Meh, I cant blame people for being on the verge of quitting watching wrestling.
Personally, Ive never been more disinterested in the product, and the fact that HHH just beat the latest up and coming babyface doesn't make me want to run out and buy a ticket, or make sure I watch RAW tomorrow.
Storylines are either lame or non existant, the same old guys are still at the top of the card, and the new "superstars" dont get booked in a manner that might get them over. Some of the wrestling is still good, but is that really enough?

Being a wrestling fan could be compared to a quote from the Godfather trilogy: Just when you thought you were out, they'll just push you back in.
That's how it is so don't worry,kiddo... you will be back! All hail HHH! ***inserts plaque "Don't forget, you're hhhere forever!"*** [/HHHbrainwash]

At least Orton didn't lose it cleanly. Still pretty damn stupid move making Orton drop the belt a month after he won :n:

It gets more and more like WCW every day. The only real difference at this point is that the WWE business model is much better than WCW's. But then thats bad too, because with WWE they keep making money, so nothing changes.

It feels like that they're making the product shitty on purpose. We all know that they're capable of doing good, but it looks like they're just too lazy to do it. Or they hired Fifi as creative head

How many title runs has HHH had now? If its as many as I think it is....someone needs to kill Vince off so Shane can start running the show.
HeartBreakMan2k
09-13-2004, 02:05 AM
Shane wouldn't be running the show. Shane's much more of a business man. <strike>Triple H</strike> Stephanie would just continue to control the creative end.

Does Flair actually have 16? I thought it was really 15. Wasnt he given #16?

I'd have to agree that the current state of the product has never seemed more disorganized. It's like they either don't know what they're doing or are not trying at all. I can't see any sort of long term plan right now outside of the Kane/Lita angle, which is currently set to "go on indefinitely ala Kane vs X-Pac in 99/00."
Sad. Really sad.

Why would they have their up and coming star in Orton lose the title after just a month?
Just doesnt make sense.
It's like theyre trying to ruin themselves.
<font color=white>Calm yourselves down. Orton is still gonna be 'The Man'. Come WrestleMania, Orton will be more over, more accomplished and people are really going to wanna see him beat 3 H's (for the storyline and politically). I don't really agree with last nights title change but getting in hissy fit over it is a waste of time. Give it a few months and Randy Orton will be the hottest thing on the planet.
Personally though, I think they should never have put the title on Orton at SS. Why couldn't Triple H pin Benoit in say a 3 way dance with Orton maybe after Orton RKO's the toothless one and Trips steals the win. Lays the same foundations...</font>
Trips is obviously out to beat Flair's record of 16 time champion

They make no sense at all. Now I know why I stopped watching a long long time ago. Knock WCW all you'd like, and however stupid the angle was, but at least their young guys were getting TV time - and a lot of the time picking up wins over the established ones.
Say what you will, but when WCW came to an end it was a mix of talents getting TV time and holding titles, not just one guy and his family. You had a place for Flair, Kid Romeo, Shane Douglas and everyone inbetween. The angles may not have been total genious, but they were on TV and getting over still the same.
I'm not an Orton fan at all, but it isn't smart business to keep these Title changes on so often. OK, I get it that the belts DON'T MEAN SHIT ANYMORE - fine, but when you keep doing that, you even piss off new fans, as they find it hard to keep up with, and they lose interest. Until someone at WWE figures out that in this case, business is far more important than 'family', they'll stay right where they're at.
Splaya

Look guys, the answer is simple. WWE should have made Orton drop the title at SS not right now. But this will begin Orton's race to Wrestlemania. And you guys can't tell me that none of you will watch it, that all of you will not be interested. Look at what is going on on Raw right now. HBK is back, yes the game is champ but who cares. Orton is going to be in the title hunt. It's not like Benoit. Benoit is older than Orton. Orton will be in the main event for the next 10 years, guaranteed.
What this all boils down to is this. If you don't like the product, create a thread, bitch about it all you want. But don't show up bitching in the Raw thread, don't bitch in any other threads. You let the matter die in the topic created, and you either watch the product because its "entertainment, its there to entertain us even if it is political bullshit" or shut the fuck up and don't post again.
Sorry guys, sometimes I just really get pissed off.

K, see you after Raw tommorrow.
Holy crap, you didn't shoot yourself?!
Anyways, I think it's pretty obvious that the Orton/Triple H feud is far from over. Now it gives Orton a little more leverage to really gain the fans' approval as the underdog. I'm going to be uber-pissed if that really is the end of the feud, but if it's not, then it's probably a good thing to have the heel as the champ, since the title chase will be more exciting.
As for Triple H being champ again, well, it's nothing we haven't seen before. And he never beat Benoit for the strap, so I'm still happy.
The problem I have with Orton jobbing last night is taht it hurts Benoit just as much as Orton. The guy who jobbed to Benoit 4 times just beat the only guy that defeated Benoit this year. So at this point I wouldn't be surprised if both Orton and Benoit were in the shitter in terms of how seriously the fans will take them as World title contenders.
What I'm hoping to see is Orton unleashing everything he has in him to overcome all the obstacles to win the title again instead of running away every time he's in the face of danger.

I did get to watch the ppv last night and I wasnt too happy that HHH won the title back, thus ending Ortons reign at one month. And thinking about it, HHH hasnt been the champion in 6 months, that the biggest gap between his title reigns in almost 3 years. But as alot of people said before SummerSlam, they wanted to see Orton chase the belt, and I think that is what will happen, possibly with him getting the title back at Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania.
As far as quitting watching RAW, I wont be doing that. I am still a WWE fan, even when it does suck most of the time. But I still enjoy watching it, and will especially be watching RAW, since I like that better anyways.

you know, I've been a wrestling fan for a long time, and although the glory days of the nwa were before my time, I really wish I could of been a fan back then. In an age were a guy could hold a tiltle for a full year, and get praised for it rather than spit upon. Do you know why WWE keeps going back to triple H? Because he's dependable. Benoit, as great as he is a wrestler, is pretty bad on the mike. You may be able to get away with that in a place like ROH where the focus is on wrestling, but in the storyline based WWE you gotta be able to talk. Orton as much as I like him is much better at playing the heel right now, and needs to learn to deliver better face promos. HHH deliver's awesome promos, and can consistently have fantastic matches with anyone on the roster.(03' rumble notwithstandin) The point is I'm sick and tired of all these people sitting at home, reading all these "rumors" about HHH, and immediatly beleiving it to be 100% true. Yeah he probably has more of an influence on vince than others, but I doubt he's trying to ruin careers as many people accuse him of. some of you say you're done watching wwe? well I'm done listening to you bitch and moan.

So let me get this straight.... you aren't going to watch wrestling anymore, because you're so sick of the guy you didn't want to win winning, but you're still going to stick around here and bitch and moan, making the lives of everyone who has to sift through your bawling a tad bit less pleasant?
Sound's delicious.
Here's the lowdown: The only reason why the World Heavyweight Championship has lost any of its image is because the WWE backed out on their gamble with Orton after only a month. It has nothing to do with the fact that the guy that you were told sucked when you showed up on the TPWW's doorstep won the title. It's like when the Naitch said that he's heard the "HHH is to wrestling as HIV is to live" line like a million times. The whole thing has been going on for so long that HHH (whether he actually entertains us or not is out of the question) cannot touch the gold without somebody saying "Boo Hoo! I'm not watching wrestling anymore!"
The fact of the matter is, Trips has been coming back to life the past few weeks. NOT because he's been jobbing everywhere, but because he's been the same ruthless cerebral assassin that he's been so well in the past. Anyone remember trips beating Eugene to a pulp before summer slam? Anyone remember the cage match? Some of you can, and you probably know where I'm coming from. If it were any other wrestler we'd all be saying "Great! He's gone back to the character we all loved him as. He deserves the title." but we can't say that because we have a new euphamism in wrestling, and his name is HHH.
So here's a new quote for you. "HHH is to wrestling as carbs are to diets. Despite what we really know about each, everyone tells us that they're evil. So we accept them as evil."
