Good, thats a good sign that the Packers were just playing really really good last week...The bad news is that the Vikes play them on a Monday Night. I could see the two teams splitting the series, each winning on the road.
Tomorrow nights game is going to be  though, I played it out on my ESPN videogame and the Vikings won by 48-13, they only got a touchdown because I blitzed my whole team on the last play of the game. Even though McNabb was injured and out most of the game, I think it was a very realistic reinactment of whats to come. Mua ha ha ha ha.

I don't expect any praise for being the only human being in the world who said Chicago would be the suprise team of the year despite NO analysts or anybody even mentioning them throughout the off season yet...
I do expect the slow turnaround from everyone who mocked me for picking them to be a playoff team to start today though.

Its just one win. Granted the Packers are supposed to be a playoff potential team this season, I call this more of an upset. I'll give you credit because I thought that the Bears had no chance, but I still can't see them winning more than six games. That was just a fluke. Positive rep nonetheless.

Wow. We started out doing OK, moving the ball up steadily with efficient short passes, but then we couldn't get it in the end zone. Then our defense couldn't stop a thing. Then we never had Moss go deep. Then we lost 30 yards per drive on penalties. Then I stopped watching because we suck.
Dante fucking Culpepper fumbling the ball on the goalline. How sad is that. Our defense was supposed to be improved this year. Moss was supposed to make big plays, not five yard gains. Damnit.

That TO Touchdown shouldn't have counted.
Too many penalties for Minnesota, almost made me stop watching. They never used Moss deep, like Madden kept saying. I never knew how bad Daunte was with fumbles too, and that should have been a TD apparently, although the rule of any part of the football having to break the front of the white line is pretty shitty.
Still, I can just sit back and laugh because I know that the Eagles will only go as far as the NFC Championship.

09-21-2004, 02:09 AM
So who won the "battle"? Moss or Owens?
Moss had more catches and I think more yards. Owens really didn't do anything besides his big play, which could have been called back, but it counted so we count it here. Moss did a lot more IMO, but they didn't let him go up and expose the corners, and all of his work was pretty much worthless.
Who won?
BCWWF
09-21-2004, 02:11 AM
It was rediculous, they kept showing Moss on the mic telling Linnehan and Culpepper to let him jump against the safety, and they kept showing clips of him open. There was at least two times when all they had to do was lob the ball into the corner of the end zone and Moss 9 times out of 10 could have caught it.
Sensei Of Mattitude
09-21-2004, 02:29 AM
Moss: 8 Rec, 69 YARDS, 1 TD and a Loss
Owens: 4 Rec, 79 YARDS, 1 TD and a WIN!
-Maybe the TO TD shouldn't have counted but Minnesota DID NOT CHALLANGE.
-Minnesota had many penalties, the Eagles did not... because the Eagles are the BETTER TEAM
-Culpepper is a bitch, he was fucking scared of the defense, hesitated on make play to make and left the ball in a vunerable spot where Nate "Mr. MNF" Wayne stripped it out AND the BALL NEVER BROKE THE WHITE PLANE OF THE ENDZONE. IT NEVER DID. WATCH THE REPLAY.
- Y2Ant, stop whining.... the better team won and the Vikings are NO WHERE NEAR THE LEVEL OF THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES.

why the hell didn't Minny just run the ball on the eagles. That's how everybody beats them. And why was Daunte not Throwing the ball up in the endzone for Moss?
Mike Tice is not a good coach. The Vikings win in spite of him.
BCWWF
09-21-2004, 02:55 PM
They didn't run because the first and second string running backs were out, the fullback/blocking tight end was out, and as soon as our right tackle got injured the line couldn't hold a thing. Somebody was laughing at Bean and I commenting on depth at skill positions, there are few teams that could come even close to what the Vikings did if they didn't have 1 and 2 backs.
Y2Ant
09-21-2004, 03:20 PM
Yeah, I noticed that the O-line wasn't giving Culpepper enough time after Rosenthal got injured, and he kept running it because he couldn't wait long enough for Moss to go deep :(

09-21-2004, 03:30 PM
LOL this Eagles fan is ridiculous
Owens had like 2 catches for 20 yards in the first half. Then he caught that TD one that shouldnt' have counted since he never had control of the ball anyways.
Moss was definitely the better of the two. Sure he wasn't a deep threat (that's a stupid call on the coaching), but he made a lot of catches, and had a few really nice blocks (like that one on the Burleson run)
Anywho, other than the fumbles Culpepper had a good game. Didn't he have like 75% of his passes completed or something? They should have used Onterrio Smith more.
AlphaBean
09-21-2004, 03:49 PM
Jevon Kearse wasn't blocked at all, the entire game. And he jumped the count every time. Culpepper got scared and dumped it off.
Jermaine Wiggins had like 10 receptions.
The Eagles corners didn't do shit. But against a good, healthy line, and a good back (see: Packers) the Eagles will not win.
That said, I think the Eagles will beat the Lions. In fact, facing the Lions, then the Bears in consecutive weeks? Harsh.
Then they face the Ravens. Hopefully, the Ravens will amass 300 rushing yards, but :dunno:
They better do a better job of gameplanning Owens than they did in preseason. Which is to say, the Ravens have a pass-rush which the Vikes don't have, and the Ravens have better linebackers which will counteract the short pass and the sweep. HOPEFULLY.
*shrug* Eagles had one "tough" game in the first half of the season, and it was at home vs Minnesota.
Thankfully, you can't write the Lions or the Bears off, so maybe one or both will pull an upset.
Thank God for the Eagles they're in the NFC Least so they have 6 games they can't lose, plus going against the NFC North gives them two easy wins, one MNF game at home against a MN team that seems to be ready to fall apart :'( and then the Packers at home.
Looks like the NFL is begging for an Eagles repeat to the NFC Championship game. But thankfully, they will choke again.

What are you talking about, Moss played pretty good last night. Other than that one catch Owens made (which as has been said, shouldn't have counted anyways since he was out of bounds and had no control), he did absolutely nothing.

I'm saying a lot of people predicted they Vikings offense was just going to light up the young Corners of the Eagles and Sheldon Brown, and Lito Sheppard did a PHENOMINAL job on Moss and the Vikings recievers.... And no one can ever say Donovan McNabb is overrated. He practically the same stats as Culpepper but the thing is Mcnabb doesn't turn it over every god damn play! There is NO WAY he is overrated.

When asked about the challenge, Tice said "that doesn't matter. What matters is that we need our players to make plays, and they didn't. It doesn't matter whether we challenge it or not."
OH MY GOD. I HATE YOU MIKE TICE.
He defended his stupidity in not challenging, by saying it was the players' fault. He will never take any responsibility. He is the worst coach ever.
PS: Mike Rosenthal is out indefinitely, and Wiggins broke his hand. The Vikings are all-but fucked this season. Especially with Tice at the helm.
But think about this: A non-catch was ruled a long bomb TD catch. Winfield was called on a phantom holding call on a play where MN stopped Philly, and Birk was called on a phantom holding call on a play where Pep ran it in for a TD, making it a close game.
Just keep that in mind. That's a 21 point swing based on poor officiating.

Nobody even said McNabb was over-rated, what the fuck are you talking about? You're making points for arguments that aren't even there.
And again, nobody said that Philadelphia was going to be dominated. Culpepper had over 300 yards passing, I'd say that reflects very poorly on Philly's defense (not that Culpepper is bad or anything, but any time a team gives up 340 yards through the air isn't really a victory for the defense)
And to be honest the corners didn't even do that good of a job. Moss had I think like 11 passes thrown his way, and he caught 8. If Culpepper had time to let plays develop more, Moss would have made you cry.

He's overrated. Did you see all the wide-open looks he threw poorly?
Culpepper was blitzed on every play and had far better passing stats than McNabb. He even had a rushing TD. Wait no, we can't have that. The best Center in the NFL was called for "holding."
Problem is, Pep fumbled. Why? Because of the pass rush.
Remember the times Pep threw to Moss? Completions. Why? Because he was open. Pass to the end zone? TD. Other pass to the end zone? Overthrown, Moss interfering was smart; it saved an INT. Had Pep thrown it back a little, Moss would have probably had a TD. Moss was open deep on many plays, Madden said it over and over again. The Eagles didn't beat Moss, the Eagles beat Culpepper.
It's like Shaq and Kobe... if you pressure Kobe, he will try to make the plays, and won't give the ball to the star. Culpepper tried to run too much, and dumped it off too much, because he was being pressured. Moss was open. Culpepper wasn't.
The Corners didn't shut Randy down, not at all.
Adam Haayer is rated in the 50s on Madden. Lined up against Kearse. The injuries are too much for MN. Any good rush end (Ogunleye, anyone? KGB?) we face will destroy us. We're pretty much fucked now, without Kleinsasser and without Rosenthal.

McNabb is overrated. Not because he's black, but because he's on the Eagles. Pep is way, way better than McNabb, except that he fumbles.
Like I said, if the Vikings had anything resembling a pass rush, McNabb wouldn't have done nearly as good as Pep.
Remember... the Vikings got like NO pressure and McNabb still dumped the ball off to his checkdown receivers. Pep still found his receivers despite constant pressure.
 but boy, did he ever suck shit in the red zone. Wow.

I bet the Packers thought the same thing.
MN is still without a RT, and the Bears still have Ogunleye.
And MN still has Culpepper's girlishly small hands. And the Bears still have Urlacher.
MN's defense is still 26th in the NFL, and the Bears were able to march on the Packers.
And I can't get the taste out of my mouth from this game. We didn't lose, we just got destroyed. Their defense, their playcalling, they got all the calls, we made the most IDIOTIC play-calls in the history of the world in the red zone, we could have won it. We should have won it. I wish I knew what Tice was thinking. This makes me feel like the Cards loss.

Onterrio just isn't good enough though. As a #3 guy he can be a huge threat but he isn't good enough to do it all by himself. They should have used Mewelde more (pun)
AlphaBean

Onterrio, like Bennett and Moe, will be far, far less effective without Kleinsasser.
And without Rosenthal? We ran the ball well early on, well enough I guess, but we lack the run blocking that we had all of last season.
Onterrio has the skills to be elite, but right now he's thinking about his suspension, his focus isn't what it should be. That hurts us. And a star HB with good solid skills is perfect for a better rushing team. If we had Moe, we could pound the ball and keep the defense honest. With Bennett, we could utilize his speed to split the defense. Onterrio is in between. On a system like the Packers, he'd get 2k yards.
That is, if he wasn't being suspended, and is acting like he's anticipating it.

If Daunte stops running draws, or learns how to hold onto the ball, he's the best QB in the NFL.
McNabb can run, but wants to believe he's a pocket QB, but you can tell by his throws, he's half the QB Pep is. His throws more often than not hit the dirt, or soar overhead. Pep's throws are insane, even while getting tackled he chucked one that looked like a McNabb normal pass, to Burleson, for a first down.
