The 4400 on USA (Spoilers - Kinda)

Did anyone else follow this mini-series on USA for the last few weeks? I have watched all of the episodes, including tonight's conclusion to the mini-series.

If anyone else watched this (tonight's episode) - was anyone else like "WTF" at the end? Because I sure was...all that build-up for a shitty ass ending like that. :rant:

Ok, here was the finale (summarized), minus characters names since I don't remember them. :-\









The healing guy runs away after his brother tries to beat him up. Healing guy accidently uses his powers on him and incapacitates him. His mom tells him to get away from him, so he takes the car and runs away to that "4400 community" thing (the community owned by the guy with the beard.)

Lily (the only name I know) and the black guy run away from the comminuty. The guy finds out the doctor for Lily is disclosing info about the baby to the the beard guy and NOT Lily. It's found out the baby is carrying the gene for Sickle Cell Anemia, which usually only comes from black people.

The agent's son comes out of the coma, but is very detached from reality. He doesn't know who he is and just watches TV. He's eventually abducted by another government agent from DC (reffered to as THE ASSHOLE from this point forward). THE ASSHOLE locks up the son and performs the whole shitload of tests on him, saying they tested his cousin (the healer guy), but not the son. So his dad (the agent guy) and his partner bust him out. But the son wants to go back to the beach where he was knocked into a coma 3 years ago. They both go back there with all the main goverment agents after them (including the agent's boss and THE ASSHOLE). The son AND the dad get trapped in a weird beam of light and are put in suspended animation. They don't move at all, don't react to anything, but are breathing. The son and dad are interacting on some kind of mental level...

We then see that the son isn't really the son. His mind is that from someone (a human) from the future, who's job it was to save a dying human race in their time by "seeding" the 4400 back into this time. The agent is told that his son was supposed to be a channel between the agent and the 4400, but his newphew (the healer guy) interrupted the process. He's about to tell the agent how exactly he has to help the 4400, when THE ASSHOLE shoots the son, (only because agent's partner tried to enter the light, but was thrown back) bringing dad and son out of suspended animation and killing the mind of the future human. The son miraculously comes back, but this time he's actually his son, with no knowledge of anything that's happened after that night 3 years ago.

The last scene takes place 6 months later. Black guy and Lily are in a cabin in the woods, and she feels that "it's time." The both get in a car and drive presumably to a hospital. On the way, we see them driving on a road, and the tops of the trees on the side of the road bend towards the car as it drives off...
