Ok, so I have had my DVD-RW for almost a month now, and i'm comfortable burning data DVDs in Nero 6. Next is installing and using DVDShrink, but before I do, what does it do, does it just compress the DVDs or does it burn them too?

I think you compress it with that and then burn with Nero 6, i'll probably figure it out anyway, but there's a couple of DVDs i have where I don't want to copy them, I just want to rip their contents to MPEG or AVI or whatever, can DVDShrink or Nero do this, and if not, what can?

Any other DVD movie copying tips would be appreciated too. :o

I have found that the easiest thing to do is use "any DVD" which unlocks protected movies, with "Clone DVD" which is easy to use and does the same thing that dvd shrink does except dvd shrink cant burn, clone dvd does.

DVDshrink was designed to shrink double layered DVD's to fit single layered re-writable discs, but now the 8.5GB double layer discs are available.

I have CloneCD, I think the Klown sent it me a while back, never used it though. :o

Are those things on Suprnova?

Also, how do you rip DVD stuff onto MPEGs / AVIs?

DVD Shrink DOES burn too.

To rip stuff, I thikn you need this program TMPEGEnc or some shit like that. I don't think that's the exact name or even the right program. Just check Google.

I'm confused now

Do I need TMPEG Inc in addition to DVDShrink?

Great program. Time consuming. But great. With it I burned some of AAA's foreign film favorites with subtitles into DVD format from Divx format for TMPGEnc DVD author to use. Quite useful.
