Yeah. We currently have a Gamecube and don't get me wrong, I love it and all, but I wanna play some games online (mainly Madden) It'd also be nice since my parents pretty much jacked the DVD player so it's in their room now, so I'd have the option of having one in my basement with the PS2.

Anywho, I probably won't be getting one for another month or two, whenever I get my ass a job (I have the money for it but I really shouldn't spend until I have some income). But I might as well get some game ideas while I think about it. I'm thinking of bringing back my GC Madden, and buying it for PS2, to play it online. No point having two of the game, although I pretty much did all the mini camp stuff already on GC. Not that hard to do it again I'd reckon. :o I might pick up that new GTA game when it comes out, 'cause it looks kinda hottttt. I wanna get that Amplitude game too, 'cause I played it at my friend's house a few months ago and it pwned hardcore.

What other games are good on PS2? Mind you I still have a lot of GC games to get in coming months (Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin 2, Paper Mario 2, Resident Evil 4), so I'm mooooostly looking for games that are hot online. Also, which wrestling game will be better? Day of Reckoning, or whatever the next PS2 one is?

Well coming up you have Smackdown vs Raw, The new GTA game, Madden is great online, NFSU is coming out with their next installment if you care about that, Metal Gear is coming out with their next game fairly soon as well come to think of it. Then you have games like Kingdom Hearts which is suprisingly pretty sexy.

Oh and the next Smackdown game is going to be better than DOR from the looks of it. And it will possibly be online.

What is NFSU?

Ant keeps going off about MGS, so I might pick that up :o

Need for Speed Underground. Basically just a street/tuner racing game. Pretty good engine and great graphics. It has online play.

And yeah, all MGS games a godly. The next is supposed to be ever more amazing. If you pick one up and enjoy it, you may want to check out Splinter Cell as well. Both the first and second a pretty good.

I don't know, I'm not really into racing games. I have Mario Kart and that suits my needs. I own that F Zero game on GC and I just can't get into it at all. I'm not a real "car" person. :o

Yeah Chris has Splinter Cell on X-Box, it's pretty hot

I understand that. If you're at all into basketball, NBA Live 05 is supposed to be revolutionary.

To be honest, I reckon you'd be best off with an XBox. All of the sports games are on Live now as well as PS2 online and it's a much better service. Not only that, but it's cheaper and has better graphics and loading times :)

Well Chris (sister's b/f) has an XBox already, so I suppose I could just borrow his. :o I dunno though, I kinda want a console of my own for the basement here. Since he already has one, I figured I might as well get a PS2, for more variety

PS2's have a higher quality of games than X Box

What about Phantasy Star Online?

From what I head playing DVDs on the PS2 is not good for it.

Hasney, what a dickhead. Don't get a piece of shit Xbox.

There is some Mega Man Anniversary collection out for like $30 or something on PS2, if you liked Mega Man. Has all the games ever made or whatever.

Also, yeah gotta get the new GTA when it comes out. I would probably get the new Smackdown game too. Get an NHL game too maybe if you want.

I only really play sports games so I dunno. :o

Mega Man Anniversary is out on GC and the new GTA will be out on XBox, but 6 months late which is a bitch.

All I know is that I play my XBox a lot more than my PS2, but that could be because the PS2 is in my brothers room, and his room is a literal ashtray, go figure.

I want a PS2 also, but I don't play video games 90% of the year.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is a must-buy, it's fucking awesome, probably like the best game I own. Although I would recommend buying Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on GameCube first though, since that is a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid on the PSone. Splinter Cell 1/2/(3 is coming out this Xmas too) are also awesome if you like the stealth action games. And Goldeneye Rogue Agent too I guess, when that is out :o

Tekken 4 is one of my favorite PS2 games too, i'm quite a Tekken mark, the 5th in the series will be coming out in arcades late this year, and on PS2 early next year. Guilty Gear X2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 are two other fighters I have, although I haven't played them much. :o

If you are going to be getting GTA San Andreas, you'll probably like GTA III and GTA: Vice City, they are both awesome, I still haven't finished Vice City yet. :o

Finally, Devil May Cry 1/2 are kinda like Metal Gear Solid in a way, although they aren't really stealth, it's more like a vampire hunter kinda thing, a mate recommended me them, pretty damn hot.

Out of everything I mentioned, i'd say the GTA and Metal Gear Solid games are must-buys.

Oh and Devil May Cry has a 3rd coming out this Xmas too.

Madden isn't out herre til next month, so by the time you get your PS2, I will have it and be decent at it, hopefully

(then we can whoop Triple A and BabyHugger online :shifty: )

I'm looking into getting one of those Baldur's Gate rpgs online too perhaps :o

Hey, I've not looked into it yet, but can PS2 people play XBox people? I know that some games are PC Online/XBox Live compatible

DS
08-19-2004, 03:39 PM
No they can't. They have that one system that plays all the system games on it (not sure about GC because of it's size) and PC but even then I don't think it'd be possible.

#BROKEN Hasney
08-19-2004, 03:59 PM
That sucks ass. A few DC games could link up with PC users online. Like PSO and Quake 3, and now with that XNA development kit, "live" support can be put into PC games.

Final Fantasy X.

$20 US since it's a Greatest Hit. Dunno if it's $20 Canadian, but it should be cheaper than most new games.

This game alone will provide at least 40 hours of gameplay. Moreso if want to unlock all the secrets. Highly recommended.

Get the PS2. It has great games in every genre so you'll have fun no matter what you like.

Yeah I'm probably getting that Mega Man game on GC. I dunno, Mega Man just seems more Nintendoish or whatever

Gonna get a PS2 probablyyyyy and get all these games

Yeah, buy (rent) Twin Snakes just so you know the story. Then buy (rent) MGS2: Substance so you know more of the story. Then buy MGS3: Snake Eater so you know the story before the story.

Online wise, I'd go with Madden/NHL '05. THUG 2 might be worth picking up.
Gran Turismo 4 also. ESPN NBA 2K5 looks pretty good too.

Final Fantasy XI lets PC and PS2 users play together. And SW:G is gonna be the same way, if they ever release the ps2 version of it.

So it is possible, EA could do it it for 2006 if fans who play madden/NHL/NBA on either system, start asking about it.

Stuck near the end of the hardest difficulty on Amplitude now, but I'll do it at some point.

It's a remix I warn you.
I played through Everyone Says Hi on Insane, and reached the end (that 2nd drum is a horror though!).
Then played that Herbie Hancock track on Brutal and got just under 3000 points
