Yeah, so I'm listening to Between the Ropes (Wrestling Radio Show) and they were saying how Bill Demott has been totally blasting Smackdown and blasting the Diva Competition and other things in the WWE on the air on Velocity. Is this true?

Like I heard Cole and Demott were talking about Hedenreich and Cole goes

Cole: Speaking of Hidenreich, I'm sure he'll be coming to a Velocity show pretty soon.

Demott: I'm sure it will be sooner then you think.
-------------------------------------------

Then they were talking about the Smackdown throwback.

Cole: I'll tell you those throwbacks bring back memories of how good Smackdown.......*pause by Cole* is.

Demott: You were going to say "Used to be" weren't you?

Cole: No, "IS"

Demott: You can say it on Velocity Cole, don't worry.
---------------------------------------

That's fuckin great. I might watch Velocity now just to listen to Demott bash the WWE on the air.

Now you know Vince and co. don't watch Velocity

As terrible as DeMott is as a commentator, he has been sort of telling it like it is lately. It's like something out of "Network." He assumes his job is in jeopardy so he just keeps talking.

He has ripped into the Diva Search many times. He loathes the $1,000,000 Tough Enough. And I think I referenced his Heidenreich line in one of my reviews.

I may not like him as an announcer, but he's growing on me as a critic.

go to Pwinsider.com and read the 5-star Velocity report, the commentary between Josh Matthews and DeMott is fucking hilarious

Put the guy on the Raw. It'd be a bit of fresh air having a commentator do his job rather than shout 'puppies' or random, non-sensical phrases (slobberknocker). I already prefer Velocity over Smackdown because we get to see real workers and a whole lot less of soap opera going-ons. DeMott adds to it all, I like his 'turning point' spot - it almost makes the match feel more real and enjoyable like a sport. I'd like to see DeMott in JR's chair from now on.

Makes me wonder what DeMott is blackmailing backstage. I mean, people have been fired over lesser incidents (remember that Roddy Piper got fired for mentioning that he used to have drug problems?) Or maybe ... just MAYBE ... Velocity IS his punishment. :P

Anyway, as I mentioned before, I like Bill. The "Turning Points" are great, and the insider jabs are the cat's boots.

Velocity has just about become my favorite wrestling show. I get to see the FBI and Mark Jindrak almost every week, I don't have to watch JBL taint the WWE Title (except in recaps), and there's usually at least one very good cruiserweight and/or tag team match.

If it weren't for Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly, I would totally prefer Velocity to any other wrestling show.

I honestly wish they had a best of Velocity compilation. I remember watching like Bryan Danielson vs John Cena and it was 3 minutes of bliss.

That sounds pretty hilarious! I'd love to see some more examples or stuff. Odd that he's getting away with it, but whatever.
