Ithink it is pretty safe to say that Hurricane is a very talented athlete and a good performer but he hasn't got anything going right now. He is a very underutilized wrestler. Now I am going to use a bit of an idea that Raven said on his shoot interview.

Remember the segment when Flair told Helms that he was an embarassment to the business. Well the turn is based on that. Helms begins to think this. As time goes on him and Rosey go on a losing streak for about a month and Helms gets frustrated more and more every week. Eventually Helms decides enough is enough. After another loss he helps Rosey up but then delivers a low blow and then that move he did when he first came in. The reverse DDT into the elbow driving the guy down. I think it's called the Final Cut. After he takes off his mask and throws it to the ground. The week after he comes out in normal clothes and is announced as Shane Helms or Sugar Shane Helms. He explains that he realised that Flair was right. He was a joke and he wasn't going to get anywhere when he was just a comedy figure. He then gets a monster for a body guard maybe Matt Morgan or Abyss and has a feud with Rosey where he beats Rosey. Then he can go on to have feuds with other guys like Matt Hardy, Jericho, Tajiri, Shelton Benjamin etc.

I think he has the ability to make this work so what are thoughts on this idea.

I like it...just because it gets rid of the god awful Hurricane gimmick...

Plus Sugar Shane kicked ass and if we could get the Vertireaker back that would be aces.

I would mark out for the debut of his manager "Heyman", who comes out to the ring in tight black & red spandax (just like The Hurricane), and cuts heel promos for him. :shifty:

If he does turn heel, he's likely to call himself Gregory Helms.

Ive been thinking about Helms as a possible replacement for Orton with Evo. He has the tie to the Carolinas, and was likely a huge Horseman mark back int he day. The only problem is that he doesn't fit the tough guy image of Evolution. Also, it would be a risk dropping a gimmick that has kept him on the roster for so long. I mean I think if he was just Gregory Helms he would have been canned a long time ago.

I never saw Heel helms so I don't know how it would work out.

I like your idea, legendkiller. Hurricane should have turned along time ago. Rosey would have nothing to do really since I don't think the fans care at all about his superhero gimmick, so being without Hurricane would be much worse. Hurricane is much more talented though, so who cares about Rosey :)

The Ric Flair / Hurricane Interveiw made me think that the Hurricane would turn Heel after taking Flairs advice.

that gay ass WWE piledriver ban.

He has used it in WWE a few times though, most recently against Stevie Richards on Heat a year or so back.

I think it's a little deeper than that. I think Gregory decided to stop using the move to be safer in the ring.

Doesn't anyone have any different ideas for turns these days?

Not really. it's all been done before, and its why we're seeing either repeated angles (Kane and Taker) or gimmicks (Jindrak the new Lex Luger 'narcissist' role).

Sometimes the writers will give us a little bit of credit and change an angle or spot slightly (Unlike Austin's beer truck, Kurt's wagon sprayed milk not beer, oh, those wacky writers... so innovative). But I guess that's what the industry is like - cycles.
