Hi I'm new. Just wanted to post this news article I stumbled upon. I think John Cena would make a good actor actually.

WWE Jumps to Big Screen with 'Marine'

Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment is making its first foray into the feature film ring with a project called "The Marine."

John Cena, the professional wrestler known to fans of WWE's weekly UPN series "Smackdown!" as the self-proclaimed "Doctor of Thuganomics," is in negotiations to take the title role. He would play an injured Marine who returns from combat to find his girlfriend inadvertently caught up in a kidnapping.

The $15 million feature is scheduled to begin shooting in mid-September. Sources said 20th Century Fox will distribute the film. Fox declined comment.

The film will be directed by John Bonito, the commercials veteran behind the Arena Football League 2004 campaign, featuring Jon Bon Jovi and John Elway.

I can't see the Doc as a marine.

Orton, maybe, but not Cena. He doesn't have the look for it, that and I'll be expecting him to start waving his hand in front of his face during a big battle scene.

They should make a movie where Orton just goes around RKO'ing people throughout the day. Like he'll jump out of bushes and hit an RKO on the postman. You know, stuff like that :D

Actually, I think that sounds like a great idea for an MTV series. Kinda like Ashton Kutcher's show, only Randy doesn't suck like he does :shifty:

P.S. - The Fugitive, you have my new favorite avatar that isn't my own

Might be okay, but not many movies starring WWE guys have done too well, so we'll have to judge it if it happens.

LMAO at My Final Heaven. Too bad I repped your recently already.

Anyway, my posed question is this: If the WWE writers can't write for shit for their live shows, what in the world makes you think they can write a good movie?

15 million is low budget these days...My guess is that this will be Vince's next XFL.

No, not really. I can state my opinion, but when it comes to explaining my reasoning, I find it hard to explain. Guess that's why I've been hesistant to post.

And thankyou MFH. :)

Sadly I will probably see it anyway just because its a wwe film but other than that it doesnt sound so promising. It sounds like every other action movie ever made.
