I really enjoy playing it and even watching it but I don't know if it belongs on ESPN or even be considered a sport. I consider sport some type of competition that involves reasonable movement of the body. What do you guys think?

No, definitely not a sport.

It's a game. Games and Sports are two very different things. I think sports are based on the fact that it's physical athletic activity. Poker, just like chess, is not a sport. It's a game.

I'm still borderline on called Golf a sport, to be honest, let alone Poker. That's just preposterous.

Yea, I agree. Just stretching it a little. I just don't like the fact ESPN is showing so much of this stuff that they might consider "sport". Put it on ESPN2 or something. There's just too much poker, spelling bees, chess games on it now. Can't they replace it with something more along the lines of sport like a college football game or old classic games? I'm afraid that the next thing ESPN will implement is video game competitions for Madden.

Poker is kickass to watch. It's so hilarious. I would watch that over a game of Gridiron, soccer or baseball. Just watching them play & listening to the commentators is one of the funniest things ever. Yes there is alot of crap that is put on TV as a "sport" but poker rules. :D:D:D

Poker is not a sport... But i still want to see it on ESPN. It's more entertaining than a worlds strongest man competition or NFL's greatest moments show.

Not a Sport, but a great game. I watch it everytime it's on, even if I've seen it once already. It's great that the game has taken off. Two years ago I remember typing "poker sites" in google to play for free and stuff and I didn't get anything. Now there are so many sites to play with people. And some people just absolutely suck. They never bet their chips and wind up losing their chips on blinds. This is in the Tourneys.

I love playing the free Tourneys. Have never cracked the top 30 yet though. (out of 1000) Closest I've come was 34 place and I always get down to top 100. This is on AbsolutePoker.com BTW.

I just learned how to play 7 Card Stud too.

I grew up with 7 card and still love it today but now I prefer Texas Hold-em cuz of all the psychology involved. I'm trying to get into Omaha but its frustrating sometimes when you can only use 2 of your cards and have to waste the other two. But its still fun. I see it as a mix of Texas and 7 card stud.

yea, Omaha looks like a hard game because it involves a lot of decision making. I don't know if I would like that. Hold-em is definately my favorite. It takes about 3-4 hours for the Turneys online, but time goes by quick. I've never made it to the very end though.

Flush's always seem to knock me out. Hate them.
