Anybody that knows me knows why I am posting this, Missouri has emerged as a huge darkhorse and there is huge potential for us this season. A lot of places are predicting us to win the Big XII North, which would pit us probably against Oklahoma in the championship game, which is in Kansas City! Even thought we would probably lose we would still likely go to the Cotton Bowl, which is pretty good. Brad Smith is a darkhorse Heisman candidate, is one of the best offensive threats out there. Our biggest rival is going to be K-State, who we play at home, hopefully Nebraska won't upset us though.

Also, I think Minnesota will do a lot better then people think. They are rated like 23 in most places, but I could see them upsetting some of the bigger Big 10 teams and getting as high as third in that league. We'll all see.

What are you guys looking forward to this year?

I cant wait for opening night. Watching Va Tech getting lit up by USC. I am not a USC fan at all but I post at another sports message board with a ton of Virgina Tech dickriders so I can't wait to see them get lit up.

I am hoping BC will pull through and win the Big East. I am not banking on it even with Miami gone because its still going to be tough. West Virgina has looked pretty serious the last 2 seasons and UConn is suppose to be really improved this year.

ACC should be pretty crazy this year, with Miami and FSU..Will be intresting to see if FSU can finally beat Miami after coming so close the last few years.

Another thing I can't wait for is Michigan Ohio State..that shit is nuts

I am pretty pumped for Florida State/Miami, hopefully FSU will be able to take them this time though.

Miami has got another typical Miami back though. I was never really impressed with Frank Gore but now they got Tyrone Moss (I think thats his name) taking over full time after seeing a little time last year as a true freshman

FSU still has Rix right? Never been a huge fan of him, but he does show up sometimes, seems pretty inconsistent even though he has been starting for a longtime

The Miz
08-26-2004, 10:08 PM
Rix is shit

BCWWF
08-26-2004, 10:38 PM
Yeah, Rix is shit. According to some things I've seen Miami doesn't have great expectations this year, not even BCS. The new ACC is shit, I hate it, but its going to be amazingly strong. I'm excited for Duke to play Miami or something.

Also this could be a good place to bring up the Mike Williams thing. He was denied back into USC today, and I think thats shitty. In my opinion, the NFL should have let Clarett and those other guys in, because they had already given up their eligability and whatnot, and then changed it next year. It Clarett wasn't good enough, then he wasn't good enough, but now Williams is fucked over. I understand that he took a bunch of money and shit, but did he ever give it back? Also I assume he was practicing with the team, how shitty would that be to all of a sudden find out you can't play a few days before the season starts. I think he should have been let back in, nothing personal, just based on the principle of what happened.

The Miz
08-26-2004, 11:16 PM
Wait, you're excited about Duke/Miami? We're talking about football right? Duke is one of the worst 10 teams in the country

Gonzo
08-26-2004, 11:19 PM
Duke sucks, Rix is very inconsistent.

I like Notre Dame, I want them to return to a competitive level. :(

I really want to see LSU bomb, since all the fucking bandwagon fans sprout up after they win.

BCWWF
08-26-2004, 11:42 PM
It was a joke The Miz, referring to how slaughtered Duke is going to be in the new ACC football. If I'm not mistaken there are some other schools in the ACC with a less then average record in football also.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
08-26-2004, 11:44 PM
I DUNNO I think he was trying to say the ACC sucks by bringing up Duke? Or maybe he will be excited to see a blow out? I have no idea.

"new" ACC is pretty good. Maryland, Virgina Tech (gonna be a down year I think tho), Virgina, Georiga Tech, Miami, FSU etc Plus still got BC coming in next season

I think Williams should have been reinstated. The Wideout from Colorado should also be reinstated aswell, I can't remember his name, but he took endorsements to raise funds to ski at the Olympics so NCAA said he couldnt play. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

BCWWF
08-26-2004, 11:47 PM
Yeah, the guy from Colorado is the man, forget his name aswell. Anyway, I thought it was pretty obvious that bringing up a game between a perennial shit and a perennial powerhouse was pretty obvious that I was joking, but apparently not.

Apprentice
08-27-2004, 12:28 AM
Even though I hate USC, Mike Williams should have definitely been reinstated. Now, I don't know if they will be able to maintain being the #1 team, especially with all the teams gunning for them. I go to Cal, so maybe my school has a chance this year in the pac-10. Go Aaron Rodgers! :)

Gonzo
08-27-2004, 12:39 AM
Williams had to know of the risks by following Clarett, he has to deal with the consequences now. Fair and simple as that.

BCWWF
08-27-2004, 01:37 PM
The NFL rules changed allowing younger players, and then guys qave up their eligability just to have the NFL change the rules and fuck them over. I don't see that fair, why didn't they just change the rule back for after this year?

Jeremy Bloom (the guy from CU) got hosed. The NCAA is a joke.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
08-27-2004, 08:42 PM
Yea NCAA is being stupid. They are trying to put out an "image" like they don't mess around or something. But the truth is college football is pretty corrupt. You got guys like Chris Rix driving around in Navigators with 22 inch rims and livin' the life at his off campus apparemnt with a flat screen TV (all of this was shown on ESPN one day a few years ago) Then you got guys like Bloom who is just trying to raise money to compete in the 06 Olympics who are getting suspended.

DaveBrawl
08-27-2004, 11:07 PM
It looks like it's gonna be a down year for both my teams. CU doesn't have much hope especially since the NCAA robbed them of one of their best recievers. As for Virginia Tech (don't really care for them, but I go here so I may as well cheer for them) we all know they are going to be a mediocre team this year. Our only bright spot is that Marcus Vick is no longer going to be able to cost us any games and Bryan Randall can show what he can do for a whole game.

CU plays here in a few weeks, shall be a good time

Hello Mike Williams. Meet Antonio Langham.

Alabama's football program was placed on three years' probation in 1995 after All-American defensive back Antonio Langham admitted signing with a sports agent the morning after the Tide gained the national title with a Sugar Bowl win over Miami.

Langham then returned for his senior season. The NCAA stripped Alabama of 26 scholarships, forced the Tide to forfeit eight victories from 1993 and imposed a one-year postseason ban.

Same thing, right? I haven't been following the WIlliams thing but if I'm not mistaken, that's pretty similar/the same.

If so, USC is lucky they didn't let him back on the team.

BCWWF
08-30-2004, 11:54 PM
Let me get this straight, did Williams give back all of his endorsement money and shit or now? Because if he gave it all back then I don't think he should have been reinstated, but if he did give everything back then the NCAA is lame.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
08-30-2004, 11:58 PM
I HEARD he gave everything back, but I really don't know for sure.

I am assuming he did though, wouldn't make any sense at all if he didn't.

Supreme Olajuwon
08-31-2004, 02:16 AM
The thing is, Mike Williams doesn't need the NCAA. He's a beast no matter what and he'll still go high whenever he enters the draft

Yeah we kept following the scoreboard, it was like 9-0 Oregon State into the third wasn't it?! Texas provided quite an ass whooping.

As for Mizzou, our offense is pretty stellar, Brad Smith , but our secondary and kicking teams were just absolute ass tonight.

Also Oregon State should have won. I was quite upset.

Colorado State as well.

I watched the 4th quarter of the Gopher game on ESPN2. Gopher football will never be cool until they get themselves a stadium. If I was a football player and I had the option of going to Minnesota or Wisconsin, I would chose Wisconsin so fast because they don't play in an empty HHH Dome.

Anyway, in the stuff I watched I didn't see Pat Cheney (friend from high school) or John Shevlin (other guy I knew of from rival hs), that was a choke

Upset Thursday actually

Anyway, that sucks for the Razorbacks QB, they were seconds away from upsetting Texas. Two minutes left, down by two points, inside the 10 yard line. All they needed a was a field goal, but then the QB gets stripped and Texas gets the ball back. Texas just escaped the upset.
