Last week in Montreal, for the first time since the rumors surfaced, Thornton denied that he had demanded a trade and wanted out of Boston.
"None of that's true," he said. "I'm happy in Boston. I love playing hockey for those fans and love the city."
Thornton said that the rumors might have been a result of him publicly saying that he wants management to be more active and Thornton still reiterated those feelings but said that doesn't mean he wants out.
"I mean, I was just saying what I think every player feels on every team and that is that they want to play on a team that has a chance to win, but I never said I wanted out," he explained.
"I'd still like to see a certain number 27 back on my wing and maybe a few other big-time players," he said with a smile.
:)
The #27 he's talking about is Kovalev, btw. :shifty:
