If that happens, I just might watch Smackdown!.

Holla.
As if his token ghetto slang wasn't getting old fast enough with his Veolcity appearances.

Well there goes the idea of the new GM being a face. :|
Mr. Nerfect

Teddy can play the face. Beli' Dat! BTW, just a few weeks ago I was sure people were creaming themselves over Long and were really hoping he would be GM. :-\
Oh well, he can always ditch the slang.

<font color=cyan>........................
The dude isn't over enough to be the GM!!! He has a catch phrase, and that's it! They can use Linda, Shane, Steph, Heyman, Sable, Mick Foley (Well, he's still on the website's roster, and they could do it to "say sorry for what Ric Flair said in his book), The Coach (Move him to SmackDown, he could be a CW)... Teddy Long is gonna suck.

I agree with Always, I think the Coach would make an excellent GM. He's got the cocky heel thing, along with the weakling thing in the ring. Like a GM should have.
Damn shame William Regal's on Raw if you ask me. The best commissioner ever would make a fab GM.

Sweet...finally Long is back on TV. As much as I want to see it, I doubt the WWE will actually push Booker though.

Is it me, or do you think they could've taken Long, Jazz, Mack and possibly Booker T higher than it was?

Same here.
Hopefully Teddy Long's GM run will give Jindrak a midcard rub.

fuck Jindrak. "Yay I can do a dropkick". Has no talent and no charisma
Kane Knight
07-25-2004, 10:25 PM
I agree. The only thing that makes Jindrak look good is his manager.
Without Teddy, he's shit.

Teddy shall be interesting although I wish they Resigned Stone Cold or get Mick Foley to do it
Smackdowns changin GMs quicker than The Raptors changing Head Coaches lol
Kane Knight
07-25-2004, 10:28 PM
Stone Cold is a REALLY bad idea. His last GM role really sucked up Raw.
That'll get old quick.
He was a comedy act as a manager, plain and simple. Teddy Long used to be a fucking referee, for Christ's sake. GM's should have some legendary type status, either being a McMahon, formerly owning a promotion, being a former HOF-type wrestler, etc. Having someone like Long would be a joke, and I don't think the fans will believe that he deserves to be the GM of Smackdown.

In the events I've seen in this area, Long got bigger pops than many of the wrestlers. Don't know why, but that was as a ref.
Besides, a ref is supposed to be in a position of authority. We all know better, but GMs aren't much better off 50% of the time.
Either way, I don't want him as a GM. But if he wants to make Smackdown! Suck worse than Raw, it's a good start.

5 months ago I would have thought this would be sweet. But he hasn't been on SD in so long I don't really care about him anymore.

It'd be awesome at first, but I can also see how it'd get old. We'll see how it goes.

Oh Heavens No! *smashes head against nearest wall* That is going to get old fast, more so with his slang talk.

Eugene + GM Role = Musical Chairs to determine who would get an IC shot
Teddy + GM Role = ????

That might be funny to see him get his people to the top. Soon we will be seeing the black army of smackdown.

Didn't he use to be a ref?

<font color=cyan>Triumph The Insult Comic Dog for GM!!!
Hired Hitman
07-27-2004, 06:40 AM
YES, I would mark out if they made Triumph the GM
Triumph: Kurt Angle, your request for a WWE Championship match has been commissioned... FOR ME TO POOP ON! NO Title SHOT!
FourFifty
07-27-2004, 06:43 AM
<font color=cyan>Yeah, I'd get a Triumph GM shirt... On the first, it'll have the SmackDown logo, with his face above it, and below it it says "This is a good show" and if I have to type down what goes on the back, then you don't know who Triumph is.
My Final Heaven

I still want them to make HAL 9000 the GM... :'(

I told my boss about Teddy Long being the new GM of SD! and he said "He probaly won't do better than Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle had some good matches on Smackdown but really it was all Bischoff, he runs both of the shows." :wtf:
To which I replied "Bischoff doesn't have any power on either show. Vince isn't stupid enough put Bischoff in any power."
He stared off into space for a couple of seconds thinking about what I said, then turned to the other guy I work with and changed the whole subject.
Stupid fucking marks.
Stupid fucking Jeff Hardy marks.
Fixed.
Heyman
07-27-2004, 01:16 PM
They should just do the obvious and make Shane McMahon the new GM.
HEEL Shane McMahon. Not the gay ass good guy that we saw last time.
jindrak
07-28-2004, 03:48 AM
I would only want to see SMH as GM if she came to the ring in those tight shirts and those skimpy short skirts. :naughty: Of course, when she proceeds to talk, I would MUTE her.
In all seriousness now- Teddy Long will become stale quickly. Also SEE MAYO's POST. Long was good for one show when he replaced Bischoff, but can you see him as GM every week? As GM he would get major TV time, and there is no way his persona can hold the interest of fans week after week after week...
A perfect GM choice would've been Heyman- He is PROVEN, and you just can't go wrong with him. He plays the heel role to perfection, and he is able to put over talent. That is what Smackdown! desparetely needs- To have talent being put over! Who better than Heyman?
