CU @ MU, huge week for us...

They are 3-0 and we haven't beaten them since 1998 I think. We need a big home win tomorrow to help push us closer to getting back into the top 25. I hate being out of it, I feel like a tool.

Other big games:
Auburn at Tennessee
Purdue at Notre Dame

Its late, can't think

Gonzo

Notre Dame baby. I think the way we've been playing gives us as good a chance as any to topple Purdue, but then again I don't know these days. Irish football is so unpredictable.

Minnesota and Penn State, don't know what happened today

We beat Colorado today. They had so many opportunities. Either their offense sucked or our defense played good...We had no offense in the second half again but got damned lucky, did anybody see that interception in the end zone? It was pretty much the same play the guy on the Bears did to Moss last year, except it was good for my team this time! And then they called back that hail mary touchdown by us in the last minute of the half, that was BS.

Brad Smith for Heisman

Orton > Smith

I think Orton has a pretty good shot at winning it but I still think its Lienharts (I think thats how you spell it..QB from USC) to lose.

Boston College beat UMass yesterday to improve to 4-1...good shit. Too bad they had to lose to Wake Forest tho...they would prob be top 25 right now if they won last weekend

BCWWF
10-03-2004, 04:27 PM
Chris Hovan went to BS :shifty:

Smith has been a huge pimp, but he hasn't been as good as he needed to be to be a contender.

K-State lost to Texas A-M last night which is huge. The Big XII North is completely up for grabs. K-State was originally the favorite but now they choked harder than we did. We're in great position right now because we are good at home and thats where K-State plays us. We should be able to handle Iowa State and Nebraska on the road.

Big 10 is having a down year though. Michigan isn't as good as usual, neither is Ohio State.

Michigan State is garbage, they lost to Rutgers. I dunno about Iowa either, they don't look all that impressive. Minnesota looked good with their 2 RBs they got, but still Big 10 just doesn't look that impressive as usual. Oh yea Wisconsin, I haven't really seen them play at all so I can't really comment there

BCWWF

They already did the new rankings, and you have Big 10 teams in 16, 15, 14, 13, and 10. Theres maybe one conference as overall strong as the Big 10, That meaning for having 11 teams, there are only a few teams you get days off with.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
10-03-2004, 06:19 PM
All the teams in the Big 10 aren't as strong as usual though, I don't care about the rankings.

Gertner

lol wait until the bowls come around.

besides Purdue, there is no team I would classify as good.

the reason it's so compettive is because ohio state and michigan are gonna have down years. Michigan and Ohio state both have new qb's with Krenzel and Navarre gone.

Michigan's problem is more with the running game then the QB IMO

Losing Navarre was pretty big but you can't forget they also lost Chris Perry and are having a hard time finding a replacement. Ohio State blew it last night, all this talk about their kicking being unbelievable and he missed a FG in overtime. I guess it didn't end up mattering since Northwestern scored a TD anyways but still cmon

Jesus Shuttlesworth
10-15-2004, 01:43 AM
Damn Hester is a sick fuck. That punt return TD was nuts. He has crazy speed, they gotta get him on the field more somewhere. Rolle and #3 from Louisville (Wide Reciever...cant think of his name now  ) where going at it all night, and one the last hail mary attempt Rolle picked it off and the guy from Louisville tackled after it was blown dead, I figured there was gonna be a huge ass brawl.

Louisville has 2 nice QBs tho. That freshman they got wasn't the #1 High School QB in the nation for nothing last year. Louisville looks like it could be on the "up and up" as far as College Football goes

BCWWF

Lol, yeah wow Minnesota choked and yup Ohio State is now officially bad. Wisconsin and Purdue though, still solid. The Big 10 is usually always pretty much the toughest overall conference, with like 5-6 teams in the top 25, I thought it was the same way this year but just in a different order. Purdue, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio State, Iowa, and Michigan all started the year, go figure.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
10-17-2004, 10:45 PM

The Big VII North is just awful, which is really good news for us still, because if we win out (@ Nebraska, K-State, Kansas- @ Iowa State) which is very likely, we will be in the Big VII Title Game in Kansas City. BCWWF
10-31-2004, 12:42 AM
So I just got back from Lincoln. The game was shitty, our offence was absolutely horrible. We managed one field goal and thats it. Our defense was awesome, until like the very end they only gave up one field goal. Our special teams sucked, a blocked punt returned for a td and a missed punt snap resulting in a field goal the next drive (I don't blame this on the d).

Anyway, Memorial Stadium in Nebraska is really sweet though. We left last night at 3:00 on a coach bus, got there by 9:00 this morning. Had a big breakfast with all the boosters and alums, it was pretty cool. The Big Red was pretty sweet, I can't lie. It was practically silent when they were on offense, but the place got loud when the "Black Shirts" came out.

It was crazy as shit though, in the beginning some huge bomber flew right over the stadium, honestly like 50 feet above us. It was scary as shit. There was also something for Darrin Erstad, so he was there. Apparantly Tommy Lee was there too.

Overall I have a really good impression of Nebraska and the people there. They were all really nice and not unsportsmanlike at all. It was like a big community, all the old people and families are there.

I'll post some pictures of the big red when I upload them on my computer.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
10-31-2004, 01:09 AM
Yea, they finally just said effffff the west coast offense and started running the ball.

I think once Nebraska gets some recruits for that type of offense they will be back, right now they have an option team running the west coast offense.

Purdue lost again, goodbye Orton in the Heisman race, he even got benched during the 2nd half. I think he might be hurt though. Peterson should win the Heisman IMO...atleast right now. Oklahoma's secondary got torn up today, that could be trouble down the road (AKA USC in the national championship)

Missouri had the Big 12 North on a platter last week, up 21 points on K-State (who is awful) and Nebraska losing to Iowa State. Then we decide to blow the lead and lose. Wow. Nebraska losing and us winning would have tied us, but then they had to play OU today, so obviously theres a loss, whereas our final two games are Kansas and Iowa State. The Big 12 North is a shame. That was a sorry helmet to helmet hit though. Rosegreen had got a personal foul like two plays earlier and then he went and did that. Its the game of football, you are gonna get rocked. I don't think that was a cheap shot at all. The other play, yeah, he deserved the personal foul but I don't think he did there. He got up and was excited after the hit, anybody would be, but once he noticed Brown was out he calmed down just like everyone else. Being in the tougest conference. Check.
Winning a conference title. Check.
Going undefeated. Check.
Playing for the National Championship. No go.
Last I checked Auburn doesn't play in the ACC.

Yeah but USC and Oklahoma didn't do anything to lose their spots. OU, USC, and AU all are equally good and there's nothing really to prove any are better than the other. To call it "a joke" that Auburn isnt playing in the Orange Bowl is ridiculous, a joke would be if USC or Oklahoma slipped down despite winning. Which is why it IS a joke that Cal isnt playing, considering they destroyed everybody except the #1 team in the nation and still slipped despite winning.

Ehh

I just think that USC is up there because they got the snub last year. #1 in the media and coaches poll but #2 in the computer polls. Auburn is in the toughest conference and still went undefeated. Sticky situation all around though.

But, if Auburn wouldn't play teams like the University of Bob, this would not have happened.

Yeah Auburn's non conference opponents were shit, USC had to play VaTech

Who cares about computers and rankings. Oklahoma, USC, and Auburn are all equally nasty. If Auburn didn't let Tenn back into the game then maybe they would have had a chance. Samething with Cal..how are you going to let Southern Miss hang around? I know he didnt try to score at the end when they probably could have but even then with that extra 7 points it still wouldn't have been enough. Who Cal really beat though? They came close to beating the #1 in the nation, Texas came close to beating the #2 team in the nation. Aswell as beating other ranked teams. Did Cal even beat a top 25 all season? I am not sure if Arizona State was ranked or not when they played them. While Texas beat Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State.

In either case tho, any of the teams discussed deserve to be playing so whatever. I don't know, i'd rather see Michigan play Texas. It will be pretty cool, first time these 2 power houses are ever meeting.

Big East will obviously be losing their automatic bid next year now that they aren't a powerhouse conference at all. So what do you think they are gonna do with that bid? I think they should just make it an at large honestly because then this year Texas and Cal would BOTH be in the BCS

Nah, they will add the WAC

Thats a bad idea IMO, I think they should just have another at large bid.

WAC doesn't really have much to offer

Boise State
Fresno State
Hawaii
Louisiana Tech
Nevada
Rice
San Jose State
Southern Methodist
Texas-El Paso
Tulsa

I think an at large bid would be better then any team off that list. Like for example this year, Texas and Cal are both better then any team in the WAC.

Yeah, I was just kidding tho.

Looking at that list though, the WAC is clearly better than the Big East. Stupid Miami and VT
