Is that when Jericho won the title but had the decision reversed?

Cuz yeah... that was kinda shitty.

Utter bullshit... I guess they "tested" the reaction Jericho got, and I guess WWE didnt think it was big enough, cause he's only had one real (crappy) short reign... Still, Jericho IS in the record books as the first WWE Undisputed Champion...

Edit: I never noticed how much Hebner looks like Bush...

I think it was scripted to happen beforehand, but whatever.

everytime i see an old clip i always wish they hadn't got the F out, WWF sounds sooooooooooo much better, WWE just has no flow

I know it was, I'm just saying maybe they were testing out what kind of reaction he got incase they were going to give him the title for real...

i dont' see why they'd let one specific audience judge whether he deserves the title or not

I dunno, it was just a thought...

Then again, they must not listen to all audience since he hasnt been champion in over 2 years... He hasnt hardly even been in the main event scene for 2 years...

...cause he's only had one real (crappy) short reign...

To be fair, his reign did last three months, followed by a one-month reign from Hunter, a one-month from Hogan, a two-month from Taker, and a one-month from Rock. Brock I think had a three-month after that, so Jericho's reign wasn't really too short compared to the others of the year.

Yeah his reign was shittily booked, I'm just nitpicking to salvage a bit of dignity for Jericho.

WWE is fine, just as long as they don't put "The" before it.

(I thought about upping that old thread again because I recently watched the "What?" and "The Game" DVDs again...which were made after the name change but contained no blurring or any other modifications to the video. They were pretty good...you know what? Eff it, new thread!)

back to the topic at hand:

Jericho winning the WWE title that night was great. Jericho was slowly building momentum as a face, and unlike some others who had been pushed to the moon, Jericho had all the tools needed. His wrestling was great, his promos were excellent and just as catchy as the next-highest babyface (Rock)...and he had natural foils in the McMahon-Helmsley regime.

When Jericho won the title "for real", however...

Jericho had the longest reign in a 12-month span (November 2001-March 2002) for the most part (or at least one of the longest), but...it was booked like crap. He wasn't made to look like a credible threat, and he didn't act like the heel he was even when he first came in WWE, which made him so popular in the first place. It seemed way too obvious that he was there to keep the belts warm for HHH, and unlike Kurt Angle's first, and often comedic reign, the entertainment level was disappointedly low. After losing the belts, watching Jericho matches was somewhat of a sad affair...

I think Jericho can still do it...and actually, if they let him win some key matches (sometimes I think the only times he really won a match that "mattered" was when he beat Chyna to become the undisputed IC champ, not to mention his unexpected Survivor Series win over the heavily favored Stone Cold, Rock, and Angle)....for example, Jericho should have beaten HBK at WM19, no question. If Jericho gets a title win in the next two years (even if he has to go to SmackDown to do it), they could have another situation like Benoit's on their hands, and also make money off DVDs...Jericho could be the HBK of this time, bar none, just as Benoit almost 3 equal signs the Bret Hart of now.

I loved that RAW. I lived in PA at the time, and almost had a chance to go to that event. A buddy of mine that went to PSU got Big Show's hat that he had left there. But that was when anything could really happen on RAW. Jericho challenged HHH, made him put the title on the line, then got the APA to help out. Good times.
