Rumors have been circulating that WWE management is considering bringing in a Superheavyweight Championship to one of their brands. The new title, if given the green light, will reportedly be named 'The Lardcore Championship' and could add a new dimension to, not only the superheavyweight division, but also the heavyweight division, allowing many smaller superstars to step up the the big time.
If these rumors are true, then it would seem that the cruiserweight division will suffer as a consequence, possibly being demoted to Velocity to play a similar role to that which the, now defunct, Light-Heavyweight Title once played.
One superstar, who wished to remain anonymous, was reported as saying 'If it happens, that's cool. It's about time they gave the big dudes something to fight for. Not to mention, it'd give guys like me a chance to get high on the card'.
With the recent release of Rikishi, do not expect the new title to come into being any time soon. It is likely that the WWE will wait for superstars Mark Henry and the Big Show to return to action before creating such a championship.

Hmm, I'm not sure I like the sound of that.
What is Vince thinking? :-\
