Why exactly are they there? They don't seem to do anything, and when I got a network adaptor that was supposed to work from there it had no responce. Whats the deal yo?

They are for USB Mice, Keyboards and Headsets.

My EyeToy is USB too.
I use it as a webcam also.

It's also used for the when you plug in the gun for Time Crisis 2/3 and other shooting games.

It can also be used for the flash drive for Action Replay Max Evo, and Namco made a USB pad.

I use mine for my eye toy and keyboard. Unless I'm using a game that uses the headset and then I usually put it in with the keyboard.
