Return of the King was a great movie, but Gangs Of New York pretty much wasted 3 hours of my life. I don't understand how it got so much praise, it wasn't really interesting and the end got a bit confusing. The best thing in the movie was Daniel Day-Lewis, he's a great actor.

ROTK after thinking about it for a few days really wasn't that great. GONY is pretty good, but moreso because of Leo then DDL.

Gangs of New York came out at the same time as The Two Towers.

GoNY was vastly overated. LotR-3 wasn't as good as I hoped.

Daniel Day Lewis made Gangs of New York watchable
it might be because I have my hopes for Scorsese movies too high but I didnt think it was that great

Both were watchable. Neither rank as an all time favourite though.
