List with me some gimmicks that are probably Wrestlecrap material, but worked so well that they will never be there.
Honky Tonk Mang
Undertaker
keep going.
I don't see why Taker is there since it is a pretty cool gimmick, but anyways...
Eugene (so far)
Heel Doink
Diesel
Goldust

Undertaker, because let's face it... if that gimmick was on anyone other than Mark Calloway, it wouldn't have lasted so long.
Eugene (for now)
X-Pac
Edge and Christian (at first...having them talk was a BAD idea, but they turned it to their advantage)
definitely Goldust (see Undertaker... if it were anyone else besides Dustin Runnels, that gimmick would have gone the way of Adrian Adonis)
The Genius Lanny Poffo?
definitely X-Pac... it was just a ripoff of his WCW self.

Well, JBL wasn't actually a bad gimmick... he's a bad person, but not a bad gimmick.
How about just plain Mick Foley? After all... it's basically a goofball who uses a sock as his finisher...

For a gimmick to "work" it has to draw money. If a gimmick works it can not be thought of as bad.

Mr Ass.
Think about it. People showed later on that they didn't like a "gay" gimmick (look at Billy & Chuck), but they loved a guy who was obssessed with asses...Including his own...In the most homoerotic show since the 70s Batman...

Irwin R. Schyster.
Everything about the gimmick screams Wrestlecrap, but Mike Rotundo (Rotunda?) was such a badass that he pulled it off.

Yeah, but then you get into the problem that WCW got into when they started saying "none of you have ever put any butts into the seats except for Hogan, Savage, and Piper." I'm assuming for this thread that they mean that the gimmick sounded stupid as hell at first, but the fans actually liked it, rather than whether or not it sold, because I'm sure that even some A-Train t-shirts have sold, but that doesn't mean that any of his gimmicks have worked.

I disagree that if the Undertaker wasn't played by Calloway, it would be crap. After all, Glenn Jacobs played a similar gimmick with the original Kane, and the Crow Sting was pretty close to Undertaker as well.

Damn you Deadly Heaven. I was gonna be first to say The Hurricane. Oh well.
Godfather
Al Snow
Mr Perfect (think about it, all his gimmick was was boasting about being good at everything, then proving it, but because of who Curt Henning was, it got over)
And Kane Knight, Batman was in the 60's, not 70's.
Your welcome in advance.
