Just posted about this in the Casual and felt like making a thread on it in here  Yeah, so who also thought this cartoon ruled? Before this cartoon I knew nothing about X-Men, but boy did I watch this thing religiously every Saturday morning. The writers of the show were the greatest and included so many different characters. The thing I liked a lot about this show was that the X-Men were defeated sometimes (they would always come back though in another part or whatever) and you don't get that a lot with cartoons. It's usually the good guys looking indestructable. Like for instance Apocalype whipped some ass a lot of the times. The SENTINELS weren't fucking around eathier, especially in the 2nd episode of the first season.

I remember as soon as I saw the 1st episode of Season 1, Morph was my favorite right away. And then what happens in the next episode? He gets fricken killed. WTF? Way to bring me down as I start my Saturday morning as an eleven or so year old kid. I couldn't believe it, when Jean said he didn't make it. I had never watched a cartoon before that where one of the good guys dies off like that. Of course he comes back though :D with Sinister

Ok, Rambling on here. So what were some of your memories of the show? Good or Bad

I thought it was awesome, I like Night Crawler.

Great show. Along with the 90s Spiderman and Batman. Batman just started coming out on DVD so now all I need is Xmen and Spidey.

And what was everyone's Fav. Episode or Saga?

Mine was the two Part "Reunion" episodes when Sinister captures like all the X-MEN (minus Wolverine) Prof X and Magneto. Then Wolverine comes in as Sinister's about to complete whatever he was doing and gets the X-Men unlocked and gets them back their powers. Then the X-Men just completely murder Sinister and his goons. Great Line from Gambit here. Right after he gets unlocked and gets his power back, he just walks up to this one dude all pissed and shit and goes "The name is Gambit...Remember it." BOOM He flings a couple of cards and kills the dude. Nice.

Nightcrawler was only there for a couple of episodes. I hated him.

Boondock Saint

Yeah, the Sinister saga sweet.

I also liked the whole Phalanx (sp?) episode arc. They had a ton of characters like X-Factor's Quicksilver and Forge and Havok. Plus Magneto and Sinister both helped the X-Men in that one. I think Bishop and Cable were in it too.

Towards the end of the show I think that aired.

^^Yep, that shit was great. See, that's exactly why I loved the show because you had so many characters just appearing in episodes. Yeah, Sinister was actually a good guy in that episode.

Haha yeah I used to watch that all the time. It was on some channel @ 9pm or something. Perect for us older 'kids'. :D

It was like wrestling, you watched it and didn't tell anybody, but then when someone found out you watched it or vice-versa, you'd get all excited and talk about it.

I've got some of the last episodes downloaded somewhere, the one I watched (Rogue went to give support to some southern kid who'd developed mutant abilities) was terrible, completely dire compared to the earlier stuff.

Personally I liked the first eps with Juggernaut and Omega Red  Even if Colossus was an annoying tit

Yeah I hated the ones that just focused on one person. Like I remember one where Storm was in Africa or something and there was some kid that could run fast, but he was possesed by the Shadow King. Ugh, so boring.

Plus, I've always hated Storm.

Same here with Storm. That "power of" speech she did whenever she used her powers got on my nerves.

As for fav. episodes, I liked the 2-Part "Sanctuary," Where Magneto invited all mutants to Asteroid M, the 4-Part "Beyond Good and Evil," where Apocalypse kidnapped all mutant psychics in order to break the balance of good and evil, and "Cold Comfort," which featured my all-time favorite mutant, Bobby "Iceman" Drake, looking for his girlfriend, Lorna "Polaris" Dane. He butted heads with Xavier, Cyclops, and Wolverine, but his friendship with Beast remained, and Jubilee had a crush on him. This episode also guest-starred X-Factor and Forge.

I had all of the episodes DLed on my computer a while back. :y: But they took up too much space, had to delete them. Such an awesome cartoon... I love X-men. :'(

Yep, same here as well. I think they were just filler episodes before they went to the good shit. Like they had the Christmas one with the Morlocks. Terrible.

And whomever mentioned Beyond Good and Evil. Oh man, that ruled all as well. So many different characters in that 4 part episodes. (Cable, Bishop, Archangel, Sabertooth, Magneto, Psylocke etc... ) I think even Spiderman made a real quick appearence. Remember Magneto and Mystique turned good in Part 4 and started helping the X-men. Hot Shit.

I think the best bad guy was Apocalypse. He dominated the good guys a lot of the time.

it was good but not better than the animated Spiderman series... now that ruled.

I liked it a lot. Especially the first season. The whole Morph-dying thing was almost unheard of, and it made you feel for the characters right away.

Good cartoon but they butchered just about every story arc that they used from the comics. Days of Future Past especially.

My favorite Saga of all time on that show was the one where Apocalypse had ever psychic abducted, it was pretty sweet cause you never knew who was showing up next. I'll never forget the part where Wolverine and Sabre-Tooth were in the middle of a fight and outta nowhere Magneto appeared and finished the job that Sabre-Tooth and Mystique were in the middle of (kidnapping Psylocke).

Speaking of Morlocks... (I understand that she wasn't part of the TV show, but I have to ask.) what does everyone think about Marrow? Personally I thought she was awesome. Way cooler than Gambit. Worthy of making it into one of the movies to fight Wolverine.

I watched it so much it pissed off my parents. When they started re-airing them when I was in college, oh, you know I was there.

Favorites:
The Beyond Good and Evil saga cause let's face it, Apocalypse is the s</>hit and it was a sweet story.
Anything with Gambit.
The Phoenix Saga
One Man's Worth 2 part series cause that was the first time they dared venturing a little bit into the Age of Apocalypse storyline in the comic books.

The Phoenix Saga
Or Apocolypse and The Four Horseman
Angel (or Archangel) is one of my favourite characters and I liked teh battle between good and evil within his head.
Oh and Gambit does and always will rule.

I'm not a big fan of Marrow but from what I've haerd she'll be one of the playable characters on the X Men game out later this year.

I will give them credit though for making Cyclops and Jean Gray as boring and cardboardish in the cartoon as they are in the comics. Especially Cyke.

I totally agree with you there, I have never been a big fan of Cyclops.
Did any of you watch X Men Evolution, the first series was awful but it got good towards the end.

Cyke is boring my design, it's great and that's about the only thing the Cartoon adapted faithfully from the comcs.

Just the whole thing about Spike was hilarious. As he was a character from a few issues of X-Factor before dying. The whole random storyliine about him being Stprm's nephew was rather odd.
I hope they go ahead with a new series.

oh god, Evolution was shit when it started. There was really nothing happening. It was if I was watching one of those teen drama's on the WB. Then when Magneto brought in Pyro, Collosus (sp) and Gambit, the show picked up. Then the whole 4 Horsemen deal was great, even though that was an odd group of Horsemen.

It had Kitty Pryde therefore it rules all. I actually stopped watching before Gambit got brought in :$ because I just started forgetting it was on.

What I liked about Evolution is that it did it's own thing, it took the characters and made it's own universe mostly independant from the comics. The Fox cartoon took COmic Book storylines and fucked them up 6 ways from Sunday. It's a good cartoon but a terrible adaptation.

Danny Electric

Yeah the continuity in the Fox X-Men cartoon was terrible.

Who were the Four Horsemen in Evo, was it the first ones with Archangel in or the second ones with Caliban?

That is weird but I remeber watching it now. Wasn't that one of the last episodes.
Cyclops heel turn was great.
I think Avalanche was great in it, I liked his whole storyline with Kittie.

I know that season 1 is on DVD at the moment, yeah I liked that whole joining up too.
The Scarlet Witch was pretty kick ass too, completely different kind of character from the comic books.

You have to love the old Fox X-Men, it was just good stuff. Evo was ok I suppose, missed like the last 3 or 4 episodes and they never came back on, then Cartoon Network took them off and apparently nobody wants to show them anymore. Had some good voice acting in Evo though, except for Gambit, and please don't even get me started on that whole thing again. Everyone should go buy X-Men Legends, fantastic game, almost ten hours of play and we've only gone through two stages and two flashbacks. No Gambit yet but we all know the best is saved for last.
