These are all of the possible candidates.

Dave chappelle.
AareDub
08-03-2004, 08:24 PM
Jackman.

Jude Law is the only one of them that is a decent actor.

I never knew Pierce Brosman was quitting. Or is this a hypothetical question?
Bad Company
08-03-2004, 10:15 PM
Brosnan had better not quit. He hasn't been too bad.
This coming from a Bond fanatic as well.

Will Bond ever end???
I like the 007 films, however, I just find that the more actors that play the character, take away from it a little each time.
It's just funny, when Brosnan was first made Bond, I did not like him, now, I'm like, "it's Brosnan or it's over". It might be the age, due to the age of the series, I find that the Bond character works better as more of a middle aged man rather than a young guy.
Roger Moore for the next Bond flick? :p

None of the above. Bring back Sean Connery.

:wtf: I heard yesterday that Orlando Bloom is first in line for that job.I heard that if they decide to do the next bond movie with the premise of Bond in his early 20's, then they'd pick Bloom most likely.

Clive Owen, he just reminds me of a cool Bond-like Englishman
Ewan McGregor is a much better candidate for Bond than Hugh Jackman.

Clive Owen.
Yeah, Brosnan was interviewed by EW and he said he's done. Rumors are also abound that its a ruse during contract negotiations, but I dunno. I think Pierce is a very underrated actor who can do more than just Bond, although he is the second best behind Connery.

Colin Farrell
Hugh Jackman gets my vote since I don't much about any of the other choices. Nobody can top Sean Connery in my opinion. From Russia Of Love is my favorite Bond film. I never really understood why Goldfinger is so damn popular. The only part that I really enjoyed was the car chase. Brosnan has been doing a good job even though Die Another Day was too much like Diamonds Are Forever.

I'd go for McGregor.
Tony Montana
08-04-2004, 07:28 AM
Ewan McGregor.

They announced Orlando Bloom did they not? I'm sure they made it official only yesterday.
Where did you hear that from? They're always rumors about the next Bond actor.

Interesting fact that I found out today, James Bond is the second longest running movie series of all time, trailing behind, Godzilla.

Owen, McGregor or Firth should be the only candidates, But to be honest I think out of those 3 Owen would be best pick as he's got the best look IMO.
Plus the other 2 don't need to do Bond to futher their image or profile as they are both over as fuck in hollywood.

Hugh Grant is the biggest pussy of all time.

Last I heard Brosnan was still possibly doing one more, but the producers are still hunting for a replacement.
The Mask

You've got a point there... but I still prefer the Monty Python guy they've got now. (Seriously, I know his name is like John Cleese, but I didn't want to embarass myself by misspelling it or getting it completely wrong. If his name was really Ralph Gleason I'd suddenly remember and feel like a stupid noob for saying John Cleese, so I said "the Monty Python guy" instead. Please make a note of it.)

One of the things about Bond is that he's handsome.
Most of those guys aren't.
And Jude Law I think is far too pretty to be Bond. And Orlando Bloom looks 16.
From what I've seen, Firth could pull it off in a classical Bond type way, and Bana would make Bond his own, and it would definitely put him over as a star.
I mean, if people love him despite The Hulk and Troy, then imagine what he would do in a generally flawless action film, a la the Bond series?

Eric Bana did a movie called Chopper a few years ago, he was fucking brilliant as Chopper Read. If he can pull that off he can do anything.

What Downunder said. He did a fantastic job as Chopper. Eric Bana is the man (Poida :D)

Jackman's a really good actor but Bond just isn't him.
It's not really Eric Bana either though, but he'd be better than anyone else on that list.
Roger Moore is still the man though when it comes to being Bond.

I'd say Hugh Jackman is the man for the job, but I saw on the news a few days ago that Eric Bana is currently top of the list for the part.
So take from that what you may.
