Dec. 29, 2003
Two weeks to the day after one of the most shocking episodes of 2003, RAW returns live from San Antonio for what could be one of the most memorable nights in the storied career of Shawn Michaels. In front of his hometown crowd, HBK will challenge Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship -- a match that was created as the final act for Mick Foley as Co-General Manager of RAW before he walked out two weeks ago.

Also on RAW, the buzz from the events of Dec. 15 has not died down as Foley's actions are still being spoken about by everybody on RAW! During his last night as RAW Co-GM, Foley promised a meeting with the WWE Board of Directors, a meeting where he was to present more than one million signatures on the petition to bring back Stone Cold Steve Austin to RAW. Foley also invited Austin himself to return!

In-ring action tonight will include a six-woman "Happy Holidays Match" featuring Trish Stratus, Lita & Stacy Keibler taking on the team of Miss Jackie, Victoria and Women's Champion Molly Holly.

How will Eric Bischoff react to Foley's departure from two weeks ago? Will HBK make this a homecoming to remember? Only one way to find out ... join WWE for the final RAW of 2003, live from San Antonio at 9/8 CT on Spike TV!

Here we go!

The_Firestorm
12-29-2003, 09:05 PM
This should be good. Doubt that HHH will lose the title though.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:06 PM
I'm not expecting HHH to lose the title either. Should be a good match though

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:07 PM
I'm suprised JR and the King haven't gone deaf yet from those pyros

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:08 PM
HHH's new video thing for the versus screen is funny.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:09 PM
Here's Randy. Wonder what this is going to be? Gloat time as usual? For a match that never happened?

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:10 PM
smart coward? isn't that a kind of oxymoron?

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:11 PM
did the bell even ring for that match?

wrestling_god
12-29-2003, 09:12 PM
Booker T nice

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:12 PM
OOOh Orton and Booker T, this has my attention now!

/edit
ugh i thought the henry/booker feud was over :(

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:13 PM
Booker vs. Orton? I can see that.

Mr. JL
12-29-2003, 09:16 PM
The feud that won't end... Part 2

Mark Henry & Booker T... why? Hasn't Booker suffered enough?

Volchok
12-29-2003, 09:21 PM
Scott Stiener.... havent we sufferd enough?

PoisonIvy
12-29-2003, 09:21 PM
What be happening? Cableless here.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:22 PM
At least we got RVD, so hopefully, he'll make the match watchable

SuperSlim
12-29-2003, 09:23 PM
so what has happened so far. I'm not watchin it right now?

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:24 PM
What be happening? Cableless here.

Opening segment was Orton gloating and having Lilian call him the new hardcore legend. Booker T comes out to challenge him to a match tonight for the IC Title. Mark Henry attacks Booker T from behind on the ramp way, Orton accepts the challenge.

First match is RVD vs Scott Steiner.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:25 PM
where's M-A-G anyway?

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:29 PM
RVD beats Steiner

Next we have a "Heart Break Klassic" that shows clips from Royal Rumble 97, the last time HBK wrestled in San Antonio. They showed him beating Sid.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:32 PM
gee, Coach healed fast

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:33 PM
gee, I wonder who?

Mr. JL
12-29-2003, 09:34 PM
RVD-Steiner was actually pretty good. I just wish they'd give RVD something other than just an opening match with no real storyline behind it. Steiner has improved since he debuted in the WWE, but RVD still carried Steiner on his back.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:34 PM
no suprise there

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:35 PM
Clips are shown of the Jericho/Christian attacks last week. Then we cut to backstage to see Christian shouting at Jericho about how Jericho ditched him for a girl. Christian walks off angry and Jericho looks hurt.

Now we cut to Coach at the board of directors meeting. He says Linda McMahon is going to argue for Stone Cold to return to Raw and then Vince walks by. Vince says that he will be on the side against Stone Cold's return. It sounds like its going to be some kind of one on one debate with a vote following or something.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:36 PM
I'm suprised Eric is allowing RAW to show Smackdown footage

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:37 PM
Well, they're going to vote for Austin to come back, because remember, Mick said Vince wasn't in a right frame of mind, so I'm sure they're going to use that.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:41 PM
AARGHH!! I'm so sick of seeing/hearing that stupid Final Fantasy X-2 commercial.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:42 PM
As am I

wrestling_god
12-29-2003, 09:44 PM
if you wear khaki pants you cant be aref...ask JR

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:45 PM
 I know, I was like, what do khaki pants have anything to do with refing?

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:45 PM
Dudley Boyz vs Russell Simpson and Eddie something
Special Ref: Ric Flair

Are these guys from RoH or something? I heard there were going to be a lot of them backstage tonight and possible getting some dark matches. If so, I really didn't expect to see any on the show.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:47 PM
Gee, I smell Dudleyz vs. Flair/Batista at RR.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:49 PM
Russell and Eddie win as Flair dq's the Dudleyz for using a closed fist punch. The Dudleyz attack flair, but are stopped by Batista running to the ring.

Another Heart Break Klassic shows HBK beating HHH at Summerslam 2002

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:49 PM
HHH sure bladed in that match.

Mr. JL
12-29-2003, 09:50 PM
What was that Eddie guy's last name?

Azriel
12-29-2003, 09:53 PM
I guess this is the beginning of their new campaign

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:54 PM
Gonna eat. Somebody else can take over play by play if people are still reading it. Mine isn't really all that good anyway lol.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 09:55 PM
What was that Eddie guy's last name?

They never printed it on screen but it sounded like Grable.

Hopefully, it'll lead to bigger things for the Book.

Fryza
12-29-2003, 10:13 PM
That was Kane? I thought Henry just lost weight...

:shifty:

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:13 PM
Damnit. Are they like required to show a Final Fantasy commercial at every break? Enough already.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:13 PM
Did Kane just drop down into the IC Title picture? I came back from the Kitchen and all I saw was Kane standing over Booker T. I guess that means no more World Title (or whatever it's called) push for him?

Savio
12-29-2003, 10:15 PM
JR: All the fans will get behind boker T!!!

what if they liked randy orton
------------------------------------------------
Stone cold should come as an annoucer along with Chris Jericho and Mick Foley should interview with coach.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:15 PM
Unless he's just attacking everyone in sight.

Mr. JL
12-29-2003, 10:17 PM
Bookers been shafted from day one since he came to the WWE. His first match is against Buff Bagwell. The no good, try to do as little as possible and get paid, all I can do is pose Buff Bagwell. Then Hunter waits for 30 seconds after the Pdigree to pin Booker at Wrestle Mania.

Tonite... Mark Henry punks him out, then he jobs to Randy Orton. Then Kane kicks his ass. This Kane-Booker feud could be pretty good though, if it happens.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:18 PM
Unless he's just attacking everyone in sight.

Yea, that might be it. I'm sure they had plans for the title match already so they just needed him to attack one of the big faces from Raw.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:26 PM
Now there was a nice view

wrestling_god

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:36 PM
Wow, there's a good 40 mins left in the show and the main event is starting. Too bad I get the feeling they aren't going to let this match take the whole time.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:36 PM
*checks clock*

bit early aren't they?

Volchok
12-29-2003, 10:38 PM

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:38 PM
Hey, he's not wearing the shorts anymore. I guess he got his upper leg muscles back.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:39 PM

Mr. JL
12-29-2003, 10:40 PM
Man, I've never been more excited for a match in a long time. Should be good!

moshingfreak
12-29-2003, 10:41 PM

Probably won't be match of the year quality, but hopefully it'll come close.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:44 PM
It won't even be near match of the year quality..

I'm looking forward to seeing how this Stone Cold thing plays out.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:50 PM
I'm liking this so far.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:50 PM
Nice...commercial break right in the middle of the match. So far its a pretty good match for having HHH in it.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:50 PM
Sorry, we have to interrupt this entertaining match to bring you this special announcement from Final Fantasy X-2.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:52 PM
I'm sure its a good game and all, but do thety really need to shove it down our throats?

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:52 PM
Not only that, a Smackdown: HCTP commerical. Goodness, these are getting really, really annoying.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:52 PM
I'm sure its a good game and all, but do thety really need to shove it down our throats?

Yes. It isn't true WWE style if it isn't shoved down our throats.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:53 PM
Well, that I understand since its a WWE product.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:53 PM
Final commercial break. Until the next one, of course.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:54 PM
Yeah, I do believe they have one more

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:54 PM
I'm sure its a good game and all, but do thety really need to shove it down our throats?

The way I see it, anybody who cares about the game already knows it's out. Anybody who would've given it a shot based on the commercials must have gotten the point after the first two or three times. There's no need for one during every single commercial break. Is that game the sponsor for Royal Rumble or something? Hmm I better stop talking, the match is back on :)

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:54 PM
So, how long before Hebner gets knocked out?

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:54 PM
Wait...if the title match is going to be over soon-ish...are they going to leave the 11:00-11:15 or whatever it is now slot for the Stone Cold thing? God I hope not. Also, if I hear Cerebrial Assasin again, i'm going to puke. Didn't he leave that gimmick the last time he got injured.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:55 PM
So, how long before Hebner gets knocked out?

LOL. Hebner gets nocked out, Flair interferes, HBK makes a HUGE comeback for a pop, only to lose.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:56 PM
You know, I think it is ketchup now that you mention it.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:57 PM
Eewww..did you see his sholder? that looks gross as hell.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 10:58 PM
Hopefully he landed on it okay.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:58 PM
I doubt it is actually dislocated like our friends King and Ross said, but it sure as hell didn't look normal.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 10:59 PM
You know, I think it is ketchup now that you mention it.

I just checked, it was the sponser for Armageddon. Didn't see who is sponsoring the Rumble.

thebitch
12-29-2003, 10:59 PM
I'm not sure if it is sponsoring Rumble, but I think it sponsors both RAW and Smackdown as well.

Azriel
12-29-2003, 11:00 PM
Ahh, okay. That makes more sense.

wrestling_god
12-29-2003, 11:00 PM

thebitch
12-29-2003, 11:02 PM
LOL. I went to WWE.com and then to the Royal Rumble page, and it has a little picture of the Playstation logo, so maybe that is sponsoring Rumble?

AareDub
12-29-2003, 11:02 PM
Damn, HHH is selling the hell out of that figure four. It looked like he really did hurt his leg, kinda looked like it was spasming or something. What do you guys think?

Azriel
12-29-2003, 11:03 PM
Nah, I think it didn't hurt that bad. These guys have experience selling these moves.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 11:05 PM
Yea, it seems to be ok now. I just thought it was an interesting way to sell the move when HHH started biting his own hand to fight the pain. I've never seen that before lol.

AareDub
12-29-2003, 11:07 PM
So, how long before Hebner gets knocked out?

Right about now :p

Azriel

12-29-2003, 11:20 PM
How did Austin ruin the match when he came out after it was done?

Volchok
12-29-2003, 11:21 PM
wow HBK won the title and bishoff counted... wait he was facing HHH right... he didnt win... i can see it now... HBK Vs. HHH Royal Rumble HBK wins, Jericho wins Royal Rumble ala HBK Vs. Jericho Wrestlemania... wooooooooow deja vu

thebitch
12-29-2003, 11:26 PM
How did Austin ruin the match when he came out after it was done?

He ruined the atmosphere. It was all awesome and everything the way that they pulled that ending off (never would've guessed it, honestly), and then Austin comes out and says he's the new sherrif, blah blah blah, Stunner, drinks, and the camera goes off.

It was a horrible ending to a overall decent show.

Savio
12-29-2003, 11:27 PM
I'm tired of HHH having the title

Austin just ****ing sux now. Way to kill an almost PPV quality match.

John la Rock
12-29-2003, 11:54 PM
I thought that the main event was great. Both guys looked great out there like usual and they put on a PPV quality match. I was so happy when HBK won, until it was actually a draw and HHH retains.

I don't know what you people are talking about. Austin's new role sounds pretty cool. It's pretty much the same co-gm job but know he gets to stunn any one he pleases. Plus, he's all ready booked a re-mach between HHH and HBK, probably at Royal Rumble with Michaels going over.

Raw was great this week and can't wait to see what happens next week

AareDub
12-29-2003, 11:57 PM
Who isnt?

Me! HHH is still my favorite wrestler of all time. People wouldn't have been so bored of him this year if he had some decent opponents. Steiner, Nash, Goldberg.... wake me up when it's over. As you saw tonight HHH can put on very entertaining matches when he's got a decent worker on the opposing side.

The CyNick
12-29-2003, 11:57 PM
Great main event, I even liked the finish. Lets face it, anyone who is thinking logically knows that HHH is not going to drop the title anytime soon. At least with what they did HBK still looked like a hero, and at the same time HHH got to retain his title. The finish was creative, and it sets up nicely a rematch at the Royal Rumble, which if its anything like this match should end Hunter's streak of horrible PPV main events.

I dont think HBK has the title in his future, if anything I can see a match with Flair coming out of the Royal Rumble for Mania. I know their match at MSG a few weeks back got rave reviews, so maybe they'll have the big Garden rematch at Mania.

Rest of the show was decent enough.

I liked Orton's promo to start the show, I think he's showing a lot of promise, and a match with Foley could really make him a star. Match with BT was pretty good too.

Speaking of Book, looks like he's gonna be cannon fodder for Kane. I think the WWe realizes that Kane has been damaged by the fued with Shane, so they need to sacrifise a guy to build him back up so Taker can chop him down at Mania.

Women's stuff was decent, and they kept the Jerihco-Trish stuff going, although Trish could use some acting lessons.

Steiner-RVD wasn't a trainwreck which was a huge suprise to me.

I dont like Austin's new role (even though it hasn't been fully explained, which was a good idea BTW to keep people tuned in for next week) because I see where it will go which will be Austin killing everyone's credibility. And I guess Austin-McMahon is set in stone for Mania.

I hope that Orton claiming to be the Hardcore legend brings back Terry Funk for him to beat. Then Foley can come back to defend his friend.

I'd much rather see the Funker stay retired than be forced to job to Orton, the wrestling bowl of oatmeal. In fact, it'd be nice if they hadn't brough Mick out to be humiliated by him too, but since that already happened, I guess they oughta stick with it.

Triple H .vs. Shawn Michaels

This match was an awesome way to end the year of 2003. Triple H performed very well, in my opinion. Shawn Michaels was on fire, I honestly believed that he would win the title. 5 Star Match!

The only thing that bugs me is that it looks like its going to be Austin-McMahon at Wrestle Mania XX. I believe Austin's role should be bigger than beating up McMahon. I want to see...

holy cow..I haven't seen a match that good on RAW in years...and I haven't at least marked out so many times during one match for a long time...the psychology was excellent. (Referring to HBK/HHH of course)

Shit ending to an average looking RAW. Austin as Sheriff? Ok there. Who's the deputy? Debra?

By the way, the main event was great. :y:

Eh, having Austin back in some way is probably good for the WWE.

While it is true that the whole co-GM thing was getting a little bit stale, the crowds still popped for Austin more than anybody else on the Raw roster, and the guy sold more merchindise than anybody else in the WWE by far, so its a pretty safe bet to say that the WWE probably is still making a good deal of money by keeping him around.

As for the whole sheriff deal, it did seem kinda dumb, but I'll give the WWE the benefit of the doubt until they can run with this a little bit more.

Mick Foley walked out of RAW as GM, Steve Austin got fired off the position. So where else is he going to go? The writers couldn't think of anything else but have him give him the Sheriff position. It's just something fun for the kids who are Steve Austin fans. Lay off the damn negativity for once.

I thought it was a great way to bring in Steve Austin, to have HBK lose the match. :y:

But Steve Austin being brought back is horrible! I would rather have a consistant Steph-Vince fued on TV than have Stone Cold back. His new role will probably allow him to Stun anybody, at any time. So he runs into matches that he doesn't like or something stupid, stuns BOTH people (ie SD! In Baghdad), and ruins the credibility of both wrestlers.

We already have HHH on RAW. We don't need Austin as well.

What's your problem with Austin? Even if he did stun 2 wrestlers in a match they would not lose their credibility. Austin being back is a great idea. ANd I like the ending to the HBK-HHH match

So now any time the face loses, as long as the fans sign a petition, the match will basically become overturned and the LOSER will actually GAIN from the whole situation?

Makes no damned sense. Obviously Austin was going to come back, but this wasn't the way to do it, in my opinion.

The problem with Austin stunning everyone is twofold. First, it makes Austin seem tougher than everyone else on the roster. Nobody gets up from the Stunner, so Austin will do the move, and the guy will take a powder, that makes Austin look dominant. The problem with that is that Austin isn't going to be a full time worker anytime soon, so having him be dominant is akin to what Mcmahon was saying on RAW about feeding a kid candy everyday, its not good for them.

Second thing is that Austin will not be working any real matches ever again, so people who eat a Stunner have no way to get back at him in a physical manner. And if they were to attack him the person would look like a punk because Austin has a near broken neck. So its a no win situation, its kinda like getting into a fight with a girl, if you hit her you're an abuser, if she beats you up you're a pussy.

The other thing to consider is that when Austin was coming up as a star, Sgt Slaughter was a TV figurehead, how many times did Slaughter KO Austin? I'll answer it for you, never, and thats in part what got Austin over, because he looked tougher than everyone else and the fans rallied behind him. Had Austin been laid out week after week by a Cobra Clutch he wouldn't have got over like he did.

Ok Triple H vs. HBK now goes down in my book as one of the best matches of 2003, that was great, its been a while since there has been a Raw main event that lasted over 30min. great match.

Completely agreed, one hell of a match. I remember hearing alot of talk about HHH rarely selling moves, but he definitely did that monday night, especially the Figure 4. I couldnt watch it last night so I taped it, and the damn tape ran out right when Bischoff said that all shoulders were down, so I don't know exactly what Austin did. But as much as we want to see younger talent make their way up, you still got to give major props to the veterans HBK and HHH. Great way to end 2003.

Its just too bad HHH wont have that same match with a younger guy so they can make a new star or two.

bishoff declared HHH the winner and pissed off HBK flair attacked Hbk from behind and micheals gave him the sweet chin music turned around and laid out bishof. As Shawn was Leaving Bishoff told him he was fired for assaulting him...Glass shatters out comes austin says micheals is rehired because hes the sherrif of raw now and gets another title shot next week turns around stuns bishof shows over.

I don't mind Austin coming back, actually, though the way he came back basically nullifies the Survivor Series stipulations. I mean... THIS is the "really nice way of coming back" the writers were proud of themselves for thinking and were trying to keep secret? Okay...

But the end of that match was a huge emotional high. They could have conceivably pushed Austin's return to next week, and leave RAW on another cliffhanger.

On the other hand, does this just mean Foley's gone for good? They didn't exactly resolve that completely.

Interesting that they used that finish since HBK pinned Jericho the same way at Survivor Series and Batista the same way at Armageddon.

Great match though. Best from HHH all year.
