Kerry Von Erich
Correction: Kerry Adkisson

The Von Erich family (which is a real family, unlike the Malenkos or the Godwinns) is really the Adkisson family.

Yeah, there was one fake Von Erich though. Can't remember which one though.

I'm pretty sure they were all real, unless there is another besides Kerry, Kevin, Michael, David and Fritz.

Ok after quick research there were two fake Von Erichs that is to say not Adkissons. Waldo and Lance. I think I might be wrong about Fritz setting it up though, not sure (though the Lance Von Erich thing was created in WCCW which I'm pretty sure was Fritz's promotion). Well at least Lance, Waldo was Fritz's tag partner, Fritz definitely did not set that one up.

So Dean and Boris Malenko aren't releated?

The Malenko family is a real family. It's just that their real name is Simmon.

I always thought the Texas Tornado and the Ultimate Warrior were brothers....Then again, I was young when I watched them.

That's OK, a lot of people used to (and some still do) think that they were the same guy - basically working twice in different get-ups (ala Darsow). I don't get it, as they were seen side by side every now and then.

Sad knowing that a family of talented workers like the Adkissons died off so quickly. :(

Kevin is the only one still alive right?

On a side note, Kerry was a tremendous worker for a guy with one foot/leg.

On a side note, Kerry was a tremendous worker for a guy with one foot/leg.

Foot, he still had the leg, I believe down to the ankle point.

Fritz wrestled under "Von Erich" as a "german" to get over as a heel, and Waldo was his tag partner.

He kept the name.

WCCW was owned or run by Fritz.

Lance was a "cousin" and wasn't actually related.

Kevin is still alive.

David's death was blamed on I think a blood clot or something like that, but it's also been "rumored" that he died froma drug OD and they covered it up.

Mike almost died from an actual disease (I think having to do w/ blood) and survived, recovered and eventually killed himself.

Chris (youngest) was never though to be a wrestlter, was a heavy kid and had chronic asthma, well, he eventually got in shape and did wrestle and also killed himself.

Kerry was the last to take his own life. I think it was shortly after an arrest for drugs (I think pain killers that he got addicted to after the motorcycle accident) the story is he walked into his parents home, past them through the kitchen and went to the barn or garage and killed himself (self inflicted gunshot wound).

Kevin is alive and I know as of a few years ago still wrestled once in awhile for charity events.

Fritz is also dead, but of natual causes.

Any other questions let me know, I'll admit it's been awhile so I'm a little foggy on stuff...

I believe Kevin has done some appearances in Jersey and such with the FanSlam (or whatever the name is) conventions there. They usually have tons of people on them.

As for the foot thing, I thought that was the case, just didn't know how to phrase it.

Good post VEL :y:

I saw the match list, not many and not very impressive, they could have done much better.

I also wonder if Kevin is hard up for money, cause he's always stayed away from profiting on the family name (or wrestling name) kinda like a curse he wanted to forget... but the DvD is "Kevin Von Erich presents"... not sure if they just put him on the cover or if he was behined the production.
