View Full Version : Bischoff

It's funny how the Smackdown! GM role gets tossed around more than the WCW title in it's dying days. First Steph then Heyman then Angle then somebody new.
On the other hand, we have Bischoff on RAW. His role was GM has never been questioned. Austin was the co-GM/Sheriff/village idiot but it never got in the way of Eric being the GM.
Also storyline wise, Bischoff tosses his power around all the time. I for one am getting tired of him having security escort a face out of the building because he attacked someone, yet stands by watching Evolution take down his World Champion.
He's a heel GM, thats what they do. He makes matches that garner to the crowd once in a while, but he's a heel for the most part.
Are you saying that you want a face GM on Raw? Face GM's usually don't last very long. I would prefer an impartial GM like Steph, and Heyman was impartial to an extent.

Nah its just that the WWE is contradicting itself. Back in March following Wrestlemania double X, Vince said he was tired of the GMs being very biased and in the pockets so to speak of superstars.
What's going on now? Angle was the most biased GM I've ever seen, and Bisch is well...Bisch.

Others on here have said this, but the whole heel GM thing is the most played concept in the history of wrestling at this point.
I think they need to come up with something else for these guys like Bischoff, Heyman, Long and so on.
I'd rather see them go back to managers and just have each guy build up a faction of talent like they did in the old days. That can lead to factions wars, which a lot of people seem to like.

They should have kept Heyman. He was the shit.
It is just the way that he has to act as a heel. Make matches that favour the heels and treat the faces like crap. BTW I couldn't stand Steph as GM. She just annoys me so much.
I wouldn't mind the WWE reverting back to not having an on-air GM for a while.
Just have Vince take a Jack Tunney type role, and only practice on air oversight in extreme situations.

I'm surprised Bisch is still GM. If they get a new GM, what else can they do with him?

His role was GM has never been questioned.
It did, back in January 2003. Vince gave Eric Bischoff 30 days to turn RAW around, or he'll be fired. Thus starting the whole Bischoff searching for Austin.

I like Eric Bischoff still incharge.

Yeah I like Bischoff as GM.Why don't they make the WWE champion GM of SmackDown! and whenever theres a new champ he should become GM,or something to that effect.
I think they ought to get rid of Bischoff and the whole GM idea completely.
Either that cut down the appearances of the GM on TV to only once every few weeks.

I was talking with a friend about this a couple of days ago, and I'm glad Bischoff's still GM, there's some consistancy in the WWE after all.

Here's the thing:
GM=plot device. That means that, regardless of what they say they;re there for, they're only really there to be a face for whatever direction the writers have in mind.
That being said, the "GM constantly asserting/abusing his authority" thing? OLD. BORING. Cut back the role a bit, because it's really getting even more clichéd by the minute!

Exactly, which is why I'm kinda glad Vince has officially declared the "Mr. McMahon" gimmick as dead.

To be Honest with you.
Ive been so used to Bischoff being GM of Raw that it wouldnt feel right if he wasnt anymore.
I hope he stays GM though knowing WWE he'll eventually lose some kinda match or something like that.
Plus on the WWE Intro Thing his face always flashes buy and you hear the Boos.
They don't do that for Smackdown for some reason.

Yeah, I still have the tape of the episode of RAW where EB was fired and then came back at the end of the night. He (Eric) has been GM & CO-GM of RAW for longer than 2 years, since July 1, 2002...Vince, IT'S TIME FOR A NEW RAW GM, PLEASE!
