Well, those who know what I'm talking about will understand and preferably add input to the thread, and those who don't won't care anyways, so they'll just fuck off and all is well. Bought this CD last month, haven't really given it much listening time though. I like what I've heard though, kinda sounds the same as TBS' first CD, but still fresh and whatnot. Nothing really ground-breaking or whatever, but I don't care. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Apparently it's a single (but I've never heard it as I haven't listened to the radio properly in months), but A Decade Under the Influence = pwn. Best song on the CD I've found, so far. Mind you, I haven't really gotten a "feel" for all the songs yet, so that'll probably change sometime.

What are your thoughts on it? Good, bad, meh? Boingggggg

Its okay, not as good as the first. Tell all your friends just had more of that rawness to it. This just feels too polished at times.

Initially I liked it, then I was pretty apathetic towards it for a while. Now I'm loving it. Best songs are "Set Phasers To Stun," "New American Classic" and "Number Five With A Bullet."

It would help if I knew which band made the CD.

Once it grew on me, I loved it. Really don't miss John Nolan being in TBS, Fred fills John's position in the band nicely. Best songs - Number Five with a bullet, One Eighty by Summer, Slowdance on the Inside.

I love it, probably about the same, if not more, than the first album. I contest the fact that the CD sounds too polished at times, with Adam's voice breaking on a few occassions and really hearing his strain and such. Nice emotion and whatever.

Ry is right, Fred does a great job as the new second vocalist, and his voice melds really nicely with Adam's.

The Union is my favourite song on the album. It really really drives the whole way through and has really nice vocal and instrumental lines. Plus, the fact that it's about the two guys who left the band ("you're built from distractions so brilliantly dull...I had a better friend in my worst of plans than I ever had in either one of you..." serves as a good way for the band to get their feelings across.

Set Phasers to Stun

At first I wasn't really sure about this song, but it grew on me really really quickly, and is now one of my favourites on the album. A really nice kickoff to the CD. 8/10

Bonus Mosh Part II

Even if this rose had a different name (owing to the fact that "Bonus Mosh Part II" is the stupidest name for a song ever), it still wouldn't smell sweet. Among my least favourite songs on the album, to be honest. It's slow and boring. The guitar line is probably the nicest thing about this song. Kind of a disappointing followup to "Set Phasers to Stun". 5/10

A Decade Under the Influence

The worst song on the entire album, hands down. Really boring guitar and drum work. I hate the "I've got a bad feeling about this" repetition almost as much as I hate the "I know something that you don't know" in Timberwolves at New Jersey. Really not an interesting song, sadly. 3/10

The Photograph is Proof (I Know You Know)

The Spiderman song. Nice enough, I really like Adam's voice breaks and strains. The chorus structure and notes and stuff are very similar to Bonus Mosh. However, still a really nice song. 7/10

The Union

As I said before, hands down my favourite song on the CD. The Bassline, the crazy guitar after Adam screams "I never made a scene", the bitterness of the lyrics, the mad back and forths between Adam and Fred (almost called him John then :$), the funk beat in the first "I never made a scene" part, the whole song is awesome. 9.5/10

New American Classic

Love this song. Beautiful guitar and vocal work. A really nice acoustic song. 9/10

I Am Fred Astaire

I actually really like this song. Something about it has got me singing it in my head alot lately. Really liking it. 7.5/10

One Eighty by Summer

Probably my second favourite song on the CD. It's just a really nice song overall, very nice vocal work between the vocalists, good guitar and basslines, and a nice drum feel to round it off. Plus, the Claudio-from-Coheed-and-Cambria/Jim-From-Sparta-esque squeal at the end of the song from Adam makes the whole song for me. I would listen to this song purely for that part, any day of the week. 9/10

Number Five with a Bullet

I really like this song too, despite its "You're So Last Summer" similarities. Both songs rule though, so I'm not complaining. 8.5/10

Little Devotional
Really catchy song. Been in my head for days. Very nice song, overall. 7.5/10

...Slowdance on the Inside
A nice finisher for the CD. Nothing overly special but a very nice song nonetheless. 7/10

Overall: 8.5/10

Yeah, overall I  this album.:love:TBS:love::love:

None of my friends were going to give this a chance really because of the departure of John Nolan. Retards. Now they all love the CD.

best songs are definately one-eighty by summer, set phasers to stun and bonus mosh

and i agree with mitch, a decade under the influence isn't very good. probably the worst song tbs have done. :|</font>

I listened to a few songs, sounds like the new guitarist really likes The Police, because I hear a big influence in their songs.

Where You Want to Be is a huge improvement from Tell All Your Friends, and imn my opinion, the album of the year. Best songs are A Decade Under hte Influence, Set Phasers to Stun, and I Am Fred Astaire.

I dunno, I'm not really good with picking up poor guitar and drum work unless it's blatantly obvious. A Decade Under the Influence kind of jumped at me and I loved it the first time I listened to the album, before it was a single. I actually like the repetition of "I've got a bad feeling about this", to me the song would be too plain without it.

Either go to one of their concerts or to the nearest store that sells band t-shirts.

A pretty good album. "A Decade Under the Influence " is definitely my fave song. It's stupidly catchy. "New American Classic" is one of their better slow songs. In terms of the lineup change, I prefer Fred slightly to John (that said, I'm still counting the days to the Straylight Run album). My only nitpick is that the lyrics in the liner notes in no way resemble those in the songs.

I'd call it album of the year so far. The whole thing is pretty damn good. It's hard to pick a favorite, I seem to change my mind on it every week. Right now it's probably One Eighty by Summer.

Wearing my TBS shirt today. :cool:I have 2 TBS shirts and a hoody.

One of the shirts you could only buy at their secret show too, where they played as "Booze and Adventure." It's like my favorite shirt.

yes thats awesome

my favorite part of the album is in One Eighty by Summer from :57 to 1:20 during the "Are you afraid to..." part and especially at 1:04 when Adam yells "Say what you want to. Tell me you want to"

I dunno why but its sweet
