Everyone here post your memories about Taz.. I remember how everyone at TPWW loved him and made petitions and such to WWE.

Did they ever fuck with his character. Eliminated from the 2001 Rumble in 4 seconds, told not to do suplexes, feuding with the King... dammit Vince!

I still consider Tazz v Kurt Angle at Rumble 2000 one of the best I've seen.

Favourite Tazz moment -
Being dumped through the ring by Bam Bam Bigelow at Living Dangerously 1998.
I didn't see much of Taz in ECW but what I did see was great. A match with Sabu which I thought was great. I was really excited by the promotions leading up to his debut and his debut against Kurt and I thought that it was the beginning of him ruling the WWE since he ended Kurt's unbeaten run but instead it just never happened

Heatwave 98, he and Bigelow go through the rampway. Bigelow gets up first and starts crawling back to the ring. Two seconds later Taz literally jumps out, does the throat slash, runs, jumps, and locks the Tazmission on Bam Bam.
And being there live for his debut was amazing, I thought he'd be champ within 2 years.....
I remember on this one ECW show, Taz was announcing with Joey Styles on a Danny Doring vs. Chris Chetti match. As soon as it started, Taz was like "boring, boring", a few cracks later, he got up, found the sound guy at the other end of the arena, threatened to kill him if he didn't play his music, cut through the crowd, got in the ring and beat the living piss out of Doring and Chetti. And what was just because he could! :D
His chase on Shane Douglas for the ECW heavyweight title was awesome from start to finish.
Also the night he won the TV title from Douglas within 3 minutes was sh</>it hot too.

Two of my fav moments of Taz was the already mentioned BamBam match falling through the walkway and that last triple threat elimination match (Masato was in it and I think Awesome as well) he was in where he lost and had to leave but left like a man and told the guys to finish it off.

I liked when Taz came out with his "FTW" belt in protest of getting screwed out of the title he should have won from Shane Douglas.
It's kind of sad when you look at his WWE career, as he took a backseat to many others. He should have at least won the IC belt (I was fiending for him and Benoit to get into a feud...Benoit closed a car door on Taz's arm right before Taz went off for an injury...setting it up perfectly).
For those that never saw him in ECW, think of Kurt Angle, with Steve Austin's defiance of authority and intensity and a fouler mouth than any other wrestler ever seen. Looking at how Kurt Angle is portrayed in-ring, before they really started focusing on his submissions, certain spots really remind me of Taz, especially the overhead belly-to-belly suplex.
Taz is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers because of his heyday in ECW. He just destroyed people...let's thank Heyman for giving someone that -isn't- a "hoss" a chance and changing the perception of what a badassed champion could be. Before the big "change", Taz was in a very weird gimmick and tag teaming with Sabu.

Also the night he won the TV title from Douglas within 3 minutes was sh</>it hot too.Fuck yeah, the whole promo before the match was gold. When Taz dropped the time from 5 mins to 3 mins. I was like "Taz is the man " Then with under one min left, he locked in the Tazmission and it was over.

i rmember how taz was so completetly fucked around with the WWE.
one minute he's against angle, then he's announcing, then he's in a feud with king and jR, then he's announcing with JR, then he's with team WWE, then with WCW/ECW, then...no where...then announcing again.
It was ridiculous and as such, i never got to see much of taz :(

Taz is from New York.
He beat Angle.
He won the tag titles with Spike Dudley.
Sums up his WWE career :O

The three-way dance with Tanaka and Awesome is my best Taz memory. The crowd started off hating the guy's guts because "he sold out," but then at the end, he had to tell them to chant for the guys that were fighting so that they'd stop chanting his name and "please don't go."
The matches with Bam Bam where they went through the ramp and the ring were pretty hot, too. And the feud leading into Barely Legal with Sabu created the "(name) fears (name)" sign.

"Cole, he's not here." -Tazz broadcasting SmackDown! this week (in reference to Heidenreich). :shifty:
