And the worst ending ever, meaning you've played through it all for nothing.

7, easily. Was the best in the series, then they all went downhill from there

I hope to Dear God you are not talking about Final Fantasy 7 like that. Cause honestly, you just dug your grave, bitch

Yup, Final Fantasy 7 wasn't all that good, it was the installment where the series started goin under. All it had was a group of characters that they tried to make "look cool" too hard, the only reason you people love that game is so can vicariously live through them I.E. mimic their personality cause you have none.
FF7- Starting Low Not for Squaresoft
FF Tactics- Best RPG (Cloud still sucked though)

I still prefer 6 over 7. However 7 is still the 2nd-best in the series.
7... It's the only one in the series that I have so far finished and I liked it alot... I think it's one of the first RPGs I ever played (First was Mario RPG, then Zelda OOT I believe, then FF7)... I just found my FF8 for PC, so I'm gonna play that sooner or later... I'd say that FF went to hell at FFX... 9 was good... But FFX and FFX2 fucked the series over... Hopefully FFXII will be worth it...

OH, but of course. That HAS to be the reason. Thanks for that, I will now attempt to get myself some personality so I can enjoy other installments in the series a WHOLE LOT MORE.
Actually, fuck that, I'll be playing Skies of Arcadia.

Worst Ending ever.
*puts "drama Queen" crown on you*
Yeah, that about sums it up.
FF7 > 4 > 9 > 6 > 5 > 1 > 10 > 8
Never played FF11, or the original 2 and 3.

LOL. Mario RPG is good, but FF3 blows it out of the water. Mario RPG is just too easy and short.
Chrono Trigger, however... that would be a close one. I'll stick to my guns and go with FF3 though.

Yeah Chrono Trigger was a great one, the only thing that bothered me was that Squaresoft never truly finished it.

Ok, just for this, I will find a copy of FF3. If you are right, there will be much sexing of your buttocks.

Why not just get a rom for an emulator?

That's probably what he meant ;)
Mind you, FF3 isn't a hell of a lot better than CT, but I personally love it. CT has a far cooler storyline, but I dunno I just like FF3 moreeeee

Must be Kefka, CT didn't have a good bad guy (besides Magus, but we all know how that turns out).

Kefka is the man, too bad he's such a pussy when you finally fight him though :o
I'll admit, Kefka is one of the best FF villains ever, but I just couldn't get into the game as much as FF4.
Golbez and Kain are excellent temporary villains, as is Magus.

7
Surprise surprise.
I just love the way they psychologically tortured the characters in that game. It was insane.
I havent found an rpg that I like as much as 7 yet.

I know I'm gonna get crap for this, but I've only played 8 and 10 all the way through, and I actually prefered 8 over 10. (Sure it got confusing and lame at the end, but I still liked it.) I've also played 7 and 9. I couldn't get through the first part of 9 without calling it crap, and 7's graphics seemed sub-par after playing the others, which distracted me enough that I couldn't really get into the story.

LOL I was playing Mario RPG today on Super Nintendo, after a few years absence from it
I'm at Bandit's Way
I was playing some of my old save games and I was went to Nimbus Land. brings back memories :(
but yeah, in regards to Final Fantasy, 3 was the best, than 7, than Tactics. I must admit I liked number 9 also :o
and wasn't the first one just called Mystic Quest?

That is a pretty bold statement. I believe you meant to say <s>Super Mario RPG</s> Saturday Night Slam Masters.
To answer the question, though, FF7 is the only one of the series that I've finished, because it was the only one that hooked me. I started playing 8, but it took too long to get to the story, and the characters didn't interest me enough to warrant waiting around. Nine was fun, as was ten, but neither one could keep me occupied for more than a couple of hours.
I just got III on emulator, but haven't had much of a chance to play it, so my opinion may change.
As of now, though, FFVII is easily my choice. The characters were all well-defined (a must for me in a game), the gameplay was easily accessible but deep enough to warrant experimentation, the story was phenomenal, and for a PS1 game of its time it was very impressive graphically.
For me, though, it doesn't get any cooler than playing a couple of hours into the game, thinking you know what your mission for the game is, then having a massive swerve thrown at you in Shinra headquarters.

No there were massive swerves left and right in that game.

spoilers I guess so beware:
I was playing Final Fantasy III today, and after getting everyone back in the World of Ruin I went to Kefka's Tower thing, and got all the way through, beat all the bosses (and I beat one of the statues with just Mog, Terra, Celes, and Relm who are only in like level 40  ). so I moved on to the next part and they did all the talking, so I fought the boss, and I got to the second "part" of it and then he put haste on himself like a million times and he just kept putting my party on imp, mute, poison etc and finally I died.
so I tried again and I got to the last part where you have to fight Kefka as the angel thing and automatically he puts everyone in my party at 1 life, and I have no MP left from the fight, so I get like two turns, then he just hit everyone with something that did like 1000 damage. [/rant]
