About the Diva broads: I seem to like the red head and the one in the red bikini tonight. Either way, they're all hot though Carmella should be voted out since she does have Playboy.

Evolution: HHH loves that title that Orton's got so you know he will do what it takes to get it back. Expect the turns tonight or soon.

I think she was the only one of the finalists who posed for Playboy. Candice and Karen, who were in the top 25 posed for Playboy. You might be thinking of Christy, but she only did the lingerie bowl. I think Amy might've posed for Playboy but I don't know.

Mayo
08-17-2004, 12:13 AM
I thought all along that this is what would happen; some people said that Hunter was going to turn face and Randy would stay heel. That definitely would not work since Hunter has turned before and it did not work very well. He is only at his best when he's a heel, and Randy is still young, fresh, and people really like this guy, so turning him face made the most sense.

Typical WWE mistake, they take an angle that should have run for 3 or 4 months and they blew their load in 30 minutes. Morons!

Also, could that have been any more predicatble? "Evolution is with you"...geez, I was waiting for Hunter to go "I swear man we're NOT going to turn on you....I swear bro! No really.....I swear!".

Anyway, they did a lot of damage to Orton after seemingly creating a new star. I dont get why they would have Orton come out and rip on the fans if they planned on turning him at the end of the night. You would think they would want him to get over, but I guess that doesn't make sense to them.

Now what they've done is they have a World Champion who is now at best a tweener. He cant be an ultra babyface because he's been ripping on the fans. I mean he might become a big face down the road, but I dont see the fans immediately getting behind him or feel sorry for him. And now he's lost the connection to the cool badass faction that rules the company. The way I see it he's in no man's land.

Also, now it seems like Hunter has to win the title at Unforgiven. I mean they have to do the match next month because with Orton as a face he cant duck Hunter, so they have to pull the trigger. I guess that means you have Orton chase Hunter to Mania, but now you've got a one month title reign which hurts the belt and the guy who had the belt. And also, the match will seem less special because people will have seen it on a lesser PPV a few months prior.

Also hurt by all this is Benoit, who was a total afterthought. Looks like he'll be fed to Batista next month, for what I'm sure will be a JOB.

I dont know, I think they made some big mistakes here tonight. I guess we'll see how it goes, but this reeks of another angle ruined in order to make HHH look superior to everyone else.

Its possible, but if this whole Evo turn on Orton is based on Hunter being pissed that Orton got the title instead of him, it makes absolutely no sense for HHH to let anyone other than himself to get the next title shot.

I mean they could do a thing where Orton says HHH shouldn't get a shot because he doesn't deserve it, but then Orton looks like a punk (re heel) and obviously thats not where they are going.

I think they've painted themselves in a corner to have HHH vs Orton next month.

AareDub

That wouldn't make any sense at all. Edge sees Orton get beat down because he has the belt an is not HHH, so next he joins with HHH and goes for the belt? If he were to win, shouldn't he expect the same thing to happen to him? No logic behind that one.

YEAH, it was definately rushed and a lot of us have been saying for months that it should be slow. But what's done is done and we'll just have to see how the WWE has this booked.

It was a good turn as I didn't see it coming. It was in the back of my mind, but I really didn't think they would do it tonight.

So, where do they go now? Well, I really hope they don't give HHH the Title until at least Survivor Series if he's getting it already. But I don't know how else they would book this thing where Orton isn't fighting HHH right away. There is no heel opponents for him to go against.

Yea, they pretty much fk'ed up here. If HHH does get the Title at Unforgiven, the only way I see Orton not getting hurt is if HHH wins with a lot of bullshit and stuff. No clean win or even close to one.

Cynick, you are so right.

After tonight, these are the things I am now pissed at:

1) Orton is out of Evolution. Evolution's theme song perfectly fit the World Heavyweight Champion. Now Jim Johnstone or some other fucker has to come up with a brand new theme. They'll probably come up with one like Shelton Benjamin's. All shitty.

2) Where does this leave one Mr. Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit? A stellar fued with Batista because Batista threw Benoit into the steps? I'll pay $35 to see Benoit/Batista (NOT).

3) Will there be a replacement for Orton's spot? You know, this is where a SEAN O'HAIRE would have fit very nicely in, or a Mark Jindrak... or as I think about it... maybe Maven? But not a Garrison Cade.

4) Orton is now a "Face". That fucking blows. The reason we LOVE Randy Orton is because he is a HEEL. Face Orton will not be as cool as Heel Orton.
- Just like The Rock. The Rock was tidious, hackneyed and boring after a while. But when HollyRock came back to the WWE in time for WM19, he was out of control awesome.

5) Just an observation: Did anyone see that GOLDEN RAZOR BLADE that Orton left in the middle of the ring? Or was that a piece of the gold confetti. It looked like the blade to me. How ridiculous is a GOLD Razor Blade?

Benoit just lost his title last night, jackass. He will probably face Batista at the PPV, and I see it more as a way to cement Batista's status to the upper midcard rather than to bring Benoit back to midcard hell. Guerrero just faced Kurt Angle, and they are both definitely main eventers. Just because someone is not in possession of the title or fighting for it doesn't mean they are midcarders.

Of course they aren't the same people, but I remember the SD that John Cena turned face, and he had made fun of the crowd earlier in the night. So pending on how the crowd reacts to him in the coming weeks, I don't see Orton having too much trouble turning face.

Whats funny is that I'm sitting here and I watched the HHH-Orton segment and I thought "ah shit they are going to do the turn tonight, man it would be awesome if they dragged it out". Then Batista put Randy on his shoulders and I just shook my head.

Yeah like you said, there's no logical way for HHH vs Orton to not happen at Unforgiven. Like I said, the only way to get out of it is a multi person match. I mean even Edge, who would make sense for Randy cant do it because he still has the IC title and seems destined to face JEricho at Unforgiven.

Oh dont worry, when HHH gets the title back it will be full of ref bumps, Evo run-ins and sledgehammer shots, but the bottom line is that the fans will see Orton only held the title for one month. Thats a tough way to create a new top babyface. I actually made the mistake of thinking Orton would be protected better, but it doesn't seem thats going to happen.

After that squash match that Guererro had against Angle, there really is no one left for him to fight, he'll be feuding with Rene Dupree this month. Batista into the upper-card may be the intention, but there's no way he'll get over enough, the result will be Benoit getting dragged down.

I was thinking that Edge could be the next member of Evolution. He'll always be a mid-carder, no threat to the Game and it just seems to fit.

The main thing that gets to me is that they knew they were going to turn Ortn face, so why would you have him crap ont he crowd? I mean that has to be one of the stupidiest bookign moves in the history of booking moves.

They are now relying on the fans being sympathetic towards Orton because he got his ass handed to him. I mean he cant say he's going to go through Evo one by one, we've all seen how well that worked for Edge in terms of getting over. And he cant even be a cocky heel, because he's a face now. The more I think of it, the dumber I think this is.

And worst of all, this should have been Randy's night. He just came off a clean win over Chris Benoit at a major PPV. He gets the big baloon ceremony, the video package, looks like a mega superstar. Then has another strong match with Benoit, but instead of RAW ending with the fans seeing a new superstar being created, what do we get? Oh yeah, HHH dominant once again.

But aside from that, I am glad this turn happened tonight. If they dragged it out, for me anyway, it would have been boring as hell because we knew this was going to happen at some point so dragging it out would just get annoying. But that's just me.

The difference is that the fans see Angle and Eddie as the top two guys on SD. JBL is a joke, so being out of the title picture on SD isn't really moving down the card. I mean the US title looks like the main title on the show.

I think people can see the writing on the wall with Benoit. All throughout his title run he played second fiddle to HHH and his angles. But at least Benoit had the belt to keep him at or near the main events. He did a clean JOB to Orton, and another JOB tonight. Now it appears he's destined for a program with Batista, who is not a main event guy. Perhaps Benoit will get a win, and stay near the top, but I would not be surprised to see Benoit lose yet again And if that happens, well he'll be finished as a top level guy.

Okay but first things first, this is wrestling, creating stars should be their main concern, last night I believe they took some steps backwards with ol Randy.

Second things second, you could also say it would make sense for HHH to make it seem like he's friends with Orton, let Orton get beat up for several months defending the title, and then after Orton has been weakened HHH can stick the knife in his back and take the title from him.

I mean I like him because he plays a cocky arrogant heel and he beats everyone. But if he goes baby, he's going to have to play to the crowd and he'll lose that arrogance. So I dont really know what to expect, I kinda expect him to become very bland as a babyface.

If you look at a guy like Cena, who a lot of people felt was turned too early, at leats his gimmick is such that he can come out do a rap on a guy, throw a jersey in the crowd, yell "The Champ is here" and the fans will go nuts. I dont see what Orton has that will get people to go crazy for him. Whats he going to say "I'm better than you, now cheer me"? Or how about "Ive done more at the age of 24 than all of you combined". I just dont see where his pops will come from. I think they are basing his face turn on some heelish crowds and the fact that people hate HHH. But look at Edge, he tried ot do the "evolution I'm coming for you" speech and fans dont give two shits about him.

Like I said, we'll see, maybe the fans are dying to cheer for him, but even when he came out on RAW, I dont think he got the kind of reaction that would make me think he's going to be a forsure thing as a babyface, especially this soon.

But in order for that to work, the fans have to be behind Orton like they were for guys like Rock, Austin and so on, back in the day. I dont see how that will happen, why would fans cheer for Orton after he told them they all suck?

I see this kinda like the Brock deal in 2002. Brock was a rising star, and won the title as a heel, but got cheered for the win. The WWE looked at this and figured "hey we gotta turn Brock". They did that, and I think most would agree it was too soon, the fans weren't really behind him like the past top babys, and the build for Brock to get the title back wasn't all that hot (I mean look at the Mania buyrate that year). The one good thing they did with Brock was that they had Taker put him over in a major match, which was something few people got to do. Then they did the respect deal and from then on, Brock started to act like a face. The difference with this is that Orton could have built off the respect thing he did with Benoit, but instead he reversed it and went back to being a heel. Now he comes off getting pummeled, and I dont think in 2004 thats enough to become a huge babyface.

I forget the saying. But it's like "people only remember the last thing" or something like that. Yea, totally botched it. But, I think the fans will forget about what Orton said in the begginning of Raw. They will feel sorry for him because he didn't even see the attack coming. They will sympathize for the fact that he was a sitting duck and didn't even know it. They will remember the image of him bleeding in the middle of the ring at the hands of Evolution. The tweener thing will help him though because he can act like Austin and say he never asked for the fans support.

Diva Search Girls in order of awesomeness:

1) Christy (ENERGY!... has the tits, the face and definitely the personality)

2) Marie (unique tits, i like them, banging face)

3) Joy (TITS, personality is showing thru now)

the other 3 suck. i hate Carmella, she was standing out there tonight like she owned the place. f that. shes a ringer and that sucks.

But what successful babyface ever got over by catching a beatdown?

Hogan got over because he beat everyone, and never sold anything.

Austin got over by being a badass redneck who talks trash and beats everyone up including his boss.

Rock got over by talking smack and of course beating on everyone.

I cant think of a case where a guy was a heel, then took a major beatdown and because of that became a major babyface. Obviously Orton will have to do some work, but especially if he's going to drop the title in Sept, I think this will be a major uphill battle.

how about a turn where Orton has Flair and Batista turn on HHH and say "fuck off", Im the World Champion.... I Run the Show!

HHH turns face and battles the cocky heel Orton who continuely wins with help from Evolution (now with Edge).

Yeah but then Orton looks like a dumbass for taking a beatdown from Evo and then saying "Thank you sir, may I have another?"

I think that should have been the angle before last night. I would have had Orton act even cockier, start to separate himself from Evo (I suggested a helicopter spot that would have ruled), show him living the good life. Eventually Orton gets Evo to turn on HHH syaing he's been holding them back and Evo is all about the gold, and since HHH couldn't get the job done, he's been booted.

The way it is now, Evo looks like puppets for HHH. I mean why does Batista of Flair care if Orton is champ instead of HHH?

Yeah, I was just trying to think of an instance, but can't. Has anyone ever gotten kicked out of a stable before and turned face? Well Farroq did, but that was nothing cause roles were reversed there then what we have now.

Orton better not be taken out next week. They NEED to end the show w/ Orton laying out all of Evolution with a steel chair and ending it with him standing strong over all of them.

Yeah and they might do that, but then of course in all likelyhood in 4 weeks or whatever it is, he'll fail and lose the title.

I was trying to think of something with the NWO where a guy got beatdwn and turned face, but couldn't. The thing with the NWO is that the more they beatdown guys, the more people would cheer them. I fear the same could happen with Evo now.

All I acn say is that Orton better come up with some catch phrases quick, otherwise I think he'll be in toruble.

From all these posts I can already tell Shelton Benjamin is forgotten, and most likely will never get a major push because of it. I thought Benjamin would be in Evolution for Randy Orton, but now I'm thinkin it'll just stay as Batista, Flair, and God.

No way. Mark Jindrack, Garrison Cade, Maven? Hell no.. I'd go with HBK or Edge.

Say they bring HBK into the fold. Who leads the faction then? It would be interesting to see HBK accept HHH's leadership

For some strange reason I can see this happen in the next few weeks in this order:

1. Benoit/Eugene/William Regal vs Batista/Flair/HHH with Randy Orton as special guest referee.

Benoit still could have a bad taste in his mouth with Benoit from the previous two matches with Orton and pissed at Batista for the outside activity. Eugene and Regal will be aiming at HHH. Flair can be.. well.. just Flair and go along with the flow. Orton being a special guest referee in a six man tag after having a bad taste with Evolution and Benoit. Of course Eugene will want some of Orton after some of the things he has said about him. The match goes no contest after Orton goes nuts on Triple H. Out comes the suprise of HBK in the aftermath. HBK acts as if he is ready to beat up on a battered Triple H. Orton stand there in amazement, HBK turns around and dropkicks Orton.

2. Cena goes up 2-0 over Booker T for the US Title on Smackdown.

3. HBK rekindles friendship with HHH after calling HHH out to the ring in his return. HBK joins Evolution setting a Raw match between HBK vs Orton in a non-title match. Meanwhile HHH and Flair face Eugene and Regal in tag team action while Batista faces Benoit. Orton wins his match as HHH and Flair win by DQ thanks to Regal and the brass knuckles. Benoit and Batista get it on backstage postponing their match for a PPV.

4. Booker T wins the thrid match to bring it to 2-1 for the US Title. But the victory would be tainted with a controversial call by the ref. Cena confronts Long. Long fines Cena in an unpopular move.

5. Orton faces HBK in a non-title match on Raw with Flair at ringside for HBK and Benoit at ringside fior Orton. No contest after Orton and Flair interfere in match. Y2J and Eugene tag up with Regal at ringside against Batista and HHH.

6. Booker T wins fourth natch against Cena tio bring it 2-2. Long declares the next match to occur in a steel cage at Survivor Series.

of course I am dragging the storyline out to Survivor Series.

7. At Survivor Series, Benoit vs Batista wrestle to a DQ of Batista after Kurt Angle interferes in Benoit's match. Orton/Y2J/Eugene vs Flair/HBK/HHH go on. Evolution once again wins the tag match. Cena loses to Booker T in the steel cage match. Backstage an angry Cena bumps into low and behold... Randy Orton. The next night on Raw, Orton demands a match against Cena. Cena does the same on Smackdown. Benoit wants a piece of Angle too.

8. Cena and Benoit get traded between the brands. Setting a stable storyline through the Rumble. Benoit eventually becomes WWE Champ over JBL. While Orton retains the title to Wrestlemania. Cena eventually takes the IC over Edge and battles Evolution.

I'm certain they might add a new member of Evolution, Edge would definitely be the best bet, because in many respects Evolution is the neo-Horsemen.

And LC, I would be so hurt if you abandoned Orton now, especially since you were responsible for turning a lot of us over to the Orton side. I guess then I'd have to take over as the Orton mark.

I for one hope that Evolution remains a trio. It fits the term of the word "Evolution" better anyway.

I think bringing in someone new would just dilute them. Big deal they beat down Orton and kicked him out, isn't that the idea of evolution? Adaptation. Plus it is just HHH showing that he can't live without Belty

It's just funny that just when I start to actually give credence to Evolution (when was the last time either one of them won cleanly: save for SS? ) and give respect to Batista and Orton they split.

The problem is that they hurt Orton's big night. Monday should have been all about making Randy the next big superstar on RAW, instead it was Chapter 7,865,999 of the Triple H is dominant over the roster book.

It also made Evo look weak because essentially what they said by beating on Orton was that the group is just there to serve HHH not to succeed on their own. IMO thats a step backwards.

Well if Orton does drop the title to HHH at Unforgiven, it definitely makes Benoit look like a more important champion in retrospect. I mean as it is Benoit is the only one to have a title reign that didn't end in HHH getting it back. Was it a good reign not really but it's probably the best one can get during the HHH era
