View Full Version : Farewell Speech To The Net
Shawn Mega

I been a part of the IWC since late 1999. I join the IWC because all my friends got bored with wrestling and I needed someone to talk to. At first, the IWC used to be fun and positive. Everybody seems to enjoy wrestling. I notice that each year, the net got more and more negative. Great wrestlers like HHH became so-called evil because people don't like his backstage stuff. It's a shame that people feel that way because we have no idea what goes backstage. We can't trust sites like PWINSIDER.com that much. I feel like the net turn me against wrestling. I watch every show now like a smark and it got the best of me.
Speaking of websites like PWINSIDER.com. The spoilers and rumors has completely ruined wrestling for me. The surprise factor is not there anymore. I want to be able too watch Raw,Smackdown and TNA and be surprise about the product. The only websites I will probably still go on is WWE.com and NWATNA.com just to get the ppv results or updates(not spoilers/rumors).
The net has turn fans against many of our legends like Hogan,Luger,Warrior, etc. We should honor them like other sports honor their legends. We lost too many wrestlers lately and we need to honor them while they still alive.
INTERNET Wrestling fans need to stop living in the past so much. It's good to remember the past but we need to love the present just as much. No wonder alot of you guys don't enjoy wrestling no more. The IWC need to stop worrying about the future, that's Vince McMAHON and Jeff Jarrett problems.
I know this change will make me a stronger fan. I hope you guys will join this crusade with me.
FINAL WORD-Spoilers websites need to be destroy. If websites like this eliminate all the spoilers and rumors, maybe I can enjoy these sites and wrestling more.
I'M OUT BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you're problem is that you got older. Maybe now you grew out of wrestling and drifted away from it. I doubt it's the internet's fault because it's YOU who are reading the spoilers. I've watched mainly WWF/E since I was three. As the years went on I was a closet fan, then wrestling got "cool" again when I was in highschool. Now I'm out of highschool, out of college, and wrestling isn't cool anymore. I still enjoy parts of it but I don't enjoy it as much. Maybe I'm smarter to the politics of it now, but I think the reason I don't like it as much is because it's plain and simple not that entertaining anymore.
Maybe the same thing has happened to you. Maybe you are starting to pass wrestling by. Instead of bitching about it on some wrestling forum, find a new hobby.

Couldn't agree more, it's the internet that makes wrestling less fun to watch. :n:

Why don't you just avoid spoilers and rumours in the first place rather than let it get to you?? If I don't watch a PPV as it happens, or even for a few days after, all I do is make sure I avoid this place so that I don't know the results - so that I can watch it and expect to be surprised in some way.
Spoilers can be a pain in the arse and can ruin things sometimes, but how can you expect to have an impartial discusion about the wrestlers when you're interested in talking about them in kayfabe?? A lot of people prefer to talk about the individual, and when a particular individual does something to provoke a strong reaction of some sort then it's understandable that it will be leaked onto the net and be discussed about.
Some negativity aimed at certain wrestlers can be a bit harsh, but then again that's just somebody's opinion and it would be a dull world if we all shared the same opinions about things.

I know, what a dick. It says spoilers there for a reason. You're not made to read it.

Spoilers do take the fun out of wrestling, but then most people say "Well just avoid spoilers".
It's not that easy, though. People are curious by nature... if you have the ability to learn something ahead of time, you're usually gonna take it... it's hard to turn down.
I managed to force myself to stay away from spoilers and all news/rumours for the period from Royal Rumble to WrestleMania and wrestling became much more enjoyable during that time.

I dunno, I think it's pretty easy.
Having had internet access since 1995, I have never once purposly looked at spoilers, or even been that tempted to.

Signs of weakness my son.
I only look at spoilers if I know that I'm not going to be able to watch the show.

And Mega was old enough to have been part of the IWC for five years? I would have bet that he was, like, thirteen tops.

ROFL, Shut the fuck up. That whole post is retarded. "Spoilers are ruining wrestling :'(". You know, WWE.com used to post Smackdown spoilers. It's as simple as don't read them. Do you noit have any will power at all? I so should have banned you back when I first warned you.
LC, you make me proud to be a mod.

The only spoilers revealed about wrestling are the SmackDown! and Impact! tapings. And rumours are just that, rumours. Sure we have no idea what the business is really like backstage, and sure we have no idea what the each wrestler is really like, but we are just another level of wrestling fan that cheers for some guys, and boos for others.
We love the guys that really make wrestling look like a sport. We cheer for Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit because they really entertain us. Triple H & John Bradshaw Layfield aren't as popular with us, because we believe they use politics, or aren't good wrestlers. They are just great heels that we see on a different level.
We're not that different from the regular fan, and we certainly don't ruin wrestling.

You're an idiot.

It's pretty easy to avoid spoilers, as long as people properly use spoiler warnings for the benefit of those that haven't yet watched the show. If you have that little willpower to avoid clicking on a spoiler thread, that is pretty sad.
well sometimes it's unavoidable to see spoilers on this forum, like just one example of a thread that was marked for spoilers, was "2 new wrestlers return (smackdown spoilers)" now, it's not spoiled that viscera and gangrel are coming back, but the fact that 2 wrestlers are making a return has been spoiled, so you're basically waiting for 2 guys to come back, instead of being surprised that two guys came back. This is just one example, there's a lot of threads like this, i never read spoilers on the forum, but stuff like that does bug me, not enough for me to stop coming here, or posting some stupid ass goodbye to the internet that makes no sense.
and i'm not saying i agree with shawn mega, just saying that some amount of spoilers are always there on the net... YOU PEONS OF EARTH!

In my opinion which prob won't matter anyway, spoilers tend to ruin the show especially the ones you get as soon as you visit a site. Ones like "*SPOILER: Goldberg to WWE" or "SPOILER: BROCK EATS LITA'S BABY" are shit you catch as soon as you go to a site like this one. Anything else is avoidable as long as you are that desperate and wait until the so called spoiler event happens.
I'm used to the spoilers that I tend to see in the main page so I am ok with it. But like the word, it spoils everything for you, thus making you spoiled and there must be a bigger event to surprise you next time or you are doomed to ignore the product because of its blandess and repetition since you have become very spoiled.
Anyways, my final word on this is if the product annoys you, don't watch it or if the spoilers annoy you, avoid the sites. You are better off without it at times if this all affects how you view entertainment.

While SPoiler sites do sorta ruin it for us, thoses can be avoided....but I don't really think Spoiler sites that are killing wrestling and making it unentertaining to watch, but it's just the fact that proberly the majority of us already know what going to happen regardless. I mean I can watch Raw and say....Oh yeah, Christian is going to run in or...Yep Triple H is going to retain the title
