Ok, so I tried logging on to Everquest, and I got the character select screen, but like every second, for like 5-6 seconds or longer, it locks up... So I restart my computer and try again. I log into the game, and it ends up restarting my computer automatically.

So, just for safe measures I restart it again, and try loading up Battlefield: Vietnam. I load up a server, and it instantly locks up... restart again, and shut down.

I take out my 256 stick of RAM, and try it again.. same problem, so I take out my 512 and put the 256 back in, as well as make sure the fan to my graphics card is clean just in case it's overheating.... Same problem.

Everything else works fine. I've been able to play Ultima Online (very non memory or graphics intensive), and can play music, surf the internet, do just about anything except play high end games... I could play them FINE a week ago, but suddenly today they're fucking up.

What the fuck is wrong with it?

OS: Win XP Home
Processor: 1.6 GHz P4
Graphics: Geforce 4 Ti4200
RAM: Obviously, 768 DDR RAM (a 256 and 512)

Have you cleaned your cache lately? You might want to run AdAware or Spybot. If you could run them a week ago and now can't there is a possibility of spyware running in the background.
You might also check and see if there are some processes running in the background that is eating up your resources.

I think it might have been Windows SP 1... I downloaded it about a week ago, and after the problems I just had with SP 2, I think it was SP 1 (SP 2 caused me to have to format my hard drive by making it impossible for my computer to boot up)

Ok, definitely not SP 1... I still think SP 2 is what messed up my computer -more-, but right now after formatting, and still having the same problem, I don't know what the problem is..

You could feasibly have a memory problem. To check the memory ( I know you tried them seperately but something may be dropping out) try this site; http://www.memtest86.com/

Good luck.

It was grenades most of the time.. :'(

But yeah... not gonna be playing BF:V for a long time, cause I doubt my old card will even get close to running it without 5 FPS..

Gonna see if I can get a high-end Radeon of some sort....

Yes, very good. 9600 was the best out for a long time.
