It was sad times. Kilborn wasn't as funny as Conan or anything but I always thought he was likeable and fun to watch. Last night's show was great. The ending was really well done too.

Wonder who is gonna take his place now. I've heard that CBS wants to get Conan but his NBC contract doesn't end for another year. Some other candidates are Bob Saget, Amy Sedaris, and Jon Stewart.

Bob Saget

I never really watched his show, but I was still familiar with him and that five questions game.

its done?

that sucks, he usually had decent guests, and the 5 questions thing was pretty cool

he was pretty funny, he was no conan, but he was all right.

LOL Bob Saget? I hope you are joking.

I don't think Jon Stewart will be leaving the Daily Show any time soon. Though it would be sort of ironic if Jon Stewart took his place, since Kilborn was the host of the Daily Show before leaving to host his show on CBS.

I think Stewart just re-upped his contract with Comedy Central through, like 2007, so I don't think it will be him.

I didn't even know Kilborn was leaving until I read it in Entertainment Weekly. They estimate that the top three candidates to replace him are D.L. Hughley (shudder), Adam Corolla (big shudder), and Amy Sedaris.

I'd bet Sedaris, because the "Late Late Show" is produced by Letterman's "Worldwide Pants" production company, and Sedaris is one of Letterman's favorite guests.

I know they really want Conan. Before they wanted to give the spot to Jon Stewart but Stewart wanted to stay in NY but CBS wanted him in L.A. Then since Stewart wouldn't move they gave it to Kilborn. Never really watched Kilborn because Conan is so much better. Should be intresting to see what happens. About 2 days left till Conan comes back on, its been a long 2 weeks of stupid Olympics and no Cone-Zone. My friends and I sahll have a Conan return party and watch the Cone-Zone monday and the 2 DVDs.

Kilborn sucks. And I highly doubt NBC would ever let Conan go without a fight.

My sources tell me that Conan will go because he wants earlier hours and he wasn't to happy that Leno got signed to 2010 I believe. Conan wants earlier shift and deserves it although I won't be happy because I usually don't watch TV when Leno and shit starts.

Yeah, I'm assuming Amy Sedaris is ahead in the running for new host. She is pretty damn funny too.

It would be funny to see Conan go though. I'm assuming Letterman will be retiring within the next 5 years or so and watching Conan destroy Leno in the head to head ratings would be great.

Conan won't get earlier hours by taking Kilborn's show.

He will get Letterman's spot when he retires though.

yeah, I read Conan is willing to go cause he thinks letterman will retire before Leno.

I had read that too. I think Conan probably expected to be doing the Tonight Show by now, and he's probably frustrated that Leno keeps signing extensions. Conan might jump, but NBC is going to have to make CBS a generous offer to buy out the rest of his contract.

I doubt we'll see Conan go anywhere. Lets say Letterman were to leave 3 or 4 years from now (I actually think he'll stay on a lot longer than that) they dont have to look to the CBS "B show" for the new host for the "A show". I believe Letterman likes Conan, so I'm sure he would still be the front runner for the Letterman spot regardless of what channel he wroks on at the time.

Plus dont forget, Leno does better numbers than Dave, so Conan benefits from a stronger lead in then he would get behind Letterman.

For CBS I'm sure they'd like to snag Conan because he's #1 with the younger male demo, but at the same time I dont think NBC would let him go, and I believe he's still under contract for some time.

In terms of being ticked at Leno, I dont think thats true at all. Leno is still pretty young and is doing well, why would Conan expect to Leno to quit? What, just so he can be "da man". I think he's probably always assumed he would one day be competing with Leno rather than taking over his current position.

As far as new hosts, Adam Corrola might be interesting, but do we've already got Jimmy Kimmel, and I think it would be better to get someone who brings something different to the table. Amy Sedaris is hilarious IMV, so even though I'd be still watching Conan but she'd get some attention from me.

Stewart would be a huge grab for CBS if they could get him (I think he would be their second choice behind Conan assuming he's available) but like Conan, I think he's under contract, os I'm not sure thats a possibility.

Killbourne is cool cause he is from Minnesota, and that he used to work on SportsCenter is key too. Where is he going now, I never found that out.

Also, people always forget that Bob Saget is not Danny Tanner. He was actually a stand up comedian before joining full house and frequently got in trouble for making adult joked on the set.

Kilborn isn't really quitting to do anything specific. They made alot of jokes about it in the last week or two of the show how he's just "retiring" and not really do anything anymore.

I think Jimmy Fallon would be good

He would be good for 6 weeks, thn he'd be boring as hell.

Amy Sedaris is pretty funny, but I've never seen her do non-scripted stuff. Adam Corrola is nothing without Jimmy Kimmel. Saget would actually be good, but he'd have to work hard to shed the family oriented stigma. His bit in Half Baked was good shit.

Kilborn says he wants to focus on writing/producing. Yeah ok.

What's with the love for Bob Saget? The guy is one of the most unfunny people in the history of comedians, right up there with Richard Lewis and Carrot Top.

She's always funny during her interviews. Also, she was on Letterman's "4 am show" a few months back giving a tour of the street she lives on and she was pretty funny off the cuff there. She'd make a great talk show host.

Yeah, whenever he's doing live stuff, like on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, he is hilarious.

Oh, that's who she is. Yeah, she was pretty funny on that. Go ahead and give her the show.
