After using both, I prefer 2000. I dunno which one is more stable or anything, but me personally I just found 2000 better :o

XP is really just a suped up version of 2000, they run on the same file system and have alot of the same features.
I would take the computer into account when thinking about upgrading, whats the Mhz and ram? because XP runs a few more processes than other Operating systems it needs a decent amount of power to run nicely. Its made for newer computers, basicly anything that has been made in around the last 3 years.
Allthough I have installed XP into some crappy machines over the last year and they all ran OK

I have two computers in my house, one has XP and the other has 2000. I don't really find any differences.

I remember when XP first came out, PC Gamer had a big long article about it, comparing it to 2000 and whatnot, from a gaming perspective. I forget what they said in it, but I do recall reading that they said XP was the better O/S for gaming. Is that true, does anyone find?
I probably still have the magazine in my closet (I have like 3 years' worth of them when I subscribed), so I can probably try and find it again

XP has made my comp a lot faster for doing stuff like swapping files between hard drives etc, and everything else I have liked about it so far has just been pretty little features and stuff.
The only problem I had was with a file I couldn't delete, and since I had no DOS, I was screwed. Fixed it in the end though.
Had a little scare with some viruses too but sorted that out easily enough.
Games like Diablo and RF2 run fine, but for some reason they take a bit longer to load up, and when i fullscreen Zsnes or go into diablo, the monitor goes on standby for a split second, and has to take a couple of seconds to go into the game :-\
Overall though I like XP more than 98
ME is shit, never used 2000
