View Full Version : Eraserhead
Watched this yesterday and thought it was really shit, maybe I didn't understand it though because I was really confused as to what was going on.
As far as I am concerned, there is a bloke (Henry) and a girl (Mary) who have a freak alien for a baby, and he baby sits it at night. Thats the storyline and the film lasts like 1Hr 30Mins when it could have lasted 10. Complete waste of time IMO, so I was wondering for those of you who have watched the movie (Prolly only Trips and the Miz) why you think the movie is good.
Only reason I wanna know is because maybe I am missing something and if I understood it better I might think that the movie is at least half decent.

It is a freaky ass movie. If you watch it at night, it is pretty scary shit. The soundtrack of the movie is incredible and it is just a weird ass movie. It is definitely not mainstream so I can see why most people wouldn't like it. Its imagery and everything is great. I dunno. I love weird movies. That's about all there is to it.

Here comes AAA to defend it and blow you off
-edit- crap...barely beat me
I drew the curtains, whacked on my surround sound speakers in my room, and the room was pretty dark, but I was just sitting there trying hard to focus on the movie but I just kept thinking about switching it off. I can udnerstand you liking it because it's weird, but I can't understand how you always go on about it on here, saying its a film everyone should watch, when its mind numbingly boring.
I only made this thread thinking that there must be something else to the movie, but I guess not.
I like the way the picture quality is shit throughout and it being black and white, its about the only good thing about it, as it is how horror films should be.

It is a great movie. Dunno what you expected. There is no real plot.

I want to see it. They have it in my local video shop, for some reason. Usually have nothing except new releases.
I love Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet.

What in your opinion makes it great? That it is totally weird and makes no sense?
I prefer a film with a plot.
And ECG, I use the free DVD rental service on CD wow, you get a 2 week free trial, and pay fuck all P&P, as they give you a prepaid envolope to return it in. Very easy to use.

What do you mean it makes no sense? It made perfect sense to me. I already explained why I thought it was great.
Well unless I am missing something, Henry and Mary shag, have a freaky alien looking child, which makes sense.
What I don't understand is the thing that comes out his mouth at the start, that long intestine looking thing, which at the end there are more of these that come from the ceiling, and then he throws against the wall.
I also didn't understand why there was that blonde haired girl with puffy cheeks dancing.

Bad movie, pretty good "experience". That's pretty much how I felt about it.

It is weird imagery. I dunno what it means exactly. It's up to your interpretation I guess.
