My early prediction is that it will suck. Just a hunch.

I'll check it out later though.

It's good.... VERY good.

Old style Dookie stuff and some 9 minute epics that are worth listening to, but some crap on as well

Ska-Wars

Yeah I wouldn't go as far as to say it sucks. It's just different. Thankfully its different to 'Warning', I wasn't too keen on that.

It's Green Day, that's all I can really say... It's not good or bad, it's Green Day... it's a little it's more mature but that's not a surprise, can't really see 30 year old men writing about jerking off in front of the TV.

I heard the first single on MTVU, that songs pretty good. The thing I like about Green Day is on their new albums they don't really sell out. All the old punk bands have totally changed their style to get on the radio but they are still just sweet.

They didn't need to sell out. They were always radio friendly.

I like first single (American Idiot) but then I heard another song from the cd, and it sucked. I'll give it a few months before I buy it.

...and some 9 minute epics...

Greenday and 9 minute epics should never be uttered in the same sentence.

A song that's nine minutes long is not necessarily epic. There are 20 minute songs that suck and three minutes songs that I consider epic.

Heard American Idiot far more than I probably would like (radio, Madden), but it's a good catchy tune. I'll probably pick this CD up once I get my paycheck.

When I first heard they were doing 9 minute songs I thought that too, but I was surprised, Jesus Of Suburbia is awesome.

Jesus of Suburbia is a combination 5 songs actually; Jesus of Suburbia, City of the Damned, I Don't Care, Dearly Beloved, and Tales of Another Broken Home

Can't stop listening to it.

"American Idiot" is the least good song on the album though, but "Jesus Of Suburbia" reminds me so much of "The Decline" by NOFX. Which is a good thing.

The title track is great, but by no means the best song on the album. Holiday, St. Jimmy, and certain parts of Homecoming and Jesus of Suburbia are the best in my opinion.

Okay, whoa. I have always had a soft spot for Green Day - I started listening to them when I was in 3rd grade (a.k.a. like 11 years ago)

I thought after Insomniac, they had pretty much lost their touch with me.

I've listened to their stuff after Insomniac, but it didn't click... Then I got curious and bought American Idiot. Holy shit. I'm hooked again.

This album is fucking awesome :o
