- The 7/26 edition of WWE RAW drew a 3.6 cable rating, down from last week's 3.7 rating. Although official quarter hour numbers are not available yet, the Iron Man Match between Chris Benoit and Triple H did not draw well between the 10-50 minute mark. The match did pick up in the final minutes however.

We should have more detailed notes about the RAW rating later today along with weekend rating numbers.

Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story, which was released today, has an error in it.

WWE have had a reputation of manipulating DVDs, such as scrambling old school WWF logos and Rey Mysterios' post-mask WCW matches. And they can alternate audio, most specifically Victoria's entrance at Wrestlemania XX. And of course they can edit footage, such as Ultimate Dragon's entrance at Wrestlemania XX.

I also found out that they can edit names of cities and states. Located on the second disc of Benoit's DVD, there was a match with Eddie Guerrero on October of 1995. However, according to WWE, whom wasn't in the freaking building at the time, the match was in Albany, New York. It was in fact Albany, Georgia. By the way, if you look about five minutes of said match, you will see a kid get up from his chair with a Hogan shirt. If you see him, do his trivia section here at Wrestleview.com.

Brett Armstrong sent in the following...

Hey, im just adding to the news with him, I heard this straight off the Dan Patrick show on ESPN radio today…

Brock signed for a base salary of $230,000.

They proceeded to then joke around about wrestling and actually it was a little bit funny Dan was playing the part of Brock.

“Hey coach, when do we get the script for today’s game? Are we gonna win this one or lose…”.

“Okay, when I sack you, you then get up and grab a chair….”

They also debated shortly about if he would be more scrutinized for steroid testing and drug testing because of his WWE past.

They batted the issue around for maybe a minute more and moved on.

Just thought I’d pass that along for those of you who didn’t/couldn’t hear the program.

I knew the ratings would be crap this week. They should have known this through the ratings of the iron man match on smackdown last year. A diffeten gimmick would have worked better, a best 2 out of 3 falls would have been good, that way the fans know that the match won't finish 1 hour after it started so they would have to watch.

Yeah. Idiots don't seem to realize that when you say "Iron Man MAtch," it translates into "Most of the action won't happen til the end, so miss the first 55 minutes."

They should have thought this through, but then, this is the WWE.

The iron man match was good, but it could have been awesome and still been a piss poor draw. I would've preferred something a little less :|

Wasn't it just.

'Ok guys we have an hour taken up by one of the longest types of matches we can do, we need to keep the fans in TV land entertained so we can get more ratings than smackdown or we don't get the deal from viacom, so what else can we do to keep them interested?'

'How about a 1/2 hour long battle royal?'

'ohhh I love it, just add and extra 30 minutes of Diva search crap and we got ourselves a show. meeting ajurned'

Wait a minute let me get this straight....they changed the Wrestlemania DVD. I never even knew this. That sucks. How could those bastards minipulate what happened.

It's a good thing I recorded WrestleMania XX on tape.

This past Raw felt like those recap shows on TV where the production people couldn't come up with something on time so they just did a a filler show.

I heard last night on SportsCenter that Brock walked away from a $45 million dollar contract with the WWE, I guess he really wants to play football

I don't think it was that much... It was a lot, but $45 mil sounds a bit steep.

That the problem with WWE isn't a lack of good writing and booking, it's an understock of pieces of ass.

Why did Victoria Wrestlemania Entrance have to be edited?

I think their rights to the Tatu song expired or something.

They need to just go back to house music anyway. Though it was funny where they ran Edge's Zombie music at the Draft, then on the replay, theyedited him to the "You think you know me"theme.

That number is a work.

If the "real media" had bothered to do any research they could have found that out with one phone call, but I guess thats too much work.

These days, there's not really much reporting. You basically copy what you get off the wire. AP, Reuters, some similar source.

Combine that with some dodgier info from random gossip sources, and you have your "news."

The sports world ain't that much different from the world page or the Metro section.

One side effect is that it has made "reporters" lazy and unwilling/unable to verify sources.
