypocritical. I think the new guys, and guys that have done heaps for the company should be getting the primary slots. Filler talent like RVD, should be used in secondary placements unless something else becomes available.

Wow you just crushed Rob Van Dam. Talked about him like he was the monthly hoss that just debut and started destroying cruiserweights left right and center.
RVD has been given nothing to work with for the past 3 years. Yet, he still is one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE. RVD's ticket is in the cocky heel that he was in ECW. The WWE should play up to that. They would be stupid not to.
It would be like pushing Stone Cold as a stuck up blue blood character(like HHH's first gimmick)
It would be like giving The Rock a manager to do his talking for him
It would be like giving Triple H no character and letting his in ring coughcough *wrestling ability* bring him to the top
It would be like pushing Chris Benoit with promo's instead of his wrestling ability
It would be like pushing JBL's wrestling ability instead of his promo's
The WWE has taken away that one special thing that RVD has got that would make him a huge draw. His cocky badass heel attitude. RVD will not make it if he's not given anything else but that.

The reason why RVD is not being used now is because there no room for him building to Summerslam. Smackdown can only produce 4 or 5 matches for the card.
They got the WWE title match between Taker and JBL.
Eddie vs.Angle
John Cena will be the top face going for the US title.
Tag and Cruiserweight titles matches.
RVD sucks anyway

RVD hasn't been given a whole lot to work with, so you can understand a lack of incentive to shake up his moveset.
It's been said on these boards for ages now that RVD needs a heel turn, preferably with Heyman as a Manager, because Heymans mic skills are astounding.
HEEL TURN PLEASE!
All they need to do is give Eddie a program with RVD, and turn RVD heel halfway through the program.
Golden matches, Golden stories, Golden times = Viewers + good money for Smackdown
